The Shift To Services: IT’s Role Transforming Higher Education
Shelton Waggener, Senior Vice President of Internet2, gave a presentation on the transformation of higher education and the role of IT. He discussed how factors like funding models, globalization, and new technologies are driving massive changes. Pedagogy is shifting to digital learning on a huge scale. IT organizations must adapt by gaining new skills to support digital education, cloud computing, and operating at greater scale across more locations. The future of higher education looks very different, and higher ed institutions must prepare for this transformation.
