Even though the health care industry is growing the mal-distribution of health care is still evident in some rural areas. This factor of not having proper care delivered to impoverish neighborhoods and communities is another issue that still plagues the United States. David Cutler the online journal reporter for PBS News Hour stated, “About 10, 15 percent. Just to give you one example, Duke University Hospital has 900 hospital beds and 1,300 billing clerks. The typical Canadian hospital has a handful of billing clerks. Single-payer systems have fewer administrative needs. That’s not to say they’re better, but that’s just on one dimension that they clearly cost less. What a lot of those people are doing in America is they are figuring out how to bill different insurers for different systems, figuring out how to collect money from people, all of that sort of stuff” (2013). As well as the contextual environment, interactions and delays in supplying and balancing health resources and configuring clinical services are required to address the geographic, profession-specific and quality imbalances. These supply side resources include knowledge and research, skills and attitudes of clinicians, buildings and equipment, medications and medical technologies, information and communications technologies and any other methods and models to improve the provision of clinical services. Why Are Nurses Leaving? Findings
From an Initial Qualitative Study on
Nursing Attrition
In the United States, nursing workforce projections indicate the registerednurse (RN) shortage may exceed 500,000 RNs by 2025 (American
Association of Colleges of Nursing [AACN], 2010; Cipriano, 2006; U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services, 2002). In 2008, the national RN
vacancy rate in the United States was greater than 8% (AACN, 2010).
Evidence suggests experiences as a newly licensed RN directly impact indi-
vidual perceptions related to the profession (Cowin & Hengstberger-Sims,
2006). An estimated 30%-50% of all new RNs elect either to change positions
or leave nursing completely within the first 3 years of clinical practice
(AACN, 2003; Aiken, Clarke, Sloane, Sochalski, & Silber, 2002; Cipriano, 2006;
Cowin & Hengstberger-Sims, 2006). While an abundance of data exist regard-
ing the RN who stays at the bedside, few studies have explored the percep-
tions of the RN who decides to leave clinical nursing. Understanding factors
associated with RNs’ practice decisions is the first step necessary in devel-
oping effective nursing-retention strategies.
Purpose
The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing the
decision of RNs to leave clinical nursing practice. Nurses who had elected
to leave clinical nursing were interviewed at the setting of their choice.
Previous clinical nursing experience included a variety of clinical practice
settings. For this study, the term clinical nursing is defined as providing
direct patient care in the hospital setting.
Background
Limited data exist about individuals no longer employed in nursing; no
literature was found about the perceptions or decision-making processes of
RNs no longer in clinical practice. A review of the literature was conducted
searching nursing, medical, labor, and psychological/sociological databas-
es. Years of search ended with 2007, the year of the interviews. A broad
search began with GoogleScholar® and was narrowed to include CINAHL,
MEDline, PsycINFO, and LexisNexis. Several issues concerning practice
decisions are associated with the current nursing shortage, including job
dissatisfaction (Aiken et al., 2002; Buerhaus, Donelan, Ulrich, Norman, &
Dittus, 2005), an aging workforce coupled with increased demands
(Auerbach, Buerhaus, & Staiger, 2007), and problematic relationships
among members of the health care team (Aiken et al., 2002). While these fac-
tors may lead to increased nursing attrition, they have not been explored

The paper will put into focus the aspect associated with the shortage of nursing staff in the healthcare system of the United States of America. It is evident that the shortage of nursing professionals in the country has resulted in an escalation of LTAC that is Long Term Acute Care patients who are of forty years and above. It is evident that the shortage has resulted in such patients staying in the health facilities for a prolonged period of time of about five months. Staying in a health facility for that prolonged period of time has not had a positive effect on the health of the patients and instead, it has resulted in their health decrementing to low levels
.
Population Problem
The shortage of nurses in the USA has had drastic effects on the healthcare system. Additionally, the ratio of nursing professionals to that of the patients is not equivalent as per the set legal, policy and management standards needed to ensure that the quality of healthcare disseminated to the patients is sufficient. The shortage has been contributed by the increase in demand for better healthcare, a decline in the number of experienced nurses’ professionals and also a decline in the number of registered nurses. The high rate of nurses’ turnover has also led to a decline in the number of nurses. Research indicates that in every three nurses one drops out of the profession after working for an estimated period of two years (Burns, & Grove, 2011). Additionally, it is also evident that one out of five nurses drop out of the profession in cases where the nurses work under stressful environments. Forecasts have indicated that the problem may escalate in years to come especially due to the fact that the demand for better healthcare will not be met by the supply of nursing professionals. The problem has affected a number of healthcare facilities that have seen them being closed due to a decline in nature and the quality of the services being offered. This has led to a decline in the ratio of nurses to the patients. The problem has also led to overworking of nurses especially in facilities that focus mainly on chronic illnesses (Burns, & Grove, 2011

Intervention
In the case, an evidence-based approach can be used in finding an intervention. The research will put into consideration six hospitals and the data will be collected based on a random sampling of the respondents. The respondents will be chosen from the nurses' population in the highlighted facilities and will be used in trying to come up with solutions for the problem (Marć, Bartosiewicz, Burzyńska, Chmiel, & Januszewicz, 2019

From an Initial Qualitative Study on
Nursing Attrition
In the United States, nursing workforce projections indicate the registerednurse (RN) shortage may exceed 500,000 RNs by 2025 (American
Association of Colleges of Nursing [AACN], 2010; Cipriano, 2006; U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services, 2002). In 2008, the national RN
vacancy rate in the United States was greater than 8% (AACN, 2010).
Evidence suggests experiences as a newly licensed RN directly impact indi-
vidual perceptions related to the profession (Cowin & Hengstberger-Sims,
2006). An estimated 30%-50% of all new RNs elect either to change positions
or leave nursing completely within the first 3 years of clinical practice
(AACN, 2003; Aiken, Clarke, Sloane, Sochalski, & Silber, 2002; Cipriano, 2006;
Cowin & Hengstberger-Sims, 2006). While an abundance of data exist regard-
ing the RN who stays at the bedside, few studies have explored the percep-
tions of the RN who decides to leave clinical nursing. Understanding factors
associated with RNs’ practice decisions is the first step necessary in devel-
oping effective nursing-retention strategies.
Purpose
The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing the
decision of RNs to leave clinical nursing practice. Nurses who had elected
to leave clinical nursing were interviewed at the setting of their choice.
Previous clinical nursing experience included a variety of clinical practice
settings. For this study, the term clinical nursing is defined as providing
direct patient care in the hospital setting.
Background
Limited data exist about individuals no longer employed in nursing; no
literature was found about the perceptions or decision-making processes of
RNs no longer in clinical practice. A review of the literature was conducted
searching nursing, medical, labor, and psychological/sociological databas-
es. Years of search ended with 2007, the year of the interviews. A broad
search began with GoogleScholar® and was narrowed to include CINAHL,
MEDline, PsycINFO, and LexisNexis. Several issues concerning practice
decisions are associated with the current nursing shortage, including job
dissatisfaction (Aiken et al., 2002; Buerhaus, Donelan, Ulrich, Norman, &
Dittus, 2005), an aging workforce coupled with increased demands
(Auerbach, Buerhaus, & Staiger, 2007), and problematic relationships
among members of the health care team (Aiken et al., 2002). While these fac-
tors may lead to increased nursing attrition, they have not been explored

Evidently, the use of EBP in healthcare mostly relies on the available qualitative and quantitative data which is supported by scientific or clinical research. In studying the EBP, quantitative data is used to enhance qualitative information and vice versa, because one method complements the other one (Tappen, 2015, p.88). For example, in the selected article the EBP about beliefs and behaviors of nurses showed that the number of the nurses who were certified vs. nurses who were not certified explained why some of the nurses have higher perceived EBP implementation than others (Eaton, Meins, Mitchell, Voss, & Doorenbos, 2015, “Evidence-Based Practice Beliefs and Behaviors”). Abstract
Case studies which are done in the field of medicine work towards improving the health of the population. There are some of the parts contained in case studies which are abstract, results, limitations of results, conclusions, and applications. The common statistical methods used in research are descriptive numerical and qualitative thematic analyses. The results of the studies show that equal participation of individuals in the health sector will help boost public health. Limitations of results are that although some strategies may work towards improving health sector, not all of them are effective.
Public health is an important sector in any country for it directly affects the economy of the nation. There need to be certain ways which should be employed with the aim of supporting and improving public health. In this paper, I am going to examine 4 contemporary peer-reviewed articles which employ quantitative or mixed-methods concerning ways on how to improve the health of the public. The interest of the paper is to aid in achieving the best impact in public health sector via using programs which will improve health outcomes drastically. Enhancement of public health will in return help to improve the well-being of populations across the world. Public health awareness on how to avoid unhealthy lifestyles should be created.
In the articles, samples and populations used were appropriate for it showed the real representative of the population at hand. All the samples used in the 4-contemporary peer-reviewed articles fulfilled the rule of thumb hence making them appropriate. The samples used were suitable for they were used to estimate the population parameters for it stood for the entire inhabitants. The samples used were larger but not too large to consume more resources of money and time. The larger sample has helped to produce accurate results making the samples valid and appropriate. The appropriateness of the samples used in these articles, it has been proved via usage of target variance. In using target variance an estimate to be derived from the model eventually attained.
Each article which has been used includes having results, limitations of results, conclusions, and applications. The first contemporary peer-reviewed article is entitled, Refugee women’s involvements of maternity-care facilities in Canada: a methodical review using a description synthesis written by Gina MA Higginbottom, Myfanwy Morgan, Miranda Alexandre, Yvonne Chiu, Joan Forgeron, Deb Kocay and Rubina Barolia. Stratification of clinical survey data
Data stratification is the process of partitioning the data into distinct and non-overlapping groups since the
study population consists of subpopulations that are of particular interest. In clinical data, once the data is
stratified into sub populations based on a significant stratifying factor, different risk factors can be
determined from each subpopulation. In this paper, the Fisher’s Exact Test is used to determine the
significant stratifying factors. The experiments are conducted on a simulated study and the Medical,
Epidemiological and Social Aspects of Aging (MESA) data constructed for prediction of urinary
incontinence. Results show that, smoking is the most significant stratifying factor of MESA data, showing
that the smokers and non-smokers indicates different risk factors towards urinary incontinence and should
be treated differently.

Short-term goals and their impact
The short-term goals that I will set include; becoming a certified board member, choosing the patient population to serve as well as evaluating potential employers carefully. Becoming a certified board member will help me become more confident as a nursing practitioner, as well as boost my marketability in the competitive industry. In an effort to ensure that I become a certified board member in record time, I will undertake to apply for the exams before I leave RN and ensure that I am able to sit for them within three or four months after application.
The selection of the patient population encompasses the finding of the perfect position from which I will be able to grow and I will thus have to decide on a specific population that I will serve such as cardiac or the old age people. This will help ensure I am able to easily network within that given specialty area. The third goal that I will set is critical evaluation of the potential employers in which I will undertake to ask about job expectations, such as work hours, patients to be served as well as growth opportunities such as training programs. Planning for Data Collection
Evidence-based practice is a theory that consists of using research to guide decision making in clinical and nursing settings. For research to be reliable and have validity a significant amount of data collection must first be collected. Whether a research project is using quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods design, it is essential to determine what types of information is needed. Due to the emphasis on patient satisfaction in the healthcare world at this time, it is crucial to evaluate how that care is being delivered (Krietz, Winters & Pedowitz, 2016). In this post, I will discuss using a survey method to obtain information representative of the population within a clinic setting.
In the example, I am a nurse working in a local primary care facility which sees thousands of patients annually. To make better clinical decisions regarding patient care and satisfaction, five questions have been created to elicit feedback. The questions are as follows:
1. Did you feel the wait time to be seen in the office was appropriate?
2. During your visit, did you feel the nurses and staff listened to your concerns and treated you with courtesy and respect?
3. Did the provider spend enough time listening, discussing care, and answering your questions?
4. Based on your experience today, would you recommend our clinic to someone you know?
5. In your opinion, what could our clinic have done better?
To obtain structured data that is self-reported and applicable to the clinic’s objectives, it is vital to determine which instrument would work best for the clientele. Self-report methods can extract information from patients that might otherwise be difficult to get (Polit & Beck, 2017). Allowing the freedom to report their experiences and feelings increases confidence in the clinic’s desire to meet their needs. If researchers know what data they want to obtain, a structured approach with some open-ended and closed questions can garner the information needed to make significant changes (Polit & Beck, 2017). Using a mixture of questions is an attempt to include all patients.
For this scenario, the questionnaire is a sampling of both types of questions and is the most popular method (Keough & Tanabe, 2011). The study will be given to individuals 18 and over. The questionnaire and a pen will be given to the patient by the nurse prior at the start of their appointment with the physician. An explanation of the questionnaire will be provided with instructions to return their questionnaire to the drop-box on the countertop in the room after their exam. The goal for participation is 500 patient responses over six months. Responses will be collected and responses logged into the computer on Fridays by the nurse manager. After the six months, results will be calculated, and staff will be informed of the result.

Nursing research uncovers new knowledge to help build the foundation of clinical practice. Research can help prevent diseases and disabilities, help manage symptoms, establish new treatment plans and improve nursing skills. This is why nurses need to be able to participate in and analyze research, as this can bring positive outcomes to their careers and the health of their patients. There are two different types of research, quantitative and qualitative, that provide information and data. For this assignment, I chose one qualitative research that focuses on the stress and burnout experienced by nursing professionals and one quantitative analysis that explores nurses’ knowledge regarding hand hygiene. Each study will be evaluated thoroughly and analyzed.
Qualitative Research
The definition of qualitative research can be challenging. Qualitative research involves collecting and analyzing non-numerical data to understand concepts, opinions, or experiences (Morgan et al., 2021). This form of research explores deeper insights into real-world problems in an emergent and holistic way. Qualitative data can be collected using various methods such as interviews, focus groups, observations, and documentation analysis (Hoover, 2021). Qualitative research has been used in nursing for many years, but it was not the first method used in nursing. Before quantitative research, philosophical methods such as hermeneutics and phenomenology were the only options for professional inquiry (Butts & Rich, 2017). However, it was changed to qualitative research because its ways were incompatible with science. There are three major approaches to qualitative research, (1) ethnography, based on anthropology, (2) phenomenology, drawn from philosophy; and (3) grounded theory, drawn from sociology (Morgan et al., 2021). The use of qualitative studies is common due to its many strengths, such as providing multiple methods of data collection, more detailed information, and how it can refine and strengthen quantitative research. However, some of the limitations of this form of research are difficulty analyzing and collecting data while being more time-consuming.
Evaluating and Analyzing a Selected Qualitative Study
For the example of the qualitative study, I chose Luis M. Dos Santos's study, which focused on the effects of stress, burnout, and low self-efficacy in nursing professionals. The quantitative research aimed to understand and explore how social and environmental factors influence nursing professionals’ self-efficacy. In the study, the Social Cognitive Theory was used to define how each subject was affected based on their thoughts, behaviors, feeling, and personal beliefs (Dos Santos, 2020). As several study findings showedthatnursing career is not respected career, society have negative view to the nursing profession. Because of this image students don’t want to choose nursing as their profession. On other hand some study results says that nursing students are motivated by extrinsic factor such as good salary, stability and low stress.

As we know, photography carries the power to inspire, educate, horrify and compel its viewers to
take action. Images evoke strong and often public emotions, as people frequently formulate their
opinions, judgments and behaviors in response to visual stimuli. Because of this, photography
can wield substantial control over public perception and discourse.
Moreover, photography in our digital age permits us to deliver complex information about
remote conditions which can be rapidly distributed and effortlessly processed by the viewer.
Recently, we’ve witnessed the profound impact of photography coupled with social media:
together, they have fueled political movements and brought down a corrupt government.
Photography can - and has - changed the course of history.
Ethical Considerations
Those who commission and create photography of marginalized populations to further an
organizations’ mission possess a tremendous responsibility. Careful ethical consideration should
be given to all aspects of the photography supply chain: its planning, creation, and distribution.
When planning a photography campaign, it is important to examine the motives for creating
particular images and their potential impact. Not only must a faithful, comprehensive visual
depiction of the subjects be created to avoid causing misconception, but more importantly, the
subjects’ dignity must be preserved. Words and images that elicit an emotional response by their
sheer shock value (e.g. starving, skeletal children covered in flies) are harmful because they
exploit the subjects’ condition in order to generate sympathy for increasing charitable donations
or support for a given cause. In addition to violating privacy and human rights, this so-called
'poverty porn’ is harmful to those it is trying to aid because it evokes the idea that the
marginalized are helpless and incapable of helping themselves, thereby cultivating a culture of
paternalism. Poverty porn is also detrimental because it is degrading, dishonoring and robs
people of their dignity. While it is important to illustrate the challenges of a population, one must
always strive to tell stories in a way that honors the subjects’ circumstances, and (ideally)
illustrates hope for their plight.
Legal issues
Legal issues are more clear cut when images are created or used in stable countries where legal
precedent for photography use has been established. Image use and creation becomes far more
murky and problematic in countries in which law and order is vague or even nonexistent.

the thousands of reports and articles on the topic is that we
