The Green Jobs Programme is a 12-month initiative led by Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence to create sustainable and diversified green economy in the UAE by focusing on green jobs. The programme consists of three pillars: research and database development, green employment facilitation, and capacity building. It involves conducting research on green jobs sectors, creating a green jobs database, connecting job seekers to industry through platforms and events, and building knowledge through discussions and newsletters. The overall goals are to shed light on green jobs and education for sustainable development and connect relevant stakeholders for green employment opportunities in the UAE.

OECD Green Talks LIVE - Financing Climate FuturesOECD Environment
Infrastructure worldwide has suffered from chronic under-investment for decades and currently makes up more than 60% of greenhouse gas emissions. A deep transformation of existing infrastructure systems is needed for both climate and development, one that includes systemic conceptual and behavioural changes in the ways in which we manage and govern our societies and economies. The OECD, UN Environment and the World Bank Group “Financing Climate Futures: Rethinking Infrastructure” initiative focuses on how governments can move beyond the current incremental approach to climate action and more effectively align financial flows with climate and development priorities.
On 29 November 2018, Rodolfo Lacy, Anthony Cox and Virginie Marchal of the OECD Environment Directorate, along with Dorothée Allain-Dupré of the OECD Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Cities and Richard Baron from the 2050 Pathways Platform presented and discussed key findings from the report during a Green Talks LIVE webinar.

The Impact of Using Lean-centered Model to Increase the Achievement of the Le...rahulmonikasharma
The suggested Lean centered-model has been designed to increase the achievement of the students in English Language Teaching (ELT). An experimental study was conducted to find the effectiveness of the model in the application of Lean as an innovative method in English language teaching. The participants of the study scored different achievements in both, the control and treatment groups. The end-result of the learners in the experimental group was statistically highly significant in the pre and posttests. The result was also statistically different between the pre-posttests between the two groups. The current model leads the stakeholders of an educational process to finish the syllabus on time, the program finished as it had been planned and resulting a better achievement. The model was a guide to finish the whole program in line with completing every step before starting the next. The lean-centered model helped to meet the needs of the learners. The learners also managed to get high achievements and develop their skills. The students had their roles as theculture of lean allows learners to be an effective part of the process. All the steps were eliminated which existed in the program and added no value to the end-result of the students according to the lean-centered model.

PROJECT OVERVIEW
Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence has taken the lead in this
endeavor creating a collaborative Green Jobs Programme.
This will be an umbrella framework under which green
jobs and education will be tackled in a number of initiatives
conceived to achieve the following goals:
• Shed light on green jobs and education for sustainable
development
• Create a data repository for green jobs
• Connect the relevant stakeholders for green employment
Given its collaborative nature, the Green Jobs Programme
will involve key stakeholders in all of the initiatives:
governmental institutions, educational providers, and
industry and jobs seekers.
PROJECT APPROACH
The Programme is based on three pillars. Pillar 1 focuses on quantitative research on net green
employment and qualitative research on occupations, skill needs and training provision in four different
sectors relevant to the green economy (i.e. renewable energies, green building, waste management,
and sustainable transport). This pillar also foresees a green jobs database development. Pillar 2
facilitates youth employment by creating a number of platforms to connect green job seekers and the
industry using social media, public exhibitions and company presentations. Under Pillar 3, a knowledge
sharing platform and a series of events will inform on best practices and the latest developments on
green jobs at national and international levels. The Programme per se is a strong tool for capacity
building on green jobs, stakeholder’s engagement on education for sustainable development and
green employment facilitation.
