This document summarizes the work of SPOT, a volunteer group committed to promoting sexual and reproductive health education for Malaysian children. SPOT runs a 10-hour Comprehensive Sexuality Education workshop for teenagers ages 9-12 to help them make informed decisions about their health and well-being. In the 2022/2023 program, SPOT aims to reach 5,000 participants across 30 schools. The workshop covers topics like puberty, hygiene, mental health, relationships, and reproductive health through interactive lessons, activities, and discussions. SPOT has received awards for its education programs and outreach efforts in Malaysia.

The SPOT Comprehensive Sexuality
Education (CSE) Workshop is provided
for free with the aim of helping
teenagers ages 9 to 12 years old,
including teenagers living in
underserved and marginalised
communities, to become confident
and resilient in making informed
decisions for their current and future
well-being. This 10 hour programme is
conducted in-person, for both boys
and girls, over the course of 5 weeks.

5. 2022 PROGRAMME FEATURES
Problem Based Learning: Sharing with participants real
case studies related to problems addressed so participants
develop the ability to apply the knowledge and frame it into
real life.
Interactive Lectures: Presentations delivered by
Trainers. Lectures will cover basic concepts and include
time and space for discussion and reflection.
Group Activities: Smaller group activities to allow time
and space for participants to digest and further understand
context of concepts introduced and share experiences
amongst peers.
Individual Activities: Participants are given activity
sheets to complete at their own time.
Quizzes: Participants will get to test new knowledge in
an interactive and fun manner. The Kahoot based
activities are designed as a positive reinforcement
exercise to help better knowledge retention.
Pre-class Activities: Participants will be given tasks before
sessions in order to optimise the learning experience, such
as reading documents, watching a video or conducting a
specific investigation.
Psycho-social Support: We strive to provide a safe and
comfortable environment in order to support the well-
being and welfare of participants throughout the
programme.
Total Number of Contact Hours:10
Participants will need to commit to 10 hours during group
sessions, and complete individual activities.
