Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time - Reflection
The Lord’s attitude to the woman who was a sinner stands in stark contrast to
the way she was judged by those who accompanied Jesus. He readily detects,
and accepts, the love that drives her to publicly anoint his feet and wipe them
with her hair – despite the obvious horror felt by some of those who witnessed
the events. Jesus understood that rejection and judgement never help to
change a person, but when meet with acceptance and love people are able to
respond positively and to change for the better.
Life
Human life is sacred and precious. Let us pray for its protection in our society
and among the members of our government.
Prayer for Healing
Lord, you invite all who are burdened to come to you. Allow your
healing Hand to heal me. Touch my soul with your compassion for
others; touch my heart with Your courage and infinite Love for all;
touch my mind with Your Wisdom, and may my mouth always
proclaim Your praise. Teach me to reach out to you in all my needs,
and help me to lead others to you by my example.
Most loving Heart of Jesus, bring me health in body and spirit that I may serve You
with all my strength. Touch gently this life which you have created, now and forever.
Amen
