What was one of the first things the church was doing when it was formed in Acts 2? Believers were evangelizing and making disciples! According to Acts 2:41, nearly 3,000 were added to the church in one day!
“The movement that our Master launched is intrinsically reproductive.” —Greg Groh
If this “intrinsic reproduction” is so core to our movement, why do we struggle so much with it? Here are 10 things that we’ve forgotten or overlooked about evangelism...

Christ underwent many sufferings during his time on Earth. This lesson goes over those pains and helps us reflect on how that affects us today. Both audio and slides can be found together at www.cmcoc.org
Soul winning is said to be God's number one business, yet we find that the most of believers haven't taken up this responsibility yet.
In this presentation, we share three major reasons why you should preach the gospel.

LDS Gospel Doctrine Book of Mormon Lesson 18MeckMom.com
This lesson covers Abinadi's second visit to the people of Noah. He testifies of Christ's divinity, the Atonement, the Resurrection and the Judgement. He seals his testimony with his death.
What is the peace that Jesus gives and how is His peace different from that of the world? (Jn. 14:27; 16:33) Why is peace elusive to those who live apart from Christ? (Jas. 4:1) What robs Christians of personal peace? (Jn. 14:1; Phil. 4:6-7)
The master, the mind, the motive, the methodkab510
In this lesson we examine Jesus, the Master teacher, the mind of those who opposed His teaching and what they were motivated by. In the second lesson we will examine how the motive led to the method of His death. Both slides and audio can be found together at www.cmcoc.org
Sermon by: Brian Birdow
The second study in our "Growing Deep in the Gospel" series in which we answered the question, "What is the Gospel?" In answering the question we looked at how the word "gospel" was used in Jesus' day and how the Bible describes the gospel. We also looked at what is the heart of the gospel, a outline of the basic gospel message and an outline of the gospel based on the entire Bible.
The Church has many denominations today. Jesus encourages us to discern the true believers and servants of God and welcome them into our homes as necessity demands.

In 2007 the congregation read through "The Message" New Testament by Eugene Peterson. This lesson is taken from the assigned reading from Apr 29-May 5.
The command to "watch" is written about 24 times in the New Testament. What does it mean, why is God concerned that we watch and what happens if we don't?
In this lesson we define knowledge and how to obtain it. We discuss the necessity of biblical knowledge and the perils of being ignorant or lacking knowledge. Both slides and audio can be enjoyed together at www.cmcoc.org

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…
2. “The movement that our
Master launched is
intrinsically reproductive.”
– Greg Groh
3. Evangelism is not about
winning an argument, it’s
about proclaiming the gospel.
1
4. 1 And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not
come proclaiming to you the testimony of God
with lofty speech or wisdom. 2 For I decided to
know nothing among you except Jesus Christ
and him crucified. 3 And I was with you in
weakness and in fear and much trembling,
1 Corinthians 2:1-5
5. 4 and my speech and my message were not
in plausible words of wisdom, but in
demonstration of the Spirit and of
power, 5 so that your faith might not rest in
the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
1 Corinthians 2:1-5
6. Every act of evangelism is
meant to be a demonstration
of the Spirit’s power, not our
own eloquence.
7. The Holy Spirit knows the
hearts of individuals better
than we do, so we should trust
His leading more than our own.
2
12. 13 This will be your opportunity to bear
witness. 14 Settle it therefore in your minds not
to meditate beforehand how to answer, 15 for
I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which
none of your adversaries will be able to
withstand or contradict.
Luke 21:13-15
14. 1 Now the tax collectors and sinners
were all drawing near to hear
him. 2 And the Pharisees and the
scribes grumbled, saying, “This man
receives sinners and eats with them.”
Luke 15:1-2
18. 25 Jesus called them to him and said, “You know that the
rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones
exercise authority over them. 26 It shall not be so among
you. But whoever would be great among you must be your
servant, 27 and whoever would be first among you must be
your slave, 28 even as the Son of Man came not to be served
but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Matthew 20:25-28
19. 14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness'
sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be
troubled, 15 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as
holy, always being prepared to make a defense to
anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is
in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,
1 Peter 3:14-15
26. 8 I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I
send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I
am! Send me.” 9 And he said, “Go, and say to this
people: “‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand;
keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’
Isaiah 6:8-9
30. 1 I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you
to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which
you have been called, 2 with all humility
and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one
another in love, 3 eager to maintain the unity of the
Spirit in the bond of peace.
Ephesians 4:1-3
32. 3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled
to those who are perishing. 4 In their case the god
of this world has blinded the minds of the
unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light
of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the
image of God…
2 Corinthians 4:3-6
33. 5 For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus
Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for
Jesus' sake. 6 For God, who said, “Let light shine
out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to
give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God
in the face of Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 4:3-6
34. The sin that Christ died to save
us from is the same sin that
condemns unbelievers to hell.
10
35. 2 “Do you think that these Galileans were worse
sinners than all the other Galileans, because they
suffered in this way? 3 No, I tell you; but unless
you repent, you will all likewise perish.”
Luke 13:2-3
38. It is hardly possible for [us] to think too often or
too deeply about [the glory] of our neighbor… It
is a serious thing to live in a society of possible
gods and goddesses, to remember that the
dullest and most uninteresting person you talk
to may one day be a creature which, if you saw
it now, you would be strongly tempted to
worship, or else a horror and a corruption such
as you now meet, if at all, only in a nightmare…
“
39. All day long we are, in some degree, helping
each other to one or other of these destinations.
It is in the light of these overwhelming
possibilities, it is with the awe and the
circumspection proper to them, that we should
conduct all our dealings with one another, all
friendships, all loves, all play, all politics. There
are no ordinary people.
“
40. You have never talked to a mere mortal.
Nations, cultures, arts, civilization—these are
mortal, and their life is to ours as the life of a
gnat. But it is immortals whom we joke with,
work with, marry, snub, and exploit—
immortal horrors or everlasting splendors.”
– C.S. Lewis, The Weight of Glory
