CRISPR system for COVID-19 diagnostics.pptxPeng-Wen Liu
CRISPR systems show promise for COVID-19 diagnosis. Current methods like PCR and antigen tests have limitations like long times, high costs, and need for trained operators. CRISPR uses Cas proteins and guide RNA to detect viral RNA or DNA. The Cas12 and Cas13 systems can detect single-stranded nucleic acids and generate a detectable signal through collateral cleavage of a reporter. Studies have used CRISPR/Cas12 to detect SARS-CoV-2 from clinical samples in under 2 hours using fluorescence or lateral flow strips. While CRISPR diagnostics are faster and cheaper than PCR, most platforms still require nucleic acid extraction and amplification before CRISPR detection.
AES Corporation is one of the world's largest global power companies, operating in 29 countries with 129 plants and over 28,000 employees. It was founded in 1981 by Dennis Bakke and Roger Sant with a mission to serve society through providing safe, clean, and reliable electricity. AES pursued worldwide expansion starting in the 1990s and went public on the stock exchange. While profit is necessary for sustainability, AES's leadership emphasizes shared values like fairness, integrity, social responsibility, and fun over profits. The company transforms newly acquired plants to its empowering and value-based culture.
Red ocean strategy involves competing in existing market space against competitors, while blue ocean strategy creates new market space without competition. Key tools for blue ocean strategy include the strategy canvas, which visually captures current and future strategic positioning; the 4 Actions framework for reconstructing buyer value; and the ERRC grid for eliminating/reducing and raising/creating factors. Fair process builds execution into strategy through engagement, explanation, and clarity of expectations.

Urban Water Partners provides clean drinking water through slow sand filtration and mobile banking technology in Tanzania. They seek $200,000 investment for a 20% equity stake. Their model utilizes local vendors who each service 150 customers and keep 20% of revenue. They plan to expand to Lusaka, Zambia and Maputo, Mozambique within 5 years. Risks include underreporting, filter damage, and corruption, but they have measures to mitigate these risks.
The document discusses various gene editing technologies. It begins by introducing genome/gene editing as a type of genetic engineering that uses engineered nucleases to precisely modify genomes by creating DNA insertions, deletions, or replacements at specific DNA sequences. It then describes three main gene editing systems - zinc finger nucleases (ZFNs), transcription activator-like effector nucleases (TALENs), and the CRISPR/Cas9 system. For each system, it provides details on the nuclease domains, methods for engineering DNA binding specificity, and mechanisms for creating DNA double strand breaks to facilitate gene modifications.

As a part of our Media planning assignment, we were given brand Bournvita. The PPT describes the media mix and media strategy which can be used by Bournvita to make its marketing campaign a success.
Genome editing methods such as ZFNs, TALENs, and CRISPR/Cas9 use engineered nucleases to create targeted double-stranded breaks in DNA which are then repaired through endogenous cellular processes. These nucleases can be used to modify genomes through techniques like gene knockout, targeted mutation insertion/deletion/correction, and studying gene function. CRISPR/Cas9 uses a guide RNA and Cas9 nuclease to target specific DNA sequences for editing. The four main steps for CRISPR are: 1) selecting target sequences near a PAM site, 2) designing and cloning gRNA, 3) delivering Cas9 and gRNA into cells, and 4) DNA repair after cleavage results in gene modification
i explained about basics of genome engineering and crispr system.

The document discusses 7 potential film projects for a company. Project 1 is about the Dalai Lama. Project 2 is an animated adaptation of the classic children's story "Heidi". Project 3 does not meet the must criteria of a PG rating. Project 4 is an animated movie called "Pablo" focusing on environmental concerns. Project 5 is a biopic about Olympic gymnast Nadia Comăneci. Project 6 is about the killer whale Keiko. Project 7 is a film about the city of Grand Island, Nebraska and its environmental issues.
Gene editing using CRISPR was originally discovered as a bacterial immune system that provides resistance to viruses. CRISPR uses specialized DNA sequences and associated Cas proteins to create targeted double-strand breaks in DNA, allowing modification of genomes. The technique has rapidly advanced due to its simplicity and versatility compared to prior tools. CRISPR holds promise for treating genetic diseases, transplantation, biotechnology, disease models, and more. It has become a widely used research tool with many companies and publications emerging around its applications.
The webinar covered best practices for marketing services and ensuring consistent service quality. It discussed the unique characteristics of services, including intangibility, inseparability, variability, and perishability. The webinar also explained how culture, specifically uncertainty avoidance, affects customer expectations of service. Attendees could win prizes such as a product management book, mug, or free AIPMM membership.
CRISPR Cas9 is a genome editing technique that uses the Cas9 enzyme to cut DNA at specific locations. In 2018, Dr. He Jiankui conducted the first human genome editing trial using CRISPR Cas9 to modify embryos' genes in an attempt to make them resistant to HIV. This resulted in the birth of twin girls known as "Nana" and "Lulu". However, Dr. He's experiment was highly controversial and considered unethical due to safety risks. While genome editing holds promise for treating disease, more research is needed to address ethical concerns before making heritable genetic changes.
