4. Content Analysis
Flood is a state of high water level along a river channel
or on the coast that leads to inundation of land, which
is not usually submerged.
During August 1st week to september 2nd week 2019, Vijayapura,
Bagalkot, Raichur, Yadgiri, North-Kannada, South-Kannada,
Shivamogga, Kodagu and Chikkamagalur Rivers like krishna,
Malaprabha, Ghataprabha, Bhima, sharavathi, Kaveri Tunga and
Bhadra rivers are overflow.

Release of water from overflowing dams.
delaying the release of water from the Hidkal dam in Belagavi district
of Karnataka had a huge influence on worsening the flood situation as
operators waited for the dam to be almost full.
Poor management to maintain the water level in the reservoir.

In Shivamogga District: person are died in Shivamogga.
Belagavi District: Belagavi is said to be the worst hit
district in the state
People were killed in rain related incidents.
40,180 people have been evacuated.

Crop loss in Belagavi was reported in 1,36,529 hectares
of land.
1,410 km of roads and 211 bridges have been damaged.
Dakshina Kannada District:
People have been evacuated.
Uttara Kannada District:
rain-related deaths have occurred in the district and
one NDRF team has been deployed.
Malnad region:
witnessed major flooding and there is overflowing in
lakes, tributaries and rivers.
14. Total of 3.14 lakh people have been evacuated.
2.18 lakh are stayed in 1224 camp
People were killed and several others injured due to
heavy rains and floods in northwest and coastal
districts
Mysuru to Madikeri & Mysuru to H D Kote Road
closed due to heavy rains and water overflowing.
Mysore-Nanjanagud Road has been closed due to
Kabani dam overflowing.
Bus services affected due to heavy rains

traffic from chikkamagaluru to Shivamogga.
