Nowadays Social Media focus on users to billions of images, famous e commerce web sites such as Flipkart, Amazon etc. Tag-primarily based definitely image are seeking for is an essential method to find photos shared with the aid of manner of clients in social networks. But, a manner to make the top ranked result applicable and with range is difficult. In this paper, we advocate a topic diverse ranking method for tag-primarily based photo retrieval with the eye of selling the situation insurance overall performance. First, we bring together a tag graph based totally absolutely at the similarity among every tag. Then network detection approach is accomplished to mine the subject community of every tag. Tagging: Can User-Generated Content Improve Our Services?Katja Šnuderl
A couple of years ago there was a lot of discussion about how to improve search engines on the statistical websites. We are still struggling to make them better. On the other hand, in the last few years user-generated content on the internet, with impressive growth of Web 2.0 tools and services, introduced not only user-generated content, but also user-defined classification of items. The so called "folksonomy" introduced a new, complementary way of classifying items, significantly different from the pre-defined, authoritative taxonomies. Folksonomy is a result of tagging. In applications like YouTube (video clip database), Flickr (picture database), SlideShare (presentation database), blogs and others, users attach one or more words (tags) to every object in the database. Tags support search and aggregation lists.
It takes just one step to move from entering search keywords ourselves, using all of our knowledge, experiences and intuition in order to tailor the search results to user needs, to allowing our own users to enter tags themselves. This step creates a paradigm shift, exactly the same one as has turned Web 2.0 applications into a big success: Users – not producers – control the way they find and use information. By allowing users to enter tags we can actually allow users to help themselves by helping us.
A NOVEL WEB IMAGE RE-RANKING APPROACH BASED ON QUERY SPECIFIC SEMANTIC SIGNAT...Journal For Research
Image re-ranking, is an effective way to improve the results of web-based image search. Given a query keyword, a pool of images are initailly retrieved primarily based on textual data, the remaining images are re-ranked based on their visual similarities with the query image corresponding to the user input. A major challenge is that the similarities of visual features don't well correlate with images’ semantic meanings that interpret users’ search intention. Recently people proposed to match pictures in a semantic space that used attributes or reference categories closely associated with the semantic meanings of images as basis. Even though, learning a universal visual semantic space to characterize extremely diverse images from the internet is troublesome and inefficient. In this thesis, we propose a completely distinctive image re-ranking framework that learns completely different semantic spaces for numerous query keywords automatically at the on-line stage. The visual features of images are projected into their corresponding semantic spaces to induce semantic signatures. At the online stage, images are re-ranked by scrutiny their semantic signatures obtained from the semantic spaces such that by the query keyword. The proposed query-specific semantic signatures considerably improve both the accuracy and efficiency of image re-ranking.
Can Web Search Be Enhanced For User-GeneratedEvan Atkinson
With so much content on the web this paper aims to answer the question how users can get the most out of their web searches with regards to user-generated content. The system in which we use for web searches can be modified or optimized for better web search result for users. The main goal of this literature review is to look into the research on web search optimization mainly focusing on research in the areas of tags, algorithms, and URLs. These sources on web search show that it has the ability to be enhanced via a few different avenues. With enhanced web search capabilities this would allow users to gather better results tailored to them specifically.
Personalizing Image Search from the Photo Sharing WebsitesAM Publications
Abstract: Increasingly developed social sharing websites, like Flickr and Youtube, allow users to create, share, and
annotate a comment Medias. The large-scale user-generated meta-data not only facilitate users in sharing and
organizing multimedia content, but provide useful information to improve media retrieval and management.
Personalized search serves as one of such examples where the web search experience is improved by generating the
returned list according to the modified user search intents. In this paper, we exploit the social annotations and
propose a novel framework simultaneously considering the user and query relevance to learn to personalized image
search. The basic premise is to embed the user preference and query-related search intent into user-specific topic
spaces. Since the users’ original annotation is too sparse for topic modeling, we need to enrich users’ annotation pool
before user-specific topic spaces construction.
The proposed framework contains two components:
1) A Ranking based Multi-correlation Tensor Factorization model is proposed to perform annotation prediction,
which is considered as users’ potential annotations for the images;
2) We introduce User-specific Topic Modeling to map the query relevance and user preference into the same userspecific
topic space. For performance evaluation, two resources involved with users’ social activities are employed.
Experiments on a large-scale Flickr dataset demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Learn to Personalized Image Search From the Photo Sharing
Websites
Abstract
Increasingly developed social sharing websites like Flickr and Youtube
allow users to create, share, annotate, and comment medias. The large-scale user-
generated metadata not only facilitate users in sharing and organizing multimedia
content, but provide useful information to improve media retrieval and
management. Personalized search serves as one of such examples where the web
search experience is improved by generating the returned list according to the
modified user search intents. In this paper, we exploit the social annotations and
propose a novel framework simultaneously considering the user and query
relevance to learn to personalized image search. The basic premise is to embed the
user preference and query-related search intent into user-specific topic spaces.
Since the users' original annotation is too sparse for topic modeling, we need to
enrich users' annotation pool before user-specific topic spaces construction. The
proposed framework contains two components: (1) a ranking-based
multicorrelation tensor factorization model is proposed to perform annotation
prediction, which is considered as users' potential annotations for the images; (2)
we introduce user-specific topic modeling to map the query relevance and user
preference into the same user-specific topic space. For performance evaluation,
two resources involved with users' social activities are employed. Experiments on a
large-scale Flickr dataset demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
