This prayer guide provides prompts to structure daily prayers around adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication. It includes examples for each section, such as praising God's name "El Roi" which means "The God Who Sees," confessing sins to God who knows everything, thanking God for the church and loved ones, and requesting God's protection and blessings over the coming week. The guide concludes by listing families from the church directory to pray for.

Truth has power. We must be careful that we are sincere and truthful in our relationship with our brethren. We must speak the truth, not opinion; remember that we are brothers and not be selfish; our speech must be constructive not destructive; we must be gentle not harsh. There is a time to be silent and a time to speak.

Paul reminds us that the danger of remaining a spiritual child results in being spiritually unstable. This lesson reminds us that there are false teachers out there and that we must be wary of false teaching.
Although we don’t read much about Caleb in the book of Joshua, he will remind you of the joy of serving the Lord. Caleb. Caleb received his inheritance because he was confident in God, committed to God and courageous for God. Paul demonstrates that we can have our inheritance through confidence, commitment and being courageous.
On Father's Day, we celebrate the greatest Father of all, the One who is ever faithful to us. Beginning with the parable of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-24), going through John's writings on how Jesus and the Father are one (John 14:10) and how they dwell in each other, and then coming back to the faithfulness of our Father in heaven illustrated by the parable, the message showed the great love of the Father for all of us and how we encounter him through Jesus.

As we look at Titus, one of the greatest themes is leadership. We have all called to be leaders when Christ gets a hold of our hearts and transforms us by His Grace, saving our souls and giving us His grand vision for making His name famous.

Renewed in Grace
In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

1. Prayer Guide for Nov.23-29, 2008 with Prayer Prompts from Pastor Josh
Adoration: Praise for Who God Is by focusing on one of the names or descriptions of God in the Bible. Matt. 6:9
El Roi-The God Who Sees~ Appears only once in all of Scripture; however, it is a very important name for
the Lord. This name assures us that He is always the God who sees. See Gen 16:13. Father, thank you so
much for looking after me, thank you so much for caring enough for me that you watch my every move and
hear my every thought. Knowing you are watching gives me a sense of peace. Thanks for looking after me!
Confession: Recognizing our continuing need to repent for sin and seek God’s forgiveness and cleansing. 1 John 1:9
As Paul wrote to the Romans “…every tongue will confess to God.” I right now confess to you O Lord-the
God that sees all, the God that knows everything about me. Please forgive me for the ways I have acted
wrongly to other people, please forgive me for the way I come before you in worship and daily devotion.
Thank you for hearing me and for leading me in the truth.
Offer your confession to the Lord…
Thanksgiving: Thank God for all He has done, direct praise to Him and recognize answered prayer! 1 Thes.5:16-18
As Psalm 95:2 says, “Let us come before him with thanksgiving…” At this time of year we have a lot to be
thankful. Lord, thank you for a church that loves you, thank you for a wife that loves you. Father, I am most
thankful for the fact that you are always with me, even during the dark times of my soul you are still there
guiding and loving on me. Thank for watching over me! I love you more and more everyday!
Express your thanks to the Lord…
Supplication: Bringing personal requests and intercession for others before God’s mighty throne. Heb. 4:14-16
Oh the God who sees, I ask that you please continue to watch over your people here in Oregon City, in
Oregon and in the USA. I ask that during this week we would be able to see you moving in some small but
powerful ways. Fill us with an incredible sense of our love and protection. Give us thankful hearts as we sit
down to the Thanksgiving table this Thursday! May you become the God of my family and of this city,
nation and world!
Enter the throne room of God and bring your requests before Him with a heart of trust and
dependency…
