Today, the student started their woodworking project by choosing hardwood materials and adjusting the size. They measured and marked the base and back, using tools like a ruler, try square, and compass. The student began cutting with a tenon saw but was advised by their teacher that they could use a coping saw to cut curved parts instead of cutting straight edges first. They did not finish cutting in class and will continue working on it next time. The student also created a Gantt chart to plan their project schedule and found it helpful to know what to do next, gaining knowledge to apply to future needlework projects.
1. ~Start project (get materials, measuring/marking & cutting wood)~ 23/03 Wednesday
-4572001651000-461645127635 Today, we start project. First, I chose materials, which is hardwood. That time I changed the size of toy. Because the size will too big for kids, and there is no larger than my estimate of size. I measure and mark out the base and back. I used ruler, trial ruled and compass for measure/mark out. I start cutting. First, I was using tenon saw for cutting straight. Because I was thinking that I cut part of extra wood first, then using coping saw to cut curve part. But Mr. Anderson said that I don’t have to cut straight, I can use coping saw and cut curve part. I didn’t finish yet. So NEXT class I will keep cutting wood.
3187700571500101600190500CHANGE TO
-45720063500
EMOTION
Today I was working with Gantt chart, because I want to see how the Gantt chart is match with actual working. I am happy, because it’s little bit match with actual time.
AOI- KNOWLEDGE
Today, I used Gantt chart for project. It was really useful, because I knew what should I do for next. So I can use this knowledge for when I make something with needlework.
