Discussions about the potential of digital technologies in education today increasingly
place the issue as part of a more comprehensive approach to innovation in education. Education systems and institutions are not averse to change in themselves, but there seem to be very powerful barriers in place that prevent digital technologies from reaching their potential in educational institutions and teaching and learning practices. Digitalization for fostering and enhancing learning, the impact of digital technologies on education itself has been shallow.

The plan aims to provide equitable access to technology for all students and teachers. It focuses on expanding one-to-one computing, online learning opportunities, and technology-integrated instruction. The plan also addresses teacher training, administration/data management, technical support, and annual evaluation of progress.
EduNxt is an online learning platform launched by Sikkim Manipal University's Directorate of Distance Education to provide accessible, affordable, and appropriate education to its over 324,000 enrolled students. The platform enables collaborative learning through features like virtual classrooms, self-study content, recorded presentations, and online discussion forums. It aims to create an interactive online environment similar to a physical classroom.
The document outlines the development of a 3-year eLearning/ICT strategy for Manor Lakes P-12 College. It discusses the college's previous strategies involving 1:1 device programs. It notes positives that have come from increased technology access, like engagement and collaboration, but also challenges around costs and appropriate use. Key questions are posed to help guide the new strategy, such as what technologies students should have access to and how they will enhance learning. An overarching question is what skills and tools the college wants students to have by 2017. Worldwide trends in educational technology are also reviewed to inform the new strategy. Feedback from attendees will be incorporated into the initial draft.
With unexpected events requiring K-12 schools to adopt remote learning initiatives, e-Learning has never been more important. We are outlining what e-Learning means for K-12 education, why it is so important to the current and future education landscape, and how to implement e-Learning initiatives in your school or district.
How are students actually using technology? EMEA Online Symposium 2020Studiosity.com
At the EMEA Symposium 2020, Sarah Knight, Head of data and digital capability at Jisc, delivered a data-focused insight into how students are actually using technology in further and higher education. Here are some key findings:
- Office for Students predicts that over a million digitally skilled people will be needed by 2022 whilst 24% of HE students said they never worked online with others
- 70% of HE students agreed that digital skills were important for their chosen career but only 42% agreed that their course prepared them for the digital workplace
Here are the key recommendations that, now more than ever, can practically help your students:
- Raise awareness of the importance of digital skills
- Ensure they know what digital skills they need to have before they start and provide opportunities to develop these only online
- Encourage collaboration to emulate business practices
- Embed digital skills through curriculum design
This year's EMEA Studiosity Symposium was hosted online on 1st and 2nd April 2020.

THE SACRIFICE HOW PRO-PALESTINE PROTESTS STUDENTS ARE SACRIFICING TO CHANGE T...indexPub
The recent surge in pro-Palestine student activism has prompted significant responses from universities, ranging from negotiations and divestment commitments to increased transparency about investments in companies supporting the war on Gaza. This activism has led to the cessation of student encampments but also highlighted the substantial sacrifices made by students, including academic disruptions and personal risks. The primary drivers of these protests are poor university administration, lack of transparency, and inadequate communication between officials and students. This study examines the profound emotional, psychological, and professional impacts on students engaged in pro-Palestine protests, focusing on Generation Z's (Gen-Z) activism dynamics. This paper explores the significant sacrifices made by these students and even the professors supporting the pro-Palestine movement, with a focus on recent global movements. Through an in-depth analysis of printed and electronic media, the study examines the impacts of these sacrifices on the academic and personal lives of those involved. The paper highlights examples from various universities, demonstrating student activism's long-term and short-term effects, including disciplinary actions, social backlash, and career implications. The researchers also explore the broader implications of student sacrifices. The findings reveal that these sacrifices are driven by a profound commitment to justice and human rights, and are influenced by the increasing availability of information, peer interactions, and personal convictions. The study also discusses the broader implications of this activism, comparing it to historical precedents and assessing its potential to influence policy and public opinion. The emotional and psychological toll on student activists is significant, but their sense of purpose and community support mitigates some of these challenges. However, the researchers call for acknowledging the broader Impact of these sacrifices on the future global movement of FreePalestine.

2.3.4 Do not “bump” the iPad against lockers, walls, car doors, floors, etc., as it may crack or
break the screen.
3. USING YOUR iPAD AT SCHOOL
iPads are intended for use at school each day. In addition to teacher expectations for iPad use, school
messages, announcements, calendars and schedules may be accessed using the iPad. Students are
responsible for bringing their iPad to all classes, unless specifically instructed not to do so by their
teacher.
3.1 iPads Left at Home
If students leave their iPad at home, they are responsible for getting the course work completed
as if they had their iPad present. If a student repeatedly leaves their iPad at home, they will be
subject to disciplinary consequences.
3.2 Lost or Stolen iPads
Students are required to enable the “find my iPad” feature upon receipt of the device. This feature will
prove very valuable in finding a lost or stolen iPad.

Loaner iPads may be issued to students when they leave their iPads for repair in the media center. There
may be a delay in getting an iPad should the school not have enough to loan.

3.5.2 A lock screen photo of the student must be used at all times.
3.6 Sound, Video, Music, and Apps
Each student participating in the C4WARD program will need to have a personal iTunes account.
The iTunes account will be the conduit through which apps are downloaded to the iPad. Student
iTunes accounts will be created using the student’s district Google account. iTunes cards are the
simplest way to add money to accounts if students want to add music or personal apps to their
account.
3.6.1 Sound must be muted at all times unless permission is obtained from the teacher
for instructional purposes. Ear buds or headphones must be purchased by the
student and their use is subject to individual classroom rules.
3.6.2 Appropriate videos and music are allowed on the iPad. The use of streaming apps
is prohibited. Earbuds and headphones may only be used upon individual teacher
approval. Students may not use earbuds or headphones in common areas
(lunchroom, hallways, bus loading areas, etc.)
