The Urban Public Policy Fellowship (UPPF) program exposes historically underrepresented minority students at the University of Illinois at Chicago to public policy issues. Fellows are selected competitively based on GPA, leadership, and engagement. They attend weekly seminars on policy topics and complete internships at organizations working in policy, advocacy, and community development. The 2012-2013 cohort of 18 UPPF Fellows presented their work at a research conference. The program is administered through the Institute for Policy and Civic Engagement in partnership with other university programs.
