Family Readiness Group Room Reservations: If you are a Family Readiness Group Leader and are in need to reserve a free room for your FRG
meetings/events then Army Community Service is the place to go! All you need to do is:
1. Call the ACS staff at 785-239-9000/9435 to see if the date/time being requested is available. Please, let the staff know the estimated
attendance so that they can make sure the room size is adequate for the meeting/event.
2. You can also:
     a. Email your request to: usarmy.riley.imcom.mbx.acs-fsp@mail.mil
     b. Drop it off at ACS located at 7264 Normandy Drive, Custer Hill
     c. Fax it to: 785-239-9548

1ID Newcomers Welcome at Quarters 1: Please send the attached invitation out to all spouses who are new to the Division since October 1st.
Guests will need to RSVP by May 4th, please no late RSVPs. You may RSVP to me (if you RSVP to me, then I will need to let Stacie Dumas know

Event: Sesame Street comes to Fort Riley
Who: USO/MWR
What: MWR needs nine volunteers on each date and time to set up and/or tear down the event. This will involve heavy lifting, please wear
appropriate footwear such as steel toed shoes/boots.
When: Monday, June 18 at 0830, Tuesday, June 19 @ 1830.

Fort Riley Middle School will be holding a FREE PHYSICAL CLINIC with Irwin Army Community Hospital on May 15th & 16th here at FRMS
(4020 1st Division Rd.) Any 6TH, 7TH, OR 8TH grade students playing sports next school year will be allowed to make an appointment. Physicals
will be given in 15 minute increments in the South Gym and will be held from 8:00am to 11:30am on both days. Parents are REQUIRED TO
ACCOMPANY their student to their physical. Students will be called down to the gym once their appointment time is available. If you are
interested in setting up an appointment please call the Athletic Secretary at 785-717-4519 to save your 15min time slot. Please have students
first and last name and sponsors last 4 of social ready when calling.

Fort Riley Police Dept- Ever wondered what really goes on within the police department? Well now you will have an opportunity to find out.
Sign up to take part in the Community Police Academy. Fort Riley's Directorate of Emergency Services and Fire and Emergency Services will
begin the six-week academy May 3 at the newly remodeled police station, Building 219 on Main Post. The academy will entail a tour of the
facility; identify the capabilities and mission of police department; (and provide) classroom and practical instruction on topics such as criminal
law, use of force, police and traffic accident investigations, vehicle operations and traffic enforcement, Special Reaction Team operations,
unarmed self defense and weapons handling using our weapons simulation program. The target audience is any Fort Riley community member
– Soldier, Family member or civilian – 18 years of age or older, who is interested in learning more about their police department. The academy
will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm every Thursday, from May 3 to June 21. The course will end with a ride along with members of the Fort Riley

Ammunition Amnesty Days 2012: In conjunction with Post Wide cleanup efforts and IAW DA PAM 710-2-1, Fort Riley DOL will conduct
Ammunition Amnesty Days, Thursday May 03 2012 from 0800-1500 and Thursday May 17 2012 from 0800-1500 at the Fort Riley Ammunition
Supply Point, Bldg 918. The ASP is located on Caisson Hill Road, 1.4 miles north of Irwin Army Community Hospital and/or approximately 200
yards south of the intersection of Williston Point and Caisson Hill Roads. This program provides military and civilian personnel an avenue to
anonymously return ammunition and explosives to government control. These items will be taken with no questions asked. Ammunition Residue
- Fired brass, flare components, ammo cans, and other metal iron expended ammunition will be turned in to the ASP. Asphalt impregnated
cardboard tubes, cloth bandoleers, and fiber packing will be disposed of in refuse dumpsters. Wood crating material and inert wood
ammunition boxes may be disposed of at the C/D landfill. LIVE AMMUNITION WILL NOT BE DISPOSED OF AT THE C/D LANDFILL OR IN THE
REFUSE DUMPSTERS. If in doubt, mark the munitions and call Range Support (239-4281/4200). For more information contact the Installation

Camp Corral- Camp Corral still has openings for about 40 more kids. Make sure you reserve your child/children’s spot. Camp dates are July 15-
20 and children must be between the ages of 8 and 15. To register please go to www.campcorral.org ** Camp Corral is also looking for
volunteers to work approximately 4 hours a day (can be morning/afternoons/evenings). They are also in need of teen volunteers to help with
Cabin Counselors (must be at least 16, this is a great opportunity for a junior looking to earn volunteer hours for graduation). For more

* Fort Riley Skeet and Trap Range will host the Skeet and Trap Shooting League until May 16. For more information, call 785-239-2363

*The Fort Riley Marina is now open till to Sept. 3. Operating hours are from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fridays and Mondays; and from 7 a.m. to sunset,
Saturdays and Sundays. On-site boat and jet ski rentals will be ready to hit the lake. For more information, call 785-463-5253.

* Fort Riley has an automated check-in-out system, iSportsman. Staff members will be present to assist with registering in the new iSportsman
system. Individuals wishing to register prior may do so at the Fort Riley iSportsman webpage at www.fortriley.isportsman.net. All persons
recreating in a training area at Fort Riley will use the iSportsman website while accessing Fort Riley. Activities include hunting, fishing, hiking,
canoeing and kayaking, mushroom collecting, fuelwood cutting, biking, horseback riding and other activities. Check-in and Check-out may be
done with any personal device with Internet access or visit the iSportsman Kiosk located at 1st Division and Vinton School roads or visit the
Environmental Division Office, Building 407, during normal business hours. Fort Riley iSportsman is the new standard and must be used by all
persons recreating in a training area at Fort Riley in accordance with FR 210-15. For more information, contact the Environmental Division at

CLEAN YOUR CLOSETS OUT!!! The Postwide Yard Sale will be from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 19 throughout Fort Riley.

Fort Riley Aquatics is offering numerous lifeguard training courses this spring. The course cost is $200 and includes all course materials. Please
call 785-239-4854 to schedule a pretest. Pretest must be passed prior to first day of class. Class dates are: Session 3: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., May 4 to 6;
4 to 8 p.m. – May 7 to 9 Session 4: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., May 12, 13, 19, 20.


Fort Riley Custer Hill Lanes Bowling Update: This information has recently been updated, and is now available. Custer Hill Bowling Center will

Calling all Race Fans! Heartland Park is excited to announce the inaugural SPEEDFEST 2012: Heartland Park Topeka is excited to announce the
inaugural SPEEDFEST 2012 event to celebrate racing in Topeka E very summer the nitro returns to Topeka at Heartland Park for the NHRA
Dollar General Summernationals. To kick off this year’s event, May 18-20, Heartland Park is offering a free, public fan fest in downtown Topeka
to celebrate racing in America’s heartland. The event is called SPEEDFEST 2012. This free event will block off 8th street in downtown Topeka
between Kansas Ave. and Quincy and will feature numerous race cars on display including NHRA Top Fuel cars, dirt track cars, motorcycles and
more. Fans will enjoy event activities including music, food, fan giveaways, and a kid’s zone, among others. The highlight of the day will give
fans a chance to meet some of the fastest drivers in the world during an autograph session with some of the greatest of NHRA racing. “This will
be an exciting event to celebrate racing in Topeka,” said Joe Douthitt General Manager of Heartland Park Topeka. “SPEEDFEST is a great way to
kick off the NHRA race weekend and give fans the opportunity to see a variety of race cars up close and get an autograph from NHRA stars. We
invite all of Topeka and surrounding communities to come see what all of the excitement is all about. SPEEDFEST definitely has the potential to
become an annual event in downtown Topeka. ” SPEEDFEST will take place on the Thursday (May 17) before the NHRA Dollar General
Summernationals at Heartland Park in downtown Topeka on 8th Street between Kansas Ave. and Quincy from 11 am to 8 pm. NHRA driver
appearances begin at 5 pm. Key organizations participating in the planning of this event include Downtown Topeka, Inc., Coca-Cola, Cumulus
Broadcasting of Topeka, WIBW-TV and NHRA. Other corporate supporters of the event include Heartland Park Topeka’s Official Partners:
O’Reilly Auto Parts, BriggsAuto.com, Kansas Lottery, Kansas Army National Guard, Stormont-Vail HealthCare, Budweiser and CoreFirst Bank &

Event: T.A.P.S Good Grief Camp for Children of Fallen Soldiers Who: Survivor Outreach Services (SOS) What: 15 - 20 good Soldiers (in ACU’s) who would like to spend a day with the child of a fallen Soldier.   • 4. What: MWR needs nine volunteers on each date and time to set up and/or tear down the event. This will involve heavy lifting, please wear appropriate footwear such as steel toed shoes/boots. When: Monday, June 18 at 0830, Tuesday, June 19 @ 1830. With great appreciation for all that you do, Vicky Fort Riley Middle School will be holding a FREE PHYSICAL CLINIC with Irwin Army Community Hospital on May 15th & 16th here at FRMS (4020 1st Division Rd.) Any 6TH, 7TH, OR 8TH grade students playing sports next school year will be allowed to make an appointment. Physicals will be given in 15 minute increments in the South Gym and will be held from 8:00am to 11:30am on both days. Parents are REQUIRED TO ACCOMPANY their student to their physical. Students will be called down to the gym once their appointment time is available. If you are interested in setting up an appointment please call the Athletic Secretary at 785-717-4519 to save your 15min time slot. Please have students first and last name and sponsors last 4 of social ready when calling. Fort Riley Police Dept- Ever wondered what really goes on within the police department? Well now you will have an opportunity to find out. Sign up to take part in the Community Police Academy. Fort Riley's Directorate of Emergency Services and Fire and Emergency Services will begin the six-week academy May 3 at the newly remodeled police station, Building 219 on Main Post. The academy will entail a tour of the facility; identify the capabilities and mission of police department; (and provide) classroom and practical instruction on topics such as criminal law, use of force, police and traffic accident investigations, vehicle operations and traffic enforcement, Special Reaction Team operations, unarmed self defense and weapons handling using our weapons simulation program. The target audience is any Fort Riley community member – Soldier, Family member or civilian – 18 years of age or older, who is interested in learning more about their police department. The academy
  • 5. will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm every Thursday, from May 3 to June 21. The course will end with a ride along with members of the Fort Riley Police Department. Ammunition Amnesty Days 2012: In conjunction with Post Wide cleanup efforts and IAW DA PAM 710-2-1, Fort Riley DOL will conduct Ammunition Amnesty Days, Thursday May 03 2012 from 0800-1500 and Thursday May 17 2012 from 0800-1500 at the Fort Riley Ammunition Supply Point, Bldg 918. The ASP is located on Caisson Hill Road, 1.4 miles north of Irwin Army Community Hospital and/or approximately 200 yards south of the intersection of Williston Point and Caisson Hill Roads. This program provides military and civilian personnel an avenue to anonymously return ammunition and explosives to government control. These items will be taken with no questions asked. Ammunition Residue - Fired brass, flare components, ammo cans, and other metal iron expended ammunition will be turned in to the ASP. Asphalt impregnated cardboard tubes, cloth bandoleers, and fiber packing will be disposed of in refuse dumpsters. Wood crating material and inert wood ammunition boxes may be disposed of at the C/D landfill. LIVE AMMUNITION WILL NOT BE DISPOSED OF AT THE C/D LANDFILL OR IN THE REFUSE DUMPSTERS. Heartland Park is excited to announce the inaugural SPEEDFEST 2012: Heartland Park Topeka is excited to announce the inaugural SPEEDFEST 2012 event to celebrate racing in Topeka E very summer the nitro returns to Topeka at Heartland Park for the NHRA Dollar General Summernationals. To kick off this year’s event, May 18-20, Heartland Park is offering a free, public fan fest in downtown Topeka to celebrate racing in America’s heartland. The event is called SPEEDFEST 2012. This free event will block off 8th street in downtown Topeka between Kansas Ave. and Quincy and will feature numerous race cars on display including NHRA Top Fuel cars, dirt track cars, motorcycles and more. Fans will enjoy event activities including music, food, fan giveaways, and a kid’s zone, among others. The highlight of the day will give fans a chance to meet some of the fastest drivers in the world during an autograph session with some of the greatest of NHRA racing. “This will be an exciting event to celebrate racing in Topeka,” said Joe Douthitt General Manager of Heartland Park Topeka. “SPEEDFEST is a great way to kick off the NHRA race weekend and give fans the opportunity to see a variety of race cars up close and get an autograph from NHRA stars.
