The teachers at Mossie Park school discussed what they enjoy about teaching. Many teachers said they love seeing the smiles on students' faces when they learn something new. Several teachers mentioned they find it rewarding to help students achieve their goals and make a positive difference in children's lives. Several also commented on enjoying fostering students' love of learning.

2. Mr John Wall I am so proud of our school: our hard-working, enthusiastic and high-achieving students; our dedicated, talented and caring staff; and our fantastic parents who do so much to support us.

3. Mrs Joanne Fisher I like making a real difference to children’s lives. I love hearing their stories, and sharing their dreams for the future.

4. Mrs Jenny Scott Nothing could be more rewarding than the opportunity to make a difference in the life of a child. I love the happy smiling faces as the children arrive each morning and the excitement when they learn something new. Where once my greatest pleasure was to see students master reading and numbers, now I have the pleasure of helping to provide programs and resources for students who face greater challenges. Thank you for entrusting your precious children to us!

5. Mrs Julie Carter I love the enthusiasm the children show towards learning and I find it challenging and enjoyable thinking of new and exciting ways to foster a love of learning in children. When children grasp a new concept I feel a sense of achievement and when children grow in confidence and ability I feel a sense of pride and gratitude that I am able to be part of it. I enjoy learning from and with my colleagues to be the best teacher I can be and Mossgiel Park is a positive learning environment for both staff and children alike.

6. Mrs Cathy Cavedon I love seeing children achieve and enjoy coming into my classroom. I love it when they say “Ohh, I understand now!” I love teaching science – I try to integrate it with a lot of work that I do with my students.

7. Mrs. Nella La Leggia What I enjoy most about my job is having the opportunity to be a positive influence in a young persons life and watching them gain confidence in themselves.

8. Mrs Kathy Coquet Working with children on the disability program is not only rewarding, seeing smiles on children’s faces, but inspiring to see children with such courage and determination to achieve their goals.

9. Ms Julie Evans Kids are the most precious gift in life. I love teaching, and in particular - I love teaching children.  My favourite subjects to teach are ICT, English, Maths & Music. I love it when a child discovers that they understand something! The “Aha,” or “I get it!” moment. That’s a real buzz for me. I love working with children to discover a love of learning for themselves. It’s been 21 years and I still love teaching – especially here at Mossie Park!

10. Mrs Claire Faulkner I love teaching music, reading, interpersonal skills, computers, maths, and our theme work. I find it exciting and rewarding when children make the right choices in order to become better learners and individuals. It is the result of the challenging and hard work that we do in order to make a difference in a child’s life that inspires me and my teaching.

11. Ms Kara Fisher As the Library technician I am able to process all of the new books we have in the library. I love how the children are so enthusiastic towards reading and borrowing books, especially when they are excited about books that I read and enjoyed as a child.

12. Mrs Judy Fricke I love teaching – I love to watch the children learning and being part of that learning.

13. Mrs Marilyn Gardner I love teaching because of the children. One of my greatest pleasures is seeing them succeed - at any level - and watching the joy on their faces.

15. Mrs Valmai Gill Being involved in the children’s daily learning is very exciting and satisfying.

16. Mrs Jane Grenfell I love being involved in the education of our children. Purely because they are our future and without doing our best as teachers we cannot expect our children to do their BEST as an individual in their lives. My passion is to see that the children of MPPS leave our school and enter Year 7 confident and proud of their achievements. I hope that they would have developed a good work ethic and belief that they can achieve anything in the world, as long as they never forget to believe in themselves and that they are very special people.

17. Mrs Alison Hamblin I love to watch a child’s face glow as they begin to really understand something new. That is the moment when they think “I can do that!” To be part of that journey is an honour.

18. Mrs Kate Hardy I love actually working with the children. I like seeing the look on their faces when they finally understand something!

19. Ms Lisa Hill I love reading stories, and talking about them afterwards with the children. I love teaching a unit of work that I've spent a long time planning -and seeing the students being really interested in the topic.

20. Mrs Gerda Huinink I love working with small children because of their delightful innocence and enthusiasm for learning. It’s wonderful to see how much progress they make in just one year!
