WELCOME TO
FRIDAY IRISH FISH FRY SATURDAY FUN FOR ALL
Kick off St Patrick’s Week!
Welcome to
Carroll’s 4th Annual St. Pat’s Fest!
This event, now in its fourth year, is a wonderful example of how the
Carroll community comes together for the good of our beloved school.
Specifically, three fundraising arms: the Alumni Association, Patriot
Parent Club and Carrolleers have collaborated to bring you this special
event. The proceeds generated from the festival will impact all aspects of
the Carroll community – academics, athletics, the arts, and alumni. St.
Pat’s Fest proceeds from the past three years went towards a new cooling
system in the main gymnasium, renovation of our Collaborative Learning
Center (formerly the library) in addition to student scholarships and
music program needs.
We believe that our festival truly has something for everyone. Friday’s
traditional fish fry will give alumni, parents, and friends a chance to catch
up with old friends, enjoy Irish music and enjoy delicious food and drink.
On Saturday, we welcome families during the day to enjoy games and
activities for people of all ages with entertainment from Carroll students
and local Irish Dance companies. Saturday night, after Mass, we’re in for
a special treat as the popular Band 5 performs in the aux gym, and the
Irish band, Bloody Tinth, takes the stage for some extraordinary music.
We thank you for coming to visit us this weekend and we hope you have a
wonderful time.
I am truly grateful to the entire Carroll community, especially those
parents, alumni, staff, and students who make this event such a huge
success. It is volunteers like them who work so hard for the greater good
that make Carroll such a special place.
It’s good to be Irish and it’s a great day to be a Patriot!

FÁILTE WELCOME
1
It’s Carroll’s BIGGEST
fundraiser involving
the entire Carroll community.
We could not have done it without the Carroll
High School alumni, parents, faculty, staff and
students who spent countless hours preparing
for this event and are helping this weekend.
Share the fun!

The Most Reverend John Carroll, S.J., Carroll High School’s
namesake, was not only the first bishop and Archbishop in the United
States and the founder of Georgetown University, but also a direct
descendant of Ireland. His father, Daniel Carroll, was an Irish native.
Carroll High School has had a number of students and alumni
who were Champion Irish Dancers having competed at Oireachtas,
Nationals, and continued to World Irish Dance Championship,
including Mary Laffey ‘85, Brian McLaughlin ‘13, and 1989 graduate,
John Timm, who earned the Senior Men’s World Championship title
in 1993.
Carroll High School has a history with Dayton’s Irish Community.
The Dayton Feis (an Irish Dance competition) took place at Carroll
from 1988-1997.
So it is not surprising that the
Home of the Patriots is having an Irish Celebration!
Carroll’s Irish Connection

2019 Carroll High School St. Pat's Fest Program

  • 1. MARCH 8-9, 2019 WELCOME TO FRIDAY IRISH FISH FRY SATURDAY FUN FOR ALL Kick off St Patrick’s Week!
  • 2. Welcome to Carroll’s 4th Annual St. Pat’s Fest! This event, now in its fourth year, is a wonderful example of how the Carroll community comes together for the good of our beloved school. Specifically, three fundraising arms: the Alumni Association, Patriot Parent Club and Carrolleers have collaborated to bring you this special event. The proceeds generated from the festival will impact all aspects of the Carroll community – academics, athletics, the arts, and alumni. St. Pat’s Fest proceeds from the past three years went towards a new cooling system in the main gymnasium, renovation of our Collaborative Learning Center (formerly the library) in addition to student scholarships and music program needs. We believe that our festival truly has something for everyone. Friday’s traditional fish fry will give alumni, parents, and friends a chance to catch up with old friends, enjoy Irish music and enjoy delicious food and drink. On Saturday, we welcome families during the day to enjoy games and activities for people of all ages with entertainment from Carroll students and local Irish Dance companies. Saturday night, after Mass, we’re in for a special treat as the popular Band 5 performs in the aux gym, and the Irish band, Bloody Tinth, takes the stage for some extraordinary music. We thank you for coming to visit us this weekend and we hope you have a wonderful time. I am truly grateful to the entire Carroll community, especially those parents, alumni, staff, and students who make this event such a huge success. It is volunteers like them who work so hard for the greater good that make Carroll such a special place. It’s good to be Irish and it’s a great day to be a Patriot! Matt Sableski ‘91 Carroll Principal Presented by: the Carroll High School Alumni Association, Patriot Parent Club, and the Carrolleer Band Parents FÁILTE WELCOME
  • 3. 1 It’s Carroll’s BIGGEST fundraiser involving the entire Carroll community. We could not have done it without the Carroll High School alumni, parents, faculty, staff and students who spent countless hours preparing for this event and are helping this weekend. • 26. 24 The Most Reverend John Carroll, S.J., Carroll High School’s namesake, was not only the first bishop and Archbishop in the United States and the founder of Georgetown University, but also a direct descendant of Ireland. His father, Daniel Carroll, was an Irish native. Carroll High School has had a number of students and alumni who were Champion Irish Dancers having competed at Oireachtas, Nationals, and continued to World Irish Dance Championship, including Mary Laffey ‘85, Brian McLaughlin ‘13, and 1989 graduate, John Timm, who earned the Senior Men’s World Championship title in 1993. Carroll High School has a history with Dayton’s Irish Community. The Dayton Feis (an Irish Dance competition) took place at Carroll from 1988-1997. So it is not surprising that the Home of the Patriots is having an Irish Celebration!
