• The NCTM Mathematics Education Trust
(MET) provides funds for NCTM Affiliate
grants, including the endowed Kenneth B.
Cummins Award, as well as funds to
support teachers.
• MET’s Board of Trustees invites NCTM

NCTM Legislative Platform
Each year the Board passes the Legislative Platform, which states NCTM’s positions on important policy issues under consideration or likely to be discussed in Congress or policy circles. It is the clearest single statement of NCTM legislative and policy priorities.
STEM Education Coalition
NCTM is an active member of the STEM Education Coalition, which consists of more than 200 education, business, and other organizations with an interest in STEM policies. NCTM Associate Executive Director Ken Krehbiel is a co-chair of the coalition.
House STEM Caucus Steering Committee
The House STEM Caucus Steering Committee plans briefings for Capitol Hill legislative staff and other events to raise the profile of STEM education and STEM issues in Washington. The House STEM Caucus consists of members of the House of Representatives on both sides of the aisle who advocate for STEM education and STEM. NCTM’s Ken Krehbiel is on the Steering Committee.
