DRAFT OF ACTION RESEARCH PLAN
Draft of Action Research Plan
In doing a research, it is important to select an area of focus based on individual interest
since it will help in generating research questions that are answerable and lead to problem
solution. Without a clear area of focus, it may not be easy to generate research questions and
research objectives. It can also lead to many problems during research.
Area of Focus Statement
The purpose of this study is to focus on improvement of the IEP process on an
individualized basis and the need for IEP team members to be aware of the significance of
individualized assessments. The reason is that, IEP process is important for students with
disabilities since it helps them to succeed in learning and education. It is therefore important to
find ways of improving the IEP process in order to meet the needs of each individual student
(Wright & Wright, 2007).
Problem – Interest
The IEP is important for all the students with disabilities since the process helps them to
learn and succeed in their education goals and also in achieving their post-school goals. Without
developing IEP, teacher-student interaction may not help a student in achieving his or her life
goals because all the needs of each student (McDonnell, Hardman & McDonnell, 2010).
Through the observations that I have made, observing the students with disabilities in the
school context, I have noticed that IEP process that is used for most of students with special
needs is usually generalized process. In the IEP process used, there is very little attention that is
being paid to individual student. Since the generalized process does not fully meet the needs of
each individual student, they not fully explore their potential and does not achieve al, their life

goals. From this personal experience, I feel that to truly be individualized, the needs, interests
and preference, hopes and desires of each student must be taken into consideration.
Problem – Background
Through the experience that I have had within the school context, I have noticed several
things that pertains students with special needs. The way students with special needs are treated
by the teacher and other students in the school is so different. All the students with special needs
have been secluded and are being thought in a different classroo.

The result of the research showed that empowerment to teachers in implementing thematic learning is not significant. The trend of competence is 0.152 + 0.716 Motivation (Competence = 0.152 + 0.716 Motivation). It can be explained that “Each increasing of 1 point of motivation can increases 0.716 of competence

Unit One Reflection
For this week’s journal entry reflect on your teaching experience. In both the Marzano and Jones textbooks, the authors stress the importance of focusing on classroom policies and procedures at the beginning of the school year in order to achieve a good start. How closely do you attend to the types of procedures discussed by these authors and what might you do differently in terms of planning and instructing in the future as a result of the readings? I work with students who are only assigned to my caseload; therefore I’m not closely involved in school wide/teacher planning. However, at times I participate in Intervention meetings with the Principal, Assistant Principal, teacher(s), School psychologist, School social worker and sometimes the parent. During the meetings, I offer strategies for classroom management behaviors. If a student is a candidate for ADHD or any disability, I arrange for psychological testing to assess whether possible ADHD or emotional factors are interfering with the student’s academic performance, provide feedback to the parents, and school officials regarding the psychological evaluation. I also consult with parents and school officials about designing effective learning programs for intervention strategies that build on his strengths and compensate weaknesses.
Unit Two Reflection
The "Dealing with the Dilemma of Gum Chewing" case study provides an example of how we can teach productive behaviors. After completing this week's reading, reflect on where this type of strategy might apply in your setting.
•Have you encountered situations in your setting where this approach may be more productive than what you have been doing? In the Kindergarten class, the students continue to struggle with picking up cut paper. Instead of having the students cut paper, the teacher showed the class how to fold the paper and use the edge of their desk to cut. After several times of redirecting, the students were able to begin using the scissors again. The students developed a system in the class where 1 person from each table (red, blue, purple, yellow) collects the paper straps.
•What are the ethical issues involved in establishing expectations without teaching the appropriate expected behaviors? Ethical issues continue to be an ongoing issue today in schools and without providing detailed expectations teachers leaves room for issues and concerns. Misinforming, consents, students getting hurt, etc. could happen. Students could always say they were not informed and the responsibility falls back on the teacher. I think in this situation communication is vital.
Unit Three Reflection
During Unit 2, you designed Mini-Intervention 1. For this unit's journal reflection, take time to reflect on how well or how poorly the intervention is working. Reflect on your learning’s so far in the course in the area of managing unproductive behaviors.

Introduction
An investigation was conducted, focusing on, the performance of teachers and their teaching techniques in local area schools. The Education for Prosperity Centers helped in conducting this research, as they have been offering advanced training to teachers for several years, and they were of great help with the evaluation process. The Education for Prosperity Center (EPC) is a private organization. It is a non-profit making body. Established in 2001, EPC has seen tremendous development in the line of training teachers as well as providing better teaching methods. Seeing higher performances of students in other school area’s, after teachers have been through The Education for Prosperity Centers training, is a sign of a tremendous development being achieved by the center. The organization is a certified body, registered under the Ministry of Education Science and Technology. The goals of The Education for Prosperity Center is to provide the teachers with the tools required for problem solving, management, reasoning and thinking, so that they can continue to transfer better knowledge to the students.
Statement of the problem
The Education for Prosperity Center has a purpose of offering these further training sessions to teachers if needed. It seeks to address the problems faced by the teachers teaching methods. This investigation focused on the teachers because the results/performance of the students in these local area schools have been going down at an alarming rate over the past year. The investigation was done to seek out if the reason for the lower performances of students was indeed due to the lack of teaching skills needed in order for the students to succeed. The drop in the performance is thought to be as a result of the majority of teachers lacking the required skills and knowledge in their disciplines. In the past, EPC has found that teachers are faced with issues related to poor teaching methods, lack of proper counseling skills, poor ways of relating to students, and use of irrelevant teaching-learning resources (Hagger, McIntyre, Wilkin & Wilkin, 2013).
The Education for Prosperity Center has been tasked with the work of carrying out research on those factors affecting both the students and teachers. This body has been chosen to help out because it has been offering advance training to teachers with positive results. Since it has many years’ experience of dealing with teachers, it will be easier for this body to investigate the problems, and come up with a better solution to resolve any and all issues that may need to be addressed. The Educational for Prosperity Center used various.

Epidemiological Rationale for Topic:
The age of the individual between the years 10 to 19 is named the age of adolescence, and this age period has fast physical and cognitive growth. Many social and public health problems have been noted to start. They are at peak during this developmental period, which includes road accidents that can also drive when drunk, suicide, homicide, smoking, drug abuse, sexually transmitted diseases, unplanned pregnancies, and homelessness. (Healthy People, 2016).
Nursing Diagnosis:
The individuals show their willingness to adopt a healthy lifestyle and behavior as they show an increased desire to adopt a healthy lifestyle and behavior (NANDA, n.d).
Readiness for Learning:
The participants are showing their emotional willingness to adapt healthy behavior as they show their keen interest in learning new topics about health that are beneficial for their mental and physical health and warmly welcoming new people in their class. On the basis of eloquence and the displayed skill, the group can adapt and learn new things, which will enhance their healthy behaviors.
Learning Theory to Be Utilized:
For making the learning methodology better, both social learning and critical theory are employed. Through employing critical theory, individuals will be better able to exchange their knowledge about different health-related topics which will motivate the individuals about adopting a healthy lifestyle and behavior, and the individuals will also have a positive attitude towards welcoming new ideas about how they could lead a healthy lifestyle by adopting a healthy behavior. On the other hand, social theory will encourage the individuals about how they could implement a healthy lifestyle in their everyday lives, which will reduce many risks and have a safe and healthy life.

2. Giving some mathematical questions to the learner
Strategies Summary
The strategies chosen can establish an environment of learning in different ways. Directly involving the learner during the discussion fosters a good learning by bringing close the attention of the learner. The learner would not divert his/her attention. This would establish a good teacher-learner relationship. Giving tasks and assignments helps to establish a favorable learning environment. The learner would be eager to learn different ways of answering a particular question. In this way, a leaning environment is established. (Jonassen & Land, 2012) highlights different ways in which a teacher can establish not just a learning environment but a favorable learning environment for a learner to be in a position to understand what he/she is being taught.
The process of sharing objectives with students can help to create a culture of self-directed learning. When a student gets to understand the objectives, he/she is able to set for himself/herself person.

Colin Kaepernick comes to mind as I speak of racial differences, principles and morals. Colin Kaepernick, when he chose to go beyond the usual practice, effectively gave up his dream. Colin Kaepernick, the American football player who started the National Anthem "take knee" campaign against racial violence against African American and other races. Business ethics is the study of what constitutes right or wrong, good or bad human conduct in a business environment. The introduction of universal ethical principles to particular practical problems in the modern environment, such as dishonesty in ads, bullying, etc., is intended to assess what is "valid" behavior; i.e. what is considered appropriate or "right" conduct in line with universal ethical values (Christie et al, 2003).
I served with a social-service organization in 2013. Within this unique setting, I have been forced to interact alongside a variety of communities and faiths. Each of the SNAP entitlements (Food stamps) is dependent on family revenue and wealth. There was, however, a misconception and theory circulated inside the department that African American culture is lazy and that many of them do not want to function and want to rely on the government for assistance. I know that the theory and the story arose from the deep-rooted fear of the Slavery. Under which racial violence persists and so other groups are still competing and killing each other.
At another agency I worked for I worked with youth directly in a foster care setting. I am African American, and the rest of the children I represent are Hispanic / Latino. I note that when I'm out in the city with my Hispanic / Latino clientele, I typically get a number of stares from various cultures. One of my four-year-old children sometimes holds a temper tantrum to get what she needs from her mother. She decided to have one of these tantrums with me when we were in the grocery shop. I dismissed her actions, and there was a Hispanic lady who came up to me with a really unpleasant attitude, telling me to know what I was doing to the girl. I dismissed her and proceeded to focus on the actions of my client. I assume that she just got embroiled in this scenario because I mistreated this Hispanic child in her opinion, even though I gave her my badge for work. Anything I did with the child was in compliance with the Agency's rules and practices, even when I was being confronted by a consumer in the shop. It's really difficult to deal with babies, youth and even the elderly, so you also have to make sure that you perform it according to policies and procedures. Mandatory ethics was enforced to safeguard the employees who work for the specific organization and even the clients. Professionals are required to recognize and live by their Code of Ethics. Practitioners will need to demonstrate awareness regarding the adaptation of their codes to different cultures (Weber 20004).

Forum 1)One psychosocial issue that could cause a serious issue in the school setting to me would be Bullying. Bullying can scare a person’s ability to feel be ant to bully and be mean to someone because they may act different or look different to them, beautiful, safe, and secure about who they are, and be lasting ongoing issue that will last forever by making them feel insecure, and not wanted along while feeling like no one cares about them. Bullying is a form of abuse, aggressiveness, coercion, force. There are other things that bullies do to feel like they are important or better than everyone else, like be dominated, intimidating, or threatening. “Bullying in schools, particularly bias-based bullying, is an important issue for many reasons, but chief among them include evidence that victims being bullied experience both short and long term consequences, including poor school performance, depression, and increased health problems” (Martin, M. E. (2018).
I believe that the services of all three would be required because the bully would be evaluated three different times on his behavior and other things that no one may know about. Each of them has their own specialty that would fit working with the bully and being able to determine what is the issue or problem that makes the bully act out of character the way he or she does.
“An analysis of this phenomenon in schools, according to different authors [1,7.8, reveals that children involved in bullying behavior can play different roles; (a) aggressors/intimidators; (b) victim; (c) aggressors who are also victims and (d) passive observers. These observers are neither directly involved as aggressors nor as victims. As such, they can play a number of different roles: they can defend the victims, thus reducing this type of behavior; they can support the aggressors, actively reinforcing intimidation; children who merely observe are neutral or indifferent”. (www.ncbi.nim.nih.gov) (Links to an external site.) . There should something put into place that will stop individuals with aggressive behavior to stop bullying other individuals who just want to be themselves and live their lives. It leads to most children feeling depressed and wanting to end their lives because of it, and it happens in our society today children ending their lives because they are being targeted by bullies. Rules should also be put into place for the bullies to let them know what will happen if they continue to bully others.

Welcome to Innovation Network’s Logic Model Workbook. A logic model is a commonly-used
tool to clarify and depict a program within an organization. You may have heard it described as
a logical framework, theory of change, or program matrix—but the purpose is usually the same:
to graphically depict your program, initiative, project or even the sum total of all of your
organization’s work. It also serves as a
foundation for program planning and
evaluation.
This workbook is a do-it-yourself guide to
the concepts and use of the logic model. It
describes the steps necessary for you to

I like to tie my learning to Biblical Principles. On Virtuous Le.docxeugeniadean34240
I like to tie my learning to Biblical Principles. On Virtuous Leadership, I think about what leader in the Bible do I know that stands out as a virtuous leader. Although there are many, one that stands out to me is Nehemiah. Nehemiah's brother and others said that they had been to Jerusalem and the Wall has been broken down, and the gates were burned. Nehemiah listened and took this news personally as if he was the wounded party. In other words, it broke his heart to hear this news.
He then took personal responsibility, prayed, and asked God to forgive him and his people for not obeying his commands. Then he took personal action, and at great danger to himself, he appeared before the King sad - remember that no King wants a sad cupbearer. When the King saw how sad Nehemiah was, he asked him why, and Nehemiah explained the state of his city walls and asked permission to go and fix them. He went and fixed the walls. He got involved in the work as a servant leader and getting the people what they needed. They had a city again with walls and a gate, and most importantly, they had protection!
We can see in this story that a servant leader is someone who takes personal responsibility for what has gone wrong and sets out to fix it, but not only does he/she fix the problem, the servant leader gets involved in the work and works alongside his workers to get the job done right. By doing so, the servant leader demonstrates his care for his workers and organization.
Share a story of a servant leader either in the Bible or someone you know.

I just want one paragraph.!!
C.W.Mills described ‘sociological imagination’ as an ability to understand “the intersection of one's own biography and other biographies with history and the present social structure you find yourself and others in.” In short, it is the ability to understand the private in public terms. Essentially, Mills is describing an ability to discern patterns in social events and view personal experiences in light of those patterns. To highlight that, he uses two terms – “the personal troubles of milieu” and “the public issues of social structure.” ‘Troubles’ happen to us as individuals, and are a private matter of individual choices and biography. ‘Issues’ are public matters that transcend the individual, and have to do with societal structures and processes.
Here is the Question!!!
1- For this discussion, I want you to select one of the following health/medical issues, and offer a thoughtful reflection on it as both a hypothetical ‘personal trouble’ and a ‘public issue.’
- ADHD; obesity; eating disorder; infertility; Alzheimer’s disease; COVID.

He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

In doing a research, it is important to select an area of focus

since it will help in generating research questions that are
answerable and lead to problem

generate research questions and
2. research objectives. It can also lead to many problems during
research.
Area of Focus Statement
The purpose of this study is to focus on improvement of the IEP
process on an
individualized basis and the need for IEP team members to be
aware of the significance of
individualized assessments. The reason is that, IEP process is
important for students with
disabilities since it helps them to succeed in learning and
education. It is therefore important to
find ways of improving the IEP process in order to meet the
needs of each individual student
(Wright & Wright, 2007).
Problem – Interest
The IEP is important for all the students with disabilities since
the process helps them to
learn and succeed in their education goals and also in achieving
their post-school goals. Without
developing IEP, teacher-student interaction may not help a
student in achieving his or her life
goals because all the needs of each student (McDonnell,
Hardman & McDonnell, 2010).
3. Through the observations that I have made, observing the
students with disabilities in the
school context, I have noticed that IEP process that is used for
most of students with special
needs is usually generalized process. In the IEP process used,
there is very little attention that is
being paid to individual student. Since the generalized process
does not fully meet the needs of
each individual student, they not fully explore their potential
and does not achieve al, their life

goals. From this personal experience, I feel that to truly be
individualized, the needs, interests
and preference, hopes and desires of each student must be taken
into consideration.
Problem – Background
Through the experience that I have had within the school
5. context, I have noticed several
things that pertains students with special needs. The way
students with special needs are treated
by the teacher and other students in the school is so different.
All the students with special needs
have been secluded and are being thought in a different
classroom setting; separated from regular
classroom setting. This kind of treatment has made some of the
students to fail in achieving some
of their educational goals. The separation of the students from
the regular classroom setting
makes most of the students feel rejected from the community.
Most of the students have felt that
they are not part of the school community. According to Bakken
& Obiakor (2008), for students
with special needs to feel they are part of the community, an
inclusive educational curricular
should be develop in order to accommodate all the students in
same classroom settings regardless
of their conditions.
Despite the separation of special needs students from regular
classroom setting, the
school has also been using the generalized IEP program. The
IEP program that is used in the
6. school is so general and applied to all the students. Due to this,
the needs of individual student
have not been fully meet. Although the students in the school
have varied needs, the IEP program
used in the school is generalized to all the students regardless
of the student’s special needs. In
order for an IEP team to fully meet the needs of each individual
student, it is important to
develop an IEP process on an individualized basis and to have
regular improvement of an IEP
process (Boyle & Scanlon, 2010). Although the IEP team in the
school carries out assessments of
the students, they way they do their assessment shows that they
do not fully understand the

importance of the individualized assessments. The assessors
carry out general assessment, with
students being assessed when they are in group.
Problem – Prior Interventions
In the past, several people in the school have tried to solve IEP
program by using various
ways. One of the ways that most of the people have tried to
solving the problem is through
development of co-teaching method. In this many people have
tried to use the co-teaching
method where the two teachers are giving instructions to the
students. The method has helped the
students to some extend since in this method, the co-teacher
give instructions to the students
while in groups.
Although co-teaching has been considered to be effective
method in teaching learners
8. with special need, this effort made by the teachers did not fully
benefit the learners since the
teacher who gave instructions and guidance in class were both
general educators. For special
needs students to fully succeed in their classroom activities and
achieve their goals, both the
general educator and the special educator must work together in
giving instructions and guidance
to the students.
Participant Description
In the study, the number of participants that will take part will
be six. These will include
parents for the children with special needs. The participants in
the study will be selected from
among the parents of students with special needs. Also, the
participants who will be selected will
be of varied ages since age is not concrete.
The first participant is the female parent who is of age 37. She
is married and has three
children, two male children and one female. Two children have
no disability and one has

disability. Another thing is that, she works with a Christian
based non-governmental organization
and she is a Christian.
The second participant is a male parent who is of age 40. He is
a married and has one
male child with special needs. He is a Christian and farmer who
rely on farming for his child’s
education fees.
The third participant is a male who is of age 38. He is a Muslim
10. and has a business that is
main source of income to the family. He is married and has two
children with special needs.
The fourth participant is a male Christian who works with a
government owned
organization as the chief-executive officer. He is married and
has one child who has a disability.
He is of age 40.
The fifth participant is a female Christian who is of age 42. She
is a single woman who
works as a layer. She has two children one with special needs
and the other one has no disability.
She is also a farmer.
The sixth participant is a female who works as secretary in a
government owned
organization. She is of age 36. She is a Muslim and also runs a
small business in home town. She
has one child who has special needs.
Participant Justification
In any study that is conducted, all the participants must be
carefully selected in order to
meet the objectives of the study. If the participants are not
carefully selected, many errors will be
11. encountered.
In this study, the reason why am using the participants above is
because they all have
children with special needs and therefore, they are among the
team members in IEP development
process. All these participants are parents of the children with
special needs and they therefore

take part in the development of IEP for their children. The
responses given by participants can
therefore be used in the improvement of IEP process.
Research Questions
1. What individualizing strategies that can be use to increase the
quality of working with students
with special needs?
12. 2. What can be accomplished by changing the parameters of
each IEP to address the needs
of the individual student versus using a generalized format?

Parameters- Factors that are considered in the development of
IEP.
In conclusion, it is important for any researcher to determine an
area of focus before
doing any kind of research. Area of focus must be based on
individual interest. Choosing the best
area of focus will enable one to develop research questions that
will generate responses that will
lead to achievement of research objectives.

essays should include a thesis statement that expresses a clear
argument and organize key points body of the essay using
distinct paragraphs that include specific historical evidence
(e.g., people, events, laws, policies) to prove broader
generalizations. You should draw evidence from lectures and
assigned primary source readings (BB documents and

Week Four, Discussion 1: Data Analysis Practice Scenario
The local middle school is holding an informational night for
parents/guardians to address their new “flipped” math classes in
7th and 8th grades. The middle school math teachers shared the
21. differences between traditional and flipped learning;
Traditional Classroom Flipped Classroom Activity Time
Activity Time Warm-up Activity 5 min. War-up activity 5 min.
Review previous night’s homework assignment 20 min. Q & A
time on video 10 min. Lecture new content 30-45 min. Guided
& independent practice and/or lab activity 75 min. Guided &
independent practice and/or lab activity 20-35 min. They
further describe the day’s lesson really begins the night before
by having students view an instructional video from home of
their teacher(s) explaining the new math concept and providing
detailed examples of problem solving. When students arrive to
class the next day, the Q & A session begins, with the teacher
clarifying any misconceptions from the lesson. Students then
are asked to complete 1 or 2 problems from their assigned
material. The teacher guides the students through their problem
solving, verifying their understanding and again, clarifying
misconceptions. Students then move to independent practice,
completing assigned performance tasks/problems while in class,
with the teacher still available to help if needed. An emphasis
is made to parents during the meeting that this approach to
instruction and learning is student-centered, taking the focus off
of the teacher and more heavily on what the student is doing.
As a member of this group of educators, you are asked to collect
notes from the parents’ during the Q and A session. The
following are questions and concerns parents presented;
• “You guys are always on a bandwagon to try new things that
never work. Why don’t you stick with the basics?”
• “It sounds like you want to do less teaching and leave the
kids on their own to learn. What will they do when they are at
home watching the video and they do not understand or know
how to complete their assignment?”
• “What about those of us without a decent computer or the
internet? You can’t tell me I have to spend the money needed so
my kid can learn from home.”
• “This idea sounds like teachers are just trying to make their
jobs easier with less accountability. How will you know when a
22. student is struggling, if you’re not teaching them all class
period?”
• “How will you be able to hold kids accountable for what they
do from home? They could easily say they watched the video
and really not do it.”
• “It’s about time technology is being put to good use. My
student has always struggled with understanding her math
teachers’ ways of teaching. Maybe this will make a difference.
