Cloud Computing Implementation- Ahold Delhaize Company
The cloud computing is the on-demand accessibility of computer system resources, without immediate management by the user. It majors on the storage of software data. Ahold Delhaize is one of the organizations that utilize computing in its operations and has reaped from it in many ways. Ahold is a retail company with specialization in supermarkets and e-commerce businesses (Strom & Bray 2015)
The company has benefited from immersing using cloud computing. The company has been able to achieve cost-saving. In the company, once you are on the cloud, you can easily access company data saving both time and money in project startups. Cloud computing offers the pay as you go system, which provides more space (Rittinghouse 2017). Taking together all these results in lower costs and higher returns. Also, the security of the company data is at the extreme. The company’s files, programs, and data are kept protected, preventing cybercriminal acts in the company…data safety in the company has, therefore, been enhanced.
The result of the implementation of cloud computing is that it has led to increased collaboration in the company. Cloud computing made collaboration in the company so easy, creating collaborative social spaces linking employees across the organization. The company has, therefore, been able to run smoothly, hence its progressive growth in the market (Strom, S., & Bray 2015). Also, it has enhanced quality control within the company. Cloud-based systems store all documents in one place and a single format, maintaining consistency in data making records clearer.
The company was able to meet its objectives. The company has since been growing. The company has been able to set up different brands in America, Indonesia, and Europe. The company has been able to receive increased earnings over the periods. The company has been able to benefit from cloud computing citing business efficiencies, cost –benefits, and competitive advantage. Making the company grow and increase its market share

Chapter Notes
Chapter Eleven
Liability Insurance
It is always important to be covered no matter what types of
services you provide.
It starts with internship(which is why each intern must by
student liability insurance)
Once employment occurs under an agency, the employer may
have liability insurance. However, each employee needs to
confirm coverage.
CM consultations, self-employed and at-risk employees should
maintain their own professional liability insurance through a
professional organization or reputable company.
Consumer Rights and Confidentiality
Any agency should have a consumer rights and responsibilities
form outlining what the consumer can expect while receiving
services from the agency or CM. (See CareWorks Example in
content)
4. Each consumer should receive information on privacy,
confidentiality and the limitations of confidentiality while
receiving services. (See CM Agreement Example for
confidentiality)
( p 299-304)
Consent and Disclosure Forms
Consumers need to know and give permission for a CM to
request information from (see Consent for release of
information example) or disseminate information to (Release of
Information HIV example) another party.
Consent forms should be signed to speak with employers,
medical personnel, mental health professionals, family
members, and any other individual that has information you
might need or that the consumer has requested the CM contact
with information.
Consumers should also agree to participation (See Program
Participation Consent Form)
Consent Form Completion
I always had them on hand as you never know when you will
need or want one.
These should be completed during the initial meeting when you
are information gathering
Give information verbally and in writing
Offer an opportunity for questions and answers
Witness the signing of the form
Have the legal guardian sign in addition to consumer when
necessary (for consumers under 18 or adults under a legal
guardian)
5. Disclosure
There are circumstances in which you must break
confidentiality based on court subpoena or duty to warn statue.
(p 97) In cases you do have to break confidentiality, it may
affect the CM-consumer relationship but less so if you have
already gone over the possibility in the initial interview.
As well, if a CM will be speaking with an employer or other
party to obtain employment or services, the CM will need to
discuss this with the consumer and get permission.
Legal Issues
CM recommendations should control costs and demonstrate
appropriate outcomes based on data that can be defended in
court.
CM must have the educational and experiential requirements for
the position.
CM must have the competence in skills and abilities required
for the type of CM provided.
P 308-317
Reviewed Case Implications
CM is a reasonable activity
CM can be held accountable when something bad happens to the
client (thus liability insurance)
CM must meet a reasonable standard of care
CM must not conduct their activities in a way corrupts medical
judgment
Reviewed Case Implications
CM must act within the scope of their credentials, education and
competence
6. CM are consultants
CM should not practice medicine or interfere with
doctor/patient relationships
Alternative treatment plans should be in writing and signed off
by the physician.
Appropriate Referrals
CMs, when referring to a facility or provider, should:
Review the facility for competence and qualifications to provide
the service
Look at outcomes of similar consumers/populations served
Cost and insurance coverage
I would add:
Eligibility criteria
Ability of client to get there for services
Overall cleanliness and welcoming practices
Laws and CM
CM should be aware of any laws pertinent to his/her consumers.
CM should make it very clear that s/he is not a medical doctor
or lawyer and cannot provide advise in those areas.
Documentation is your friend. Be objective!

7. Chapter 3 Helpful Tip
Chapter 3 may seem overwhelming and sometimes out of order.
If you understand the following chapter notes on important
concepts, the instructors explanation, as well as the
supplemental examples to assist you, you will have the
necessary info for this section and do fine on the exam.
You will get a better feel of this process in your job shadowing
as well.

Case Finding and Targeting
Gathering and Assessing Information
Planning
Reporting
Obtaining Approval
Coordination of Plan
Follow-up
Evaluation
Case Finding and Targeting
Depending on the population, you may have to find cases
(private rehab CM) but will more likely be referred consumers
(nonprofit agencies). (P 39)
8. Referral sources
Hospitals/MDs/PTs to Ind. Living Centers
State Vocational Rehabilitation or Worker’s Comp
Psychiatric Hospitals/Psychiatrists/Mental Health Agencies
Homeless Shelters
Court Systems (Adult and Juvenile)
Gathering and Assessing Info
Talking with Referral Sources
Generally the referral source will provide information on the
consumer, why the consumer was referred (homelessness, injury
at work, etc.), and expectations for services or outcomes.
Fees and chargeable expenses, time frames, expected
reports/assessments, and other pertinent information is upfront
information necessary for CM services.
Gathering and Assessing Info
Talking with Referral Sources
Understand what your payer (referral source) expects as far as
contact (in person, over the phone), with whom, and how
quickly (24 hours after referral, etc.)
Understand what is the purpose of your assistance (employment,
housing, Ind. Living, mental health management)
Understand how long the case is expected to last. Some
agencies work with individuals for as long as they need
assistance, as long as they are alive, or only for a specific about
of time such as until suitable employment is reached and
9. maintained for a specified amount of time.
P 123-124
Initial Meeting
Please review in PILOT my Instructor Explanation for
information on the initial meeting or intake of a consumer and
examples of forms to assist in gathering information.
Review the example of a professional letter template on p 59 for
an intake.
Interviewing Method
R.I.P. Method of Conducting Interviews
Rapport (Build a connection)
Information (Obtain specific information or complete objective
of contact)
Plan (Verbally communicating the next step)
Using your RHB 4070 skills
(I jumped ahead- P 123)
Meeting with a Consumer
First ascertain their understanding of the disability or life
situation that has resulted in the referral.
Determine if they understand the implications of diagnoses,
limitations, and recommendations.
Some consumers have their own set limitations for the
condition, either less or more than doctor’s recommendations.
Never go beyond a doctor’s release
10. If a consumer says they can’t lift over 10 lbs, even if they can,
they likely won’t so it probably won’t do you any good to go
beyond it.
P 62-71
Meeting with a Consumer
Learn about past medical issues/hospitalizations and current
medications (and if they take the meds as directed)
Some consumers are not the best historians so medical records
should be obtained and possible interviews with family
members
I suggest a full health checklist because consumers often do not
connect conditions and limitations, as well, even if a pre-
existing condition is not related to the current reason for the
referral, it does not mean that it will not affect your case.
Meeting with a Consumer
Beyond the medical information, a CM will need to know:
Insurance info (SSI/SSDI, Veterans benefits, Insurance through
themselves or a family members)
Income
Family situation (for transportation and issues)
Vocational past and interests
Contact info
360 Analysis of Family
Obtaining info from family about the consumer
11. Obtain info from family about the roles and current status of
family obligations (and how they may have changed)
If the consumer has a care taker, how have those responsibilities
been managed and what has been changed to provide assistance?
Obtain how the family is doing physically and emotionally
P 71-72
Talking with MDs and other Professionals
This section provides examples of phone calls and letters.
Please review as you never know when a question will pop up
on the exam about connecting with medical and other
professional personnel.
P 73-98
Assessments
Often a case manager can get information to assist with
assessing a consumer’s abilities and needs.
Medical Exam (MD)- diagnoses and meds
Functional Capacity Evaluation (MD/PT)- physical limitations
and abilities
Psychological Evaluation (Psychologist)- mental health
diagnoses, meds, history, and concerns
Neuropsychological Eval (Psych)- assessment of learning
disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and brain functioning
Vocational Assessment- community based assessments of skills,
vocational interests, temperaments, abilities, etc.
12. Assessing a Consumer
Assessment is good for:
Determining Eligibility
Determining strengths and areas of need
Determining what is covered by CM (pg 42)
Next steps to be built into the plan
Please review in PILOT a) Instructor Explanations, b)
Assessments across Settings, and c) examples of assessment
reports typical in this field.
Planning
CM services that rehab students provide often occur throughout
or after “treatment” is provided and someone has reached his or
her maximum physical and emotional abilities. Reviewing and
providing feedback on current medical treatments is not likely
going to occur.
However, CMs will need to know the current abilities and
limitations, as well as any progressive limitations or symptoms
that may occur.
Planning – p 98-102
Planning
Planning will focus on the actual outcome goal that is outlined.
Some areas of assistance include:
Homeless = finding safe housing and income.
An injured worker = accommodations or new employment or
training then new career, home and vehicle modifications
A stroke survivor = independent living skills training and
community resource assistance
Person with severe mental health or development disability = all
13. of the above
Planning
CMs are mediators between other professionals assisting
consumers to locate needed services, provide information on
service providers so the consumer can make informed choices,
coordinate appointments and transportation, monitor the receipt
of needed services, advocate for consumers when needed, as
well as evaluate how effective those services are for the
individual.
Planning
Cost is a factor
If insurance is covering the bill, there will be requirements for
duration, cost, and what is covered.
There is a good chance you will be working with individuals
who do not have medical insurance or are covered under
Medicaid due to disability or poverty. In this instance, free
services, county services, etc.– all must be taken into
consideration as referring someone for services that they cannot
afford is not helpful.
Case Reporting
Rule of thumb is document with a case note at the time of any
contact (don’t wait until the next day or end of week or you will
forget)
Also, most payers expect a report monthly through pre-approved
14. forms with pre-approved required information
Case Notes and reports should always be objective not
subjective (client’s clothes were stained and hair uncombed vs
client was nasty/unprepared today)
P 102-116
Recommendations
Recommendations are where needs are addressed.
Based on (specific need), it is recommended that Ms. Jones gets
(further info needed, service, equipment, training, etc. based on
financial constraints/referrer’s rules, geographic location,
community resources, consumer’s agreement, CM judgment,
etc.)
Options should be provided so there is choice and room for
discussion about pros and cons in regards to the best fit for the
situation and consumer.
See Comprehensive Assessment
Obtaining Approval
Everyone must be on board.
People get on board by having an effective report that is based
on a thorough intake/assessment phase and solid, justifying
recommendations.
P 116
Coordinating
15. Your consumer, due to medications, illnesses, depression,
confusion, feelings of being overwhelmed, not understanding
the system, pressures from family and payers (and the list could
go on), will not be able to monitor everything going into a plan.
This is how you will be essential to the process and to the
consumer’s success.
P 117-119
Follow-Up
CMs need to make sure that not only are the services being
provided, but that they are being effective.
Is the consumer following through, are the services meeting the
needs of the consumer, are the services high quality, etc.?
If something is not working, the CM needs to find out what is
not working and why (medication change, change in staff,
overcommitted facility, etc.).
P 120
Evaluating the Plan
Has the person received a specific service for the typical
amount of time with no movement or minimal movement
towards the goal?
Is the service not necessary, is the goal not reasonable, or is the
service provider not performing appropriately?
Is he or she on the preset schedule or falling behind?
If the plan is not on schedule, is there a reasonable explanation
(sickness, unexpected car accident in family) or does the CM
need to inquire?
121-122

CM vs Managed Care
Managed Care is “a system of cost-containment programs”
Some may include case management, pharmacy benefits, HMOs,
disability management, etc.
17. Case Management is a highly individualized process to identify
cases, assess treatment options and coordination of care, design
programs, control costs, and manage patient care.

And the list could go on forever
Credentials and Experience
Although discussed later, it is important for Rehab Services
students to note:
18. People with bachelor’s can become Certified Case Manager
(CCM)
Case management (CM) activities (whether that is your title or
not) will likely be required in any position you accept
CM activities will likely be beneficial to any population you
plan to serve
CM skills will come with the knowledge you get in college and
experience from working in the field.
Expertise
CM will be responsible for (p 8-11):
Determining effective vs poor services
Understanding potential issues likely to arise
Evaluating treatment and service options
Population-specific knowledge
CMs must be:
Self-directed
Critical thinkers
Independent in function and judgment
Aware of financial aspects
Aware of emotional/familial issues impacting case
Ability to handle associated stress of the job
CM Definition
“Case management is a collaborative process that assesses,
plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the
options and services required to meet the client’s health and
human service needs. It is characterized by advocacy,
communication & resource management and promotes quality &

Ethical Principles
Autonomy: To respect the rights of clients to be self-governing
within their social and cultural framework.
Beneficence: To do good to others; to promote the well-being of
clients.
Fidelity: To be faithful; to keep promises and honor the trust
placed in rehabilitation counselors.
Justice: To be fair in the treatment of all clients; to provide
appropriate services to all.
Nonmaleficence: To do no harm to others.
Veracity: To be honest.
(CRCC/ACA/CDMS Codes of Ethics)
Ethical Dilemmas
Ethical dilemmas are dilemmas because:
They often involve two conflicting ethical principles.
There is more than one potential outcome
All outcomes have positive and negative aspects that make the
choice difficult.
21. In an ethical dilemma, rehabilitation professionals should use an
ethical decision making model to determine what should be
done. (Discussed in Ethics in CM PP)

Instructions:
Assume that you are a case manager working within the
workers’ compensation system. Write a professional letter to an
injured worker explaining:-- Who you are and why you are
contacting the person? -- What is the role and function of a case
manager? (Chapter 1)-- Then, invite the person to an initial
meeting with you at which time you will take the opportunity to
explain your services in further detail (Chapter 3) and offer to
open a case.--You will also need to explain that during the
meeting you will be going over their rights and responsibilities,
and any necessary consent forms. You will need to go over what
all these concepts mean. (Chapters 11-12)

Abstract
This paper will discuss how eBay leveraged cloud technologies
and provides the overview information of the company. This
thesis will cover the goals and missions of Microsoft.
23. eBay
Specialization has prompted many businesses to focus on what
they do best and leave other companies to provide them with
other goods and services. The implication of this has been felt
in a positive way as there has been an increased success for all
the companies. One of the largest cloud service providers is the
Microsoft cloud. Cloud computing allow businesses to store and
access programs, data and other services from cloud as opposed
to storing these in their hardware. One company that has
leveraged cloud computing is the eBay. This company is an
online multinational company that facilitates business to
consumer or consumer to consumer purchases through its
company’s website.
The company was formed in 1995 by Pierre Omiya. As of the
year 2011, the company operated in more than 30 countries
while in the recent past, the company has increased its
operations in other countries. The company was started as a
hobby site by its founder who first sold a broken laser Pointer
(Zhou et al., 2008), The activities of the site increased and
traffic caused Omidyar to upgrade his internet package from
personal to business owing to the increased traffic that was
reported by his ISP. Its initial name was Auction Web as it
turned to be an auction site, the name would later be changed to
eBay in the year 1997. The company has reported a steady
growth since then to one of the biggest companies in the US.
The integration of technology in its operations has enabled the
company to report a breakthrough in its operations is a wider
aspect. Today, the company uses cloud computing from
Microsoft Azure
Mission: “to provide a global trading platform where practically
anyone can trade practically anything.”
Goals “to be the world’s favorite destination for discovering
great value and unique selection.

Organizational Challenges
Venkatasai Peram
Cloud computing (ITS-532-04)
Dr. Robin Slayers
University of the Cumberland’s
02/02/2020
Every organization has got challenges that affect its continuity.
The problems can affect the profitability of the company as well
25. as minimize its competitiveness. Some challenges can either be
internal or external. It depends on the environment and the
setup of the organization. Some of the problems that are likely
to affect the competitive advantage of the company are a focus,
cost leadership, and differentiation. For a company to be
successful and be competitive out there, they first need to focus
on these three factors. The company can come up with different
strategies that will help it balance the three elements. Some
other factors that affect the organization are franchising and
chaining (Blome, Bennett, & Page, 2010).
One of the critical challenges that affect most organizations out
there is the cost of leadership. Any company can adopt the cost
of administration only by devising the best strategy. The
problems arise when the cost leader in the organization comes
up with a plan of offering products at a lower cost. The aim of
this is to be competitive and be more profitable. The cost
leader, in this case, has the role of withstanding all the pressure
from competing organizations. They want to come up with a
way of achieving an economic scale. For instance, the
organization's cost leaders went ahead and introduced low costs
to their products. They wanted to attract more customers as well
as gain a competitive advantage. They did not keep in mind that
it would create a negative impact later.
As they proceeded with their daily schedules, a different
software company erupted and introduced the same services.
They offered the products at a relatively lower price. The cost
leader, in this case, was unable to convince the management to
reduce the cost of the product. Already the company was not
that stable and was incurring multiple losses due to the new
company (Vass & Gustavsson, 2017). The company ended up
losing its competitive advantage as well as incurring losses. The
cost leaders were forced to go home as the company hired new
cost leaders. The other thing that the company focused on was
to introduce an online system where they would sell their
products. It was an easy way that would attract many clients as
well as be a step ahead of their competitors. Through the use of
26. online, they came up with the cloud computing services that
were meant for storing necessary data.
The other challenge that the organization was lack of proper
storage systems. The company was still using the traditional
methods of storing information as well as passing information.
The biggest, in this case, is that the company loses a lot of
information. It is not easy for them to trace every detail. The
company will end losing essential information hence losing
many clients. If the company loses clients, it is likely to incur
any losses. The company will also have a less competitive
advantage due to negative feedback from the people. The
company, in this case, introduced the use of cloud computing.
Cloud computing is critical in that it offers modern ways of
storing information (Gephart & Marsick, 2016). The company
is less likely to lose any information since it’s stored in a
central database. The customers are assured of quality services
hence increasing their profitability and increasing the
company's competitive advantage.
