I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards
The learner will be able to understand and appreciate the elements and contexts of 21st century Philippine literature from the regions.
B. Performance Standards
The learner will be able to demonstrate understanding and appreciation of 21st Century Philippine literature from the regions through:
1. a written close analysis and critical interpretation of a literary text in terms of form and theme, with a description of its context derived from
research; and 2. an adaptation of a text into other creative forms using multimedia
C. Learning
Competencies/Objectives
The learner will be able to identify representative texts and authors from each region (e.g. engage in oral history research with focus on key
personalities from the students’ region/province/ town)

present a collage
picture of the
Philippine National
Artist.

about National Artist in
the Philippines.

three members of each
group and will present
information’s and
contributions of each
artist.

to their reflections about
the Philippine National
Artist.

short description and
contribution about them as
a National Artist someday.

Performance Standards The learner will be able to demonstrate understanding and appreciation of 21st Century Philippine literature from the regions through: 1. a written close analysis and critical interpretation of a literary text in terms of form and theme, with a description of its context derived from research; and 2. an adaptation of a text into other creative forms using multimedia C. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #1 The teacher will give a short introduction about National Artist in the Philippines. e. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #2 The teacher will assign three members of each group and will present information’s and contributions of each artist. f. Developing mastery (leads to Formative Assessment 3) The students will have a collaborative work due to their reflections about the Philippine National Artist. g. Finding practical application of concepts and skills in daily living The students will write a short description and contribution about them as a National Artist someday. h. Additional activities for application or remediation The students will read at least one literary pieces of two poets and they will compare and contrast the difference between two literary pieces they have read.
