1. 10 Advanced Things Marketers Can Do In LinkedIn
Copyright 2009 JibberJobber LLC
1. Create a LinkedIn Poll. It’s fairly new and limited, but it has the advantage of
notifying (softly, not via email) your first degree contacts… yet another nonintrusive way to get
your brand or offerings in front of them. You can do this as often as you want, since it’s not
intrusive.
2. Start your own Group. When members join the Group they typically leave your
image (logo) on their LinkedIn Profile – this image usually points back to your website.
3. Find other Groups and post regularly (discussions and news) Just
don’t spam. Be a part of the Group, don’t preach or pitch to the Group.
4. Change your status frequently. I’m surprised at the number of people who see
my status and leave comments on the status.
5. Give LinkedIn Recommendations regularly. It does wonders for your
relationship, it puts your ink on someone else’s Profile, and sometimes your
Contacts reciprocate.
6. Set up a slideshare application with one or two PowerPoint
presentations. Don’t add noise to your Profile, rather add visual goodies and zing. What is
your value prop? Put it in a ppt.
7. Browse network updates to see who you could or should
communicate with. If you are connected with that ideal prospect or customer, browse
through their connections – I bet you’ll find other awesome prospects who you should talk to.
8. Answers! Answers! Answers! Can’t stress this enough. Seriously – ask a question
today. Just make sure you do it right!
9. Search Companies and harvest contact information. Companies is
awesome – the best part is they show you who the players in a company might be. Go find your
prospects!
10. Respond to EVERYONE who communicates with you, with your
secret weapon. Every invitation, every introduction, every answer in LinkedIn Answers…
your 3 – 5 line email signature becomes your micro-profile, with your branding and messaging.
