This document provides information about scholarships available for middle and high school students to attend summer camps at WSU Tri-Cities. Six $200 scholarships are available for Cougar Discovery camp and four $150 scholarships are available for STEM camps. Scholarships are need-based and applicants must provide documentation that they receive free or reduced-price lunch. To apply, students must complete the application form, include the required documentation, and write a one-page letter explaining their interest in the camp and how it relates to their career goals. Completed applications will be reviewed in the order received and scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are distributed.

1. Summer Camp 2016 Scholarship Application
Scholarship Guidelines: Because of the generosity of private donors, WSU Tri-Cities is offering a scholarship opportunity
for middle and high school students looking to attend one of our summer camps on the Richland campus. Awarded will be
six $200 scholarships to be used towards Cougar Discovery tuition, two $150 scholarships to be used towards Middle
School STEM Camps, and two $150 scholarships to be used towards High School STEM camps. All camps are week-
long. Scholarships awarded are need-based and eligibility is determined based through a review of documentation the
applicant provides from their school district verifying that the student is receiving free or a reduced fee lunch.

The number of scholarships available is limited!
* Contact your school district’s main office or the lunch service at your school. Documentation must be printed on school district letterhead.
You must fill out the scholarship application completely and provide all of the required documents in order to be
considered for a scholarship. Completed applications will be reviewed in the order in which they are received.
Scholarships will be awarded to eligible students on a first-come, first-served basis until all funds are distributed.
Scholarships are limited to one per child per summer. Those awarded a scholarship must submit a thank you note or letter
upon payment in order to receive any scholarship funds. The thank you note or letter may be addressed to: Summer Camp
Sponsor. You will be notified by telephone and a letter in the mail if you receive a scholarship.

Paragraph one:
 Your name, the school you attend, and the grade level you will enter this fall of 2016.
 The name of the summer camp you are applying to receive a scholarship to attend.
 A career that you want to pursue after you complete your education.
Please answer the following question in two or three paragraphs:
 Why are you interested in attending this summer camp and how do you believe it will help prepare you for the
future career of your choice?
After you have finished writing and proofreading your letter, please attach
to the lunch document your school district provides and send both forms in
the mail to our campus at the address listed 
