The City of Milford has made significant efforts to reduce energy consumption in municipal and school buildings. Mayor Benjamin Blake has partnered with local organizations to audit energy use. As a result, City Hall and another building received ENERGY STAR labels for top 25% energy efficiency. On average, ENERGY STAR buildings use 35% less energy and release 35% less carbon dioxide. City Hall reduced its energy use by 43% and greenhouse gas emissions by 58 metric tons annually compared to similar buildings.
