60 dead after school bombed in Ukraine
Luhansk: As many as
60 people were feared to
have been killed in the
Russian bombing of a
village school in the
eastern Ukrainian re-
gion of Luhansk, the
regional governor said
on Sunday
.
Governor Serhiy
Gaidai said Russian
forces dropped a bomb
on Saturday afternoon
on the school in Bilo-
horivka where about 90
people were sheltering,
causing a fire that en-
gulfed the building.
“The fire was extin-
guished after nearly
four hours, then the
rubble was cleared,
and, unfortunately, the
bodies of two people
were found,” Gaidai
wrote on the Telegram
messaging app.
“Thirty people were
evacuated from the rub-
ble, seven of whom
were injured. Sixty peo-
ple were likely to have
died under the rubble
of buildings.”
Reuters could not im-
mediately verify the re-
port. Ukraine and its
Western allies have ac-
cused Russian forces of
targeting civilians in
the war, which Moscow
denies.
Officials said Russia dropped bomb where 90 people were sheltering
Thirty people were evacuated from the rubble.

Bhopal: The Madhya
Pradesh police have ar-
rested Shubham Dixit
(27) who allegedly set
fire to a building in In-
dore, that took the lives
of 7 people and injured
9 others. The man was
arrested late at night
on Saturday from Loha-
mandi. He injured his
leg and a hand while
trying to flee from the
police. The police ad-
mitted him to the hos-
pital and later arrested
him. The man is to be
produced before the

Dixit felt humiliated
when the woman (who
lived in the building) he
liked decided to marry
someone else.
He came to the park-
ing area of the building.
He took out petrol from
a bike and poured it on
the Scooty of the wom-

JAHANGIRPURI VIOLENCE: COURT BLASTS DELHI POLICE
‘COPS ACCOMPANIED
ILLEGAL PROCESSION’
...THEIR COMPLICITY NEEDS TO BE PROBED: DELHI COURT
Noting there was an “utter failure” on part of the Delhi Police in stopping a Hanuman Jayanti
procession held without permission at Jahangirpuri in northwest Delhi last month, a Rohini court
has said that the issue “seems to have been simply brushed aside” by the senior police officers
New Delhi: The bail of
eight people allegedly
involved in the recent
communal clashes at
Delhi’s Jahangirpuri
has been rejected by a
local court, which said
the accused are well-
known local criminals
and their release may
intimidate witnesses.
The judge also repri-
manded the Delhi Po-
lice for not stopping the
illegal procession and
demanded that the po-
lice chief investigate
the matter and fix ac-
countability among the
officers involved.
Twenty people were
arrested over the vio-
lence in the northwest
Delhi locality that took
place during a Ram Na-
vami procession last
month, in which eight
policemen and a civil-
ian were injured. It was
found later that the pro-
cession took place
without police permis-
sion and the alterca-
tion with members of
the minority commu-
nity took place in pres-
ence of the police.
Instead of stopping
the illegal procession
and dispersing the
crowd, the police offic-
ers were seen accompa-
nying it on the route,
the court said.
“It prima facie re-
flects the utter failure
on the part of local po-
lice in stopping the said
procession having no
permission,” he said,
adding that the matter
seems to have been
brushed aside by sen-
ior officers.
Dependra Pathak, a
senior officer of the
Delhi police, had ex-
plained the presence of
the force during the
procession, saying, “It
is the responsibility of
Police to maintain law
and order”.
Security deployment remained heavy days after the clashes at Jahangirpuri.
The contents of the FIR itself show that the
local staff of police station Jahangirpuri,
led by Inspector Rajiv Ranjan as well
as other officials... were accompanying the said
illegal procession —Rohini Court Judge

WITH WORLD BANK’S HELP
First India Bureau
Lucknow: With a claim
of reduced air quality
index (AQI) over the

of its cities, the Uttar
Pradesh government
said it is all set to imple-

The ambitious proj-

with technical coopera-
tion from the World

40-HOUR MEDIATION TRAINING PROG
HELD AT NEW HC BLDG IN LUCKNOW
First India Bureau
Lucknow: A petition
has been filed before the
Lucknow bench of Alla-
habad HC seeking a di-
rection to the Archaeo-
logical Survey of India
(ASI) to open doors of
over 20 rooms inside the
Taj Mahal premises so
that the alleged contro-
versy related to the “his-
tory of Taj Mahal” can
be put to rest.
The petition has been
filed by Dr Rajneesh
Singh who claimed to be
the media in charge of
the BJP Ayodhya unit.
Rajneesh Singh said he
has been trying to ascer-
tain facts about the 20
locked rooms of the Taj
Mahal since 2020
through the Right to In-
formation Act (RTI).
Singh filed an RTI in
2020 with the union min-
istry of Culture seeking
information about the
rooms. “Since 2020, I
have been trying to as-
certain facts about the
locked rooms of Taj Ma-
hal. I had filed an RTI.
Replying to the RTI, the
union ministry of Cul-
ture informed the Cen-
tral Information Com-
mission (in Delhi) that
these rooms were locked
duetosecurityreasons,”
Singh said. And no de-
tail was provided about
these rooms, he added.
“In the RTI, I had sought
details about the locked
rooms (what is inside
them) and directives to
open them,” Singh said.
“When all my efforts
failed then I have ap-
proached the Lucknow
HC seeking directives to
the government to open
these rooms and consti-
tute a fact-finding com-
mittee to find out wheth-
er Hindu gods and scrip-
tures are inside them,”
he added. The plea
sought a direction to the
government to consti-
tute a fact-finding com-
mittee and to “look for
important historical ev-
idence” like idols and
inscriptions that are be-
lieved to be hidden in-
side Taj Mahal on the
orders of Mughal em-
peror Shah Jahan.
“It is said that Taj Ma-
hal was named after the
name of Shah Jahan’s
Wife Mumtaz however
in many books the name
of the wife of Shahjah-
an was described as
Mumtaz-ul-Zamani not
Mumtaj Mahal, also the
fact that the construc-
tion of a mausoleum
takes 22 years for com-
pletion is beyond the
reality & totally an ab-
surdity
,” the plea stated.

AYODHYA ISSUE: TIWARI
The plea, filed by advocate Rudra Vikram Singh,
argued that many Hindu Groups have been claiming
that Taj Mahal is an old Shiva Temple which was
known as Tejo Mahalaya and this is supported by
many historians as well. These claims, the petition
said, has led to a situation where Hindus and Mus-
lims are fighting with each other and therefore the
controversy needs to be put to rest.
New Delhi (ANI): BJP,
senior Congress leader Pra-

The Congress leader said,

removed the hoardings
on Saturday evening.
According to sources,
Aaditya will take bless-

Raj himself will go to
Ayodhya on June 5. BJP

his Kaiserganj Lok

protesting Raj’s visit.
The BJP MP had also
tweeted about the role
of theThackerayfamily
in the Ram Mandir

“From the Ram temple

struction of the temple,
there was a role of

OWAISI DREAMING OF
BECOMING JINNAH: BJP MP
New Delhi (ANI): BJP
MP Harnath Singh Yadav
hit out at All India Maj-
lis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen
chief Asaduddin Owaisi
and demanded his arrest
under a sedition case.
The remarks came after
Owaisi said the BJP and
Rashtriya Swayamsevak
Sangh are trying to
rekindle the era of hatred
as the one in the 1990s.
He was referring to the
row over the survey
of Gyanvapi Masjid in
Varanasi. Yadav said,
“Owaisi’s intention needs
to be understood. Owaisi
wants to create a rift
between Hindus and
Muslims in the country
and he is dreaming of
becoming Jinnah. So a
case of sedition should
be registered against
him and should be put in
jail immediately.” As far
as survey of Gyanvapi
Masjid is concerned, any
person, any institution
is free to approach the
court and when the lower
court’s decision was
challenged by the Muslim
side in the higher court,
the court rejected.

Lucknow (PTI): Sama-

ilesh Yadav on Sunday
alleged that due to the
“faulty economic poli-
cies” of the BJP govern-
ment, income of every
household has come
down and unemploy-
ment has risen in the
country. He also at-
tacked the Centre over
the increase in prices of
domestic gas cylinder,
saying it is having a se-
rious impact on the
economy. Cooking gas
LPG prices were on Sat-
urday hiked by Rs 50 per
cylinder, the second in-
crease in rates in just
over six weeks following
the firming of interna-
tional energy rates. In a
statement, Yadav said
inflation is increasing
everyday and the com-
mon man is feeling shat-
tered under the rule of
BJP which had shown
the dream of ‘achche

prices of petrol, diesel,

cines, food items and

come expensive, he said.

VIGIL IN VIEW OF
PRO-KHALISTAN
ACTIVITY IN HP
ro-Khalistan ele-
ments are beginning
to raise their heads
in Punjab and also in
Himachal Pradesh
must be the reason for central
agencies to go on the alert. In the
latest incident the Himachal
Pradesh Assembly was draped
in the Khalistani flag. A Khal-
istani flag was also hoisted at the
gate of the Assembly complex at
Dharamshala. The Assembly’s
walls were painted with pro-
Khalistangraffiti.TheHimachal
police suspect the involvement
of tourists from Punjab.
Over a week ago members of
Shiv Sena (Bal Thackeray)
clashed with a group which pro-
tested against Sena taking out
an anti-Khalistan rally in Pun-
jab’s Patiala district. Patiala has
seen a mushrooming of right
wing Hindu groups after Opera-
tion Blue Star in 1984.
The Himachal Pradesh inci-
dent happened despite an intel-
ligence alert following a letter
from the Sikhs for Justice or-
ganisation which said that it
will hoist the flag on March 29.
Heavy security foiled SFJ’s
plans that day. The state now
needs to be extra vigilant.
P
he fifth National
Family Health
Survey 2019-21
found that the to-
tal fertility rate
(Total Fertility Rate) among
Muslims has sharply de-
clined from 2.62 to 2.36 be-
tween the latest survey and
NFHS 4 (2015-16). This should
silence those who ratcheted
fear of Hindus getting out-
numbered by Muslims in the
near future. The claims were
without substance but the
propaganda from rooftops
convinced many a gullible
Hindu. The propagandists,
mainly seers and some BJP
leaders, have raised the spec-
tre of rising Muslim popula-
tion to carry forward their
religious agenda although
official data did not corrobo-
rate those claims. Using so-
cial media platforms to
spread the message of hate
and genocide, as was done in
Haridwar and later in Delhi,
prepares the ground for tar-
geting the minority commu-
nity. One BJP MLA saw a
conspiracy by Muslims to
one day occupy “the chair of
President, prime minister
and chief ministers”. That
the fear of Muslim popula-
tion rising is fallacious is
proved by NFHS 5.
The 2011 census showed
that Muslims constituted
14.22 percent of the popula-
tion after a gain of 0.8 per-
cent over the 2001 Census. In
comparison, the share of
Hindus in the country’s pop-
ulation fell by 0.7 percent. It
is this data that was respon-
sible for the debate on Mus-
lim population in the coun-
try. The NFHS 5 shows that
the decline in Muslim TFR by
46.5 percent was higher than
the Hindus whose TFR fell by
41.2 percent.
The good news is that as
India’s population growth is
slowing down with women
across all religions produc-
ing fewer children, the coun-
try’s population is set to fall.

T
n organization is a set of peo-
ple that work for specific ob-
jectives, it is the employee
that run it. The future of any
organization depends on the
type of people who work
there. Proper and well
planned men’s groups for
work is called Talent Manage-
ment. The fate of the organi-
zation depends on the skill set
of the people working in the
organization. If a person
with a correct skill set takes
the organization in the right
direction, then the organiza-
tion and employees are opti-
mally developed. Sometimes
it happens that the turnover
of the company increases,
but the system and talent
management practice in the
company is negligible and
there is a time when the com-
pany is likely to fall from its
employees’ salaries and other
expenses. The companies
who can organize their hu-
man resource in proper way
have a strong foundation.
Recently, the world’s lead-
ing company E Y surveyed
on the company’s Talent
Management and how they
can grow by organizing it in
correct way. In this survey,
the world’s top 600 officials
took part. These officials
came out with beautiful
things in the discussion. The
organization which will give
more freedom to the employ-
ees to work will grow more
than others. The officials fur-
ther stated that every organi-
zation should develop meth-
od or systems so that each
employee can work with
their own responsibility
. Eve-
ry employee must know ex-
actly what type of work they
are doing and how they want
to contribute to the company
at the end of the year. Also
the organization which does
not give freedom to its em-
ployees for decision making
does not grow very quickly
.
The second thing in this
survey that came out was
that a very few companies
are involved in talent man-
agement related programs or
investments and due to this
reason the company’s growth
in manufacturing is less. As
a result, there are lot of peo-
ple in the organization but
the lack of proper planning
does not benefit the organiza-
tion very much. Only 10% of
the companies have a scheme
to give opportunities to its
present employees rather
than appointing new people.
Doing this gives new oppor-
tunities to the employees
working from a long time
who have contributed more
in the development of the or-
ganization.
More than 54% of the offi-
cials said in this survey that
just 43% of companies have a
strong pipeline to create fu-
ture leadership talent and
38% of the companies have
the eligibility metrics for se-
lecting their organization’s
leadership candidates. Few
companies focus on skill ori-
ented leaders. Only 26% of
companies have met the crite-
ria to select effective leaders
for their organization. Due to
these stats we now come to
know that how much a com-
pany is serious in talent man-
agement and acquisition.
Studying in depth knowl-
edge of talent management,
we get an indication that em-
ployees can give a very im-
portant contribution in the
growth of a company
. Taking
from the workforce planning,
making right choice in em-
ployees and till the employee
come on board the company
has to properly induct them
about the organization, their
role-based responsibility has
to be decided and efforts need
to be made continuously to
make them contribute to the
company. If this whole sys-
tem is not done with a good
work plan then a person will
only be recruited in the com-
pany but will not make any
special contribution. It the
company wants to develop
than the company has to un-
derstand the flow and follow
it accordingly
.
Talent Management is an
important factor playing in
the organization’s growth. If
you want to develop an or-
ganization, then you have to
develop employees.
TIPS FOR TALENT
MANAGEMENT....
l If the employees consider
themselves as partners to the
company, and that kind of
environment is developed than
the company is certainly going
to develop, grow and make
more profits. The company’s
management has to make
certain efforts to create such
an environment.
l Every employee working in
the company has to contribute
in the development of their
organization. You and your
company will grow in partner-
ship if you contribute well in
the company’s growth.
l Organizations must have vari-
ous programs related to Talent
Management. These programs
should be more dependent on
employee’s contribution to the
organization.
l Changing the mental attitude
of employees has become
very important in today’s
environment. Regular training
programs should be organized
periodically.
l The leaders working in the or-
ganization has great responsi-
bilities. It’s the leader who has
to make sure that he and his
team give maximum contribu-
tion to the organization.

New Delhi (PTI):
Prime Minister Naren-
dra Modi is now the
template for what it
means and takes to be a
“national leader”, Un-
ion Home Minister
Amit Shah has said, as-
serting that the label
was earlier handed out
to even politicians of no
proven merit and only
capable of winning
election from one or two
safe Lok Sabha seats.
While national lead-
ers were identified in
the immediate after-
math of the independ-
ence movement by their
“name recall” across
regions because of
their participation in
the freedom struggle, in
the latter decades, nota-
bly at the height of the
coalition era, the ex-
pression came to be
much abused, he said,
adding that Delhi media
generously distributed
the status to its “friends
and favourites”.
Writing in the book
“Modi@20 Dreams

out by Rupa Publica-
tions and to be launched
on May 11, Shah said
such “facile and insin-
cere manufacturing of
national leaders” was
shown up for what it
was after Modi led the
BJP to its biggest Lok
Sabha win in 2014 be-
fore repeating the feat
with a bigger margin in
2019.
A confidant of the
Prime Minister for over
three decades, Shah
wrote that the best
teacher for a leader is
“travelling to ordinary
places, meeting ordi-
nary families, sharing
ordinary experiences,
and doing all this by or-
dinary means.”
“Narendra Modi has
done so with greater
frequency and perse-
verance than any poli-
tician in the past 75
years,” he said, adding
that before the 2014 and
the 2019 polls, there
had been “no mandate
for hope; and no man-
date that was simply a
reward for tested per-
formance”.
Amit Shah said par-
ties and Prime Minis-
ters won majorities be-
tween 1952 and 1984 on
the basis of the good-
will of the freedom
movement, family lega-
cy, anger against the
incumbent (1977), a mix
of fear and sympathy
(1984) with appease-
ment, sectional preju-
dice, vote bank mobili-
sation and empty slo-
ganeering like ‘Garibi

Everybody now rec-
ognises that the 2014
polls marked the most
decisive shift in the his-
tory of Indian politics,

that in the recently con-
cluded assembly elec-
tions, 22 percent of the
Jatav voters, who are
considered BSP’s
staunch support base,
shifted towards BJP.
At the same time, SP
could get only nine per
cent votes of this com-
munity. Since then, the
BJP camp is making ev-
ery effort to retain the
unprecedented support
of these voters. In the
Yogi 2.0 cabinet, 8 min-
isters belonging to the
SC and ST community
have been included.
BJP organized massive
events on the occasion
of Ambedkar Jayanti.
Moreover, time-bound
fulfillment of the prom-
ises made for the better-
ment of the Dalit com-
munities in BJP’s elec-
tion manifesto ‘Lok
Kalyan Sankalp Patra
2022’, has been included
in the Yogi govt top pri-
orities. According to a
high-ranking function-
ary of the BJP state or-
ganization, their party
has to increase the
scope of its votebase in
the upcoming Lok
Sabha elections.

According to sta-
tistics, there are 42
such districts where
Dalit population is
more than 20%.
Out of this, the
Jatav community
constitutes around
54 % and the rest
of the non-Jatav
population is close
to 45-46%. The
Jatav community
is believed to have
been a trusted vote-
bank of BSP.

promoting enmity be-

sentiments, an official

.
According to Dun-
garpur Kotwali police
station, an FIR was reg-
istered against Chopra
by a man alleging that
the journalist gave false
and fictitious details by
showing that the demo-
lition of a temple in Ra-
jgarh of Alwar district
was done by the Ra-
jasthan government as
an act of revenge fol-
lowing the demolition
drive in Delhi’s Jahan-
girpuri. Three FIRs
have been registered
against Chopra, includ-
ing in Bundi, Alwar

tricts under various
sections pertaining to
sedition, outraging reli-
gious sentiments and
promoting enmity be-
tween two groups and
under the IT Act on

ing a local court order
in Dungarpur district,

On saturday, also our

Lucknow: Efforts are
underway to register
another FIR in Uttar
Pradesh against
fugitive suspended
IPS officer Manilal
Patidar who has a cash
reward of Rs 1 lakh on
his arrest.
In investigations be-
ing carried out by the
Vigilance department
against the IPS officer,
plenty of evidence of
corruption has been
found, on the basis of
which preparations
are on to register an-
other FIR.
The investigation of
corruption charges
against other accom-
plices of Patidar, in-
cluding an Inspector
and a Constable of Ma-
hoba Kotwali, is still
going on.
Patidar was sus-
pended from the post
of Superintendent of
Police of Mahoba on
September 9, 2020, on
charges of corruption,
post which Patidar
was found guilty in
an investigation done
by a Special Investiga-
tion Team (SIT) of UP
Police.
Police is on the hunt
for Patidar on whose
name a reward of Rs
25,000 was announced
at the SP level, fol-
lowed by a reward of
Rs 50,000 at IG level,
and finally a reward of
Rs 1 lakh announced
by the ADG Prayagraj.
However, police has
yet not been able to
find the fugitive offic-
er. Officers in the state
bureaucracy main-
tained that the police
seem to be deliberately
not laying hands on
their IPS officer, even
after a year of the re-
ward being an-
nounced.
On the other hand,
investigation against
Patidar in a case of
disproportionate as-
sets has been ham-
pered due to his ab-
sence, as his statement
has to be recorded in
the case.

DIET TO BEAT
THE HEAT
he summer season
has arrived, and
the scorching sun
rays have started
affecting our
health. With the
mercury reaching
an all-time high, we need to
make changes in our diet to
cope with the high temper-
atures. The food and drink
that we consume during
the summer play an impor-
tant role to help us protect
ourselves from heat-related
health issues like dehydra-
tion, indigestion, food poi-
soning and heat stroke.
While certain foods help to
keep the summer heat in
check, others can worsen
the condition. Therefore, a
need arises to exclude foods
that may adversely affect
our health during summer.

T
Curd and Butter
Milk– Both these foods
have a cooling effect and
are packed with calcium,
and protein and contain
probiotics which are
good bacteria in our gut
that keep the body cool
and aid indigestion.
Curd can be consumed
as such with main meals
or as a snack by adding
fresh vegetables or fruits
to it. The addition of
fresh mint leaves, cumin
powder and black salt to
the buttermilk enhances
the beneficial effects and
taste as well.
Fresh Summer Fruits–
There are a variety of
fruits available in sum-
mers like watermelon,
musk melon, papaya,
plums, apricots, cher-
ries, mango, and orang-
es. Fruits have an abun-
dance of water content
and are a powerhouse of
vitamins, minerals and
fibre. These fruits can be
consumed whole as such
or as juices. They can be
a healthy alternative to
desserts as well. Milk-
shakes prepared using
fruits are everyone’s fa-
vourite.
Fresh Summer Veg-
etables– Summer vege-
tables like bottle gourd,
cucumber, snake gourd,
pumpkin, tomato etc.
have a hydrating effect
on the body. They are a
rich source of antioxi-
dants which prevent cel-
lular damage due to the
intense heat of the sun.
Vegetables also contain
minerals, vitamins and
fibrewhichhelpimprove
heart health, and gut
health and add satiety.
Tomatoes offer extra
protection from the sun
as they contain lycopene
which prevents sun-
burn. The best way to
include these vegetables
is by preparing the veg-
etable dish, salads or
vegetable juices. Cooling
herbs like mint and cori-
ander can also be con-
sumed as chutneys.
Lemon water– It is the
most common summer
drink. The natural anti-
oxidants and antibacte-
rial properties of lemon
help fight infections, es-
pecially viral fevers and
common colds that are
common during the sum-
mer. Drinking lemon wa-
ter can also help prevent
skin damage caused by
sunrays.Addthejuiceof
one or two lemons to a
glass of water and add a
pinch of roasted cumin
powder, mint leaves and
black salt to it for a salty
taste. Sugar can be added
for sweetness.
Coconut Water– Co-
conut water is the best
summer drink provided
by nature. It is packed
with nutrients like cal-
cium, potassium, and
magnesium and replen-
ishes the body with the
nutrients lost due to
sweating and dehydra-
tion. It also helps to neu-
tralize the acid levels in
the stomach due to its
alkaline nature.
Sprouts– A variety of
sprouts can be prepared
at home like green gram,
chana, moth, fenugreek
seeds etc. Sprouts are
easy to digest and con-
tain high amounts of
water and nutrients.
They help prevent dam-
age to skin and hair dur-
ing summer. They can be
eaten alone or in the
form of salad with other
vegetables. They are a
tasty way of beating the
summer blues.
Amla is the richest
source of vitamin C
which is a collagen
booster, especially bene-
fits the heart and hair,
and reverses the ageing
effects caused by strong
sun rays. They can be
consumed raw, cooked or
as amla juice. They are a
healthy and tasty hydra-
tion option.
FOODS TO BE
AVOIDED
Tea and coffee- Avoid
or minimize the con-
sumption of hot bever-
ages like tea or coffee as
they tend to increase the
overall temperature of
the body and can have a
dehydrating effect on the
body
.
Fried and junk food-
Fried and junk foods can
dehydrate the body and
are difficult to digest in
the summer.
Hot and Spicy Foods-
Spices like chilli, nut-
meg, pepper, ginger and
cinnamon should be
used sparingly in sum-
mer as they boost the
rate of metabolism and
have a thermogenic ef-
fect on the body and may
cause an upset stomach
in summer.
Sugary cold drinks
and packaged juic-
es-Most packaged juices
and cold drinks contain
excessive amounts of
sugar, which may in-
crease your energy tem-
porarily but dehydrate
your body and affect the
kidneys.
Hence, fresh, seasonal
and easily digestible
food is the key to the se-
lection of foods for the
seasonof summer.Small
and frequent meals
should be consumed in-
stead of large heavy
meals as they are diffi-
cult to digest and lead to
laziness and bloating.
The fluid intake needs to
be increased to stay hy-
drated. It is also advisa-
ble to drink water
frequently

JAHANGIRPURI VIOLENCE: COURT BLASTS DELHI POLICE ‘COPS ACCOMPANIED ILLEGAL PROCESSION’ ...THEIR COMPLICITY NEEDS TO BE PROBED: DELHI COURT Noting there was an “utter failure” on part of the Delhi Police in stopping a Hanuman Jayanti procession held without permission at Jahangirpuri in northwest Delhi last month, a Rohini court has said that the issue “seems to have been simply brushed aside” by the senior police officers New Delhi: The bail of eight people allegedly involved in the recent communal clashes at Delhi’s Jahangirpuri has been rejected by a local court, which said the accused are well- known local criminals and their release may intimidate witnesses. The judge also repri- manded the Delhi Po- lice for not stopping the illegal procession and demanded that the po- lice chief investigate the matter and fix ac- countability among the officers involved. Twenty people were arrested over the vio- lence in the northwest Delhi locality that took place during a Ram Na- vami procession last month, in which eight policemen and a civil- ian were injured. It was found later that the pro- cession took place without police permis- sion and the alterca- tion with members of the minority commu- nity took place in pres- ence of the police. Instead of stopping the illegal procession and dispersing the crowd, the police offic- ers were seen accompa- nying it on the route, the court said. “It prima facie re- flects the utter failure on the part of local po- lice in stopping the said procession having no permission,” he said, adding that the matter seems to have been brushed aside by sen- ior officers. Dependra Pathak, a senior officer of the Delhi police, had ex- plained the presence of the force during the procession, saying, “It is the responsibility of Police to maintain law and order”. Security deployment remained heavy days after the clashes at Jahangirpuri. The contents of the FIR itself show that the local staff of police station Jahangirpuri, led by Inspector Rajiv Ranjan as well as other officials... were accompanying the said illegal procession —Rohini Court Judge KHALISTAN FLAGS HUNG AT HIMACHAL ASSEMBLY GATE Dharamsala: Khalistan flags were found tied on the main gate of Vidhan Sabha Com- plex at Tapovan in Dharam- sala on Sunday morning. This approach has been first initiated with Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana etc. However, Uttar Pradesh becomes the first state to bring out the act The ambitious proj- ect has been launched with technical coopera- tion from the World Bank. Other top national and international bod- ies will also be roped in to prepare the UP air- shed management blue- print. Taking the agenda forward, a World Bank delegation helmed by its lead environment ex- pert Karin Shepardson had called upon UP chief minister Yogi Ad- ityanath in Lucknow last week. The petition has been filed by Dr Rajneesh Singh who claimed to be the media in charge of the BJP Ayodhya unit. Rajneesh Singh said he has been trying to ascer- tain facts about the 20 locked rooms of the Taj Mahal since 2020 through the Right to In- formation Act (RTI). Singh filed an RTI in 2020 with the union min- istry of Culture seeking information about the rooms. “Since 2020, I have been trying to as- certain facts about the locked rooms of Taj Ma- hal. I had filed an RTI. Replying to the RTI, the union ministry of Cul- ture informed the Cen- tral Information Com- mission (in Delhi) that these rooms were locked duetosecurityreasons,” Singh said. And no de- tail was provided about these rooms, he added. “In the RTI, I had sought details about the locked rooms (what is inside them) and directives to open them,” Singh said. “When all my efforts failed then I have ap- proached the Lucknow HC seeking directives to the government to open these rooms and consti- tute a fact-finding com- mittee to find out wheth- er Hindu gods and scrip- tures are inside them,” he added. The plea sought a direction to the government to consti- tute a fact-finding com- mittee and to “look for important historical ev- idence” like idols and inscriptions that are be- lieved to be hidden in- side Taj Mahal on the orders of Mughal em- peror Shah Jahan. “It is said that Taj Ma- hal was named after the name of Shah Jahan’s Wife Mumtaz however in many books the name of the wife of Shahjah- an was described as Mumtaz-ul-Zamani not Mumtaj Mahal, also the fact that the construc- tion of a mausoleum takes 22 years for com- pletion is beyond the reality & totally an ab- surdity ,” the plea stated. These claims, the petition said, has led to a situation where Hindus and Mus- lims are fighting with each other and therefore the controversy needs to be put to rest. New Delhi (ANI): BJP, senior Congress leader Pra- mod Tiwari said that the BJP is looking for another Ayod- hya issue to play politics in the Gyanvapi Masjid case. Shiv Sena’s poster — ‘ Asli Aa Raha Hai,Nakli Se Savdhan’, along with the pictures of Aaditya, CM Uddhav Thackeray and Late Bal Thackeray , were also put up as a re- ply to the MNS hoard- ings. The local adminis- tration has, however, removed the hoardings on Saturday evening. TOP TWEETS NEED FOR EXTRA VIGIL IN VIEW OF PRO-KHALISTAN ACTIVITY IN HP ro-Khalistan ele- ments are beginning to raise their heads in Punjab and also in Himachal Pradesh must be the reason for central agencies to go on the alert. In the latest incident the Himachal Pradesh Assembly was draped in the Khalistani flag. A Khal- istani flag was also hoisted at the gate of the Assembly complex at Dharamshala. The Assembly’s walls were painted with pro- Khalistangraffiti.TheHimachal police suspect the involvement of tourists from Punjab. Over a week ago members of Shiv Sena (Bal Thackeray) clashed with a group which pro- tested against Sena taking out an anti-Khalistan rally in Pun- jab’s Patiala district. Patiala has seen a mushrooming of right wing Hindu groups after Opera- tion Blue Star in 1984. The Himachal Pradesh inci- dent happened despite an intel- ligence alert following a letter from the Sikhs for Justice or- ganisation which said that it will hoist the flag on March 29. Heavy security foiled SFJ’s plans that day. The state now needs to be extra vigilant. P he fifth National Family Health Survey 2019-21 found that the to- tal fertility rate (Total Fertility Rate) among Muslims has sharply de- clined from 2.62 to 2.36 be- tween the latest survey and NFHS 4 (2015-16). This should silence those who ratcheted fear of Hindus getting out- numbered by Muslims in the near future. The claims were without substance but the propaganda from rooftops convinced many a gullible Hindu. The propagandists, mainly seers and some BJP leaders, have raised the spec- tre of rising Muslim popula- tion to carry forward their religious agenda although official data did not corrobo- rate those claims. Using so- cial media platforms to spread the message of hate and genocide, as was done in Haridwar and later in Delhi, prepares the ground for tar- geting the minority commu- nity. One BJP MLA saw a conspiracy by Muslims to one day occupy “the chair of President, prime minister and chief ministers”. That the fear of Muslim popula- tion rising is fallacious is proved by NFHS 5. The 2011 census showed that Muslims constituted 14.22 percent of the popula- tion after a gain of 0.8 per- cent over the 2001 Census. In comparison, the share of Hindus in the country’s pop- ulation fell by 0.7 percent. It is this data that was respon- sible for the debate on Mus- lim population in the coun- try. The NFHS 5 shows that the decline in Muslim TFR by 46.5 percent was higher than the Hindus whose TFR fell by 41.2 percent. The good news is that as India’s population growth is slowing down with women across all religions produc- ing fewer children, the coun- try’s population is set to fall. MUSLIM FERTILITY RATE SHOWS A SHARP FALL The 2011 census showed that Muslims constituted 14.22 percent of the population after a gain of 0.8 percent over the 2001 Census. In comparison, the share of Hindus in the country’s population fell by 0.7 percent T n organization is a set of peo- ple that work for specific ob- jectives, it is the employee that run it. The future of any organization depends on the type of people who work there. Proper and well planned men’s groups for work is called Talent Manage- ment. The fate of the organi- zation depends on the skill set of the people working in the organization. If a person with a correct skill set takes the organization in the right direction, then the organiza- tion and employees are opti- mally developed. Sometimes it happens that the turnover of the company increases, but the system and talent management practice in the company is negligible and there is a time when the com- pany is likely to fall from its employees’ salaries and other expenses. The companies who can organize their hu- man resource in proper way have a strong foundation. Recently, the world’s lead- ing company E Y surveyed on the company’s Talent Management and how they can grow by organizing it in correct way. In this survey, the world’s top 600 officials took part. These officials came out with beautiful things in the discussion. The organization which will give more freedom to the employ- ees to work will grow more than others. The officials fur- ther stated that every organi- zation should develop meth- od or systems so that each employee can work with their own responsibility . Eve- ry employee must know ex- actly what type of work they are doing and how they want to contribute to the company at the end of the year. Also the organization which does not give freedom to its em- ployees for decision making does not grow very quickly . The second thing in this survey that came out was that a very few companies are involved in talent man- agement related programs or investments and due to this reason the company’s growth in manufacturing is less. As a result, there are lot of peo- ple in the organization but the lack of proper planning does not benefit the organiza- tion very much. Only 10% of the companies have a scheme to give opportunities to its present employees rather than appointing new people. Doing this gives new oppor- tunities to the employees working from a long time who have contributed more in the development of the or- ganization. More than 54% of the offi- cials said in this survey that just 43% of companies have a strong pipeline to create fu- ture leadership talent and 38% of the companies have the eligibility metrics for se- lecting their organization’s leadership candidates. Few companies focus on skill ori- ented leaders. Only 26% of companies have met the crite- ria to select effective leaders for their organization. Due to these stats we now come to know that how much a com- pany is serious in talent man- agement and acquisition. Studying in depth knowl- edge of talent management, we get an indication that em- ployees can give a very im- portant contribution in the growth of a company . Taking from the workforce planning, making right choice in em- ployees and till the employee come on board the company has to properly induct them about the organization, their role-based responsibility has to be decided and efforts need to be made continuously to make them contribute to the company. If this whole sys- tem is not done with a good work plan then a person will only be recruited in the com- pany but will not make any special contribution. It the company wants to develop than the company has to un- derstand the flow and follow it accordingly . Talent Management is an important factor playing in the organization’s growth. If you want to develop an or- ganization, then you have to develop employees. TIPS FOR TALENT MANAGEMENT.... l If the employees consider themselves as partners to the company, and that kind of environment is developed than the company is certainly going to develop, grow and make more profits. The company’s management has to make certain efforts to create such an environment. l Every employee working in the company has to contribute in the development of their organization. You and your company will grow in partner- ship if you contribute well in the company’s growth. l Organizations must have vari- ous programs related to Talent Management. These programs should be more dependent on employee’s contribution to the organization. l Changing the mental attitude of employees has become very important in today’s environment. Regular training programs should be organized periodically. l The leaders working in the or- ganization has great responsi- bilities. It’s the leader who has to make sure that he and his team give maximum contribu- tion to the organization. While national lead- ers were identified in the immediate after- math of the independ- ence movement by their “name recall” across regions because of their participation in the freedom struggle, in the latter decades, nota- bly at the height of the coalition era, the ex- pression came to be much abused, he said, adding that Delhi media generously distributed the status to its “friends and favourites”. Writing in the book “Modi@20 Dreams MeetDelivery”,brought out by Rupa Publica- tions and to be launched on May 11, Shah said such “facile and insin- cere manufacturing of national leaders” was shown up for what it was after Modi led the BJP to its biggest Lok Sabha win in 2014 be- fore repeating the feat with a bigger margin in 2019. A confidant of the Prime Minister for over three decades, Shah wrote that the best teacher for a leader is “travelling to ordinary places, meeting ordi- nary families, sharing ordinary experiences, and doing all this by or- dinary means.” “Narendra Modi has done so with greater frequency and perse- verance than any poli- tician in the past 75 years,” he said, adding that before the 2014 and the 2019 polls, there had been “no mandate for hope; and no man- date that was simply a reward for tested per- formance”. Amit Shah said par- ties and Prime Minis- ters won majorities be- tween 1952 and 1984 on the basis of the good- will of the freedom movement, family lega- cy, anger against the incumbent (1977), a mix of fear and sympathy (1984) with appease- ment, sectional preju- dice, vote bank mobili- sation and empty slo- ganeering like ‘Garibi Hatao’ of 1971. Chopra got a stay from the Rajasthan High Court on his ar- rest in two FIRs regis- tered against him in Bundi and Alwar dis- trict, but is facing an arrest warrant follow- ing a local court order in Dungarpur district, police said. Our team is camping in Noida and searching all possible locations to trace him. On saturday, also our team went to Chopra’s house but he was not found there and his residence was locked, Dungarpur SP Sudhir Joshi told He said Noi- da Police was already informed about the case details and this was second time the po- lice team had gone for his arrest. Ahtesham Siddiqui Lucknow: Efforts are underway to register another FIR in Uttar Pradesh against fugitive suspended IPS officer Manilal Patidar who has a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh on his arrest. In investigations be- ing carried out by the Vigilance department against the IPS officer, plenty of evidence of corruption has been found, on the basis of which preparations are on to register an- other FIR. The investigation of corruption charges against other accom- plices of Patidar, in- cluding an Inspector and a Constable of Ma- hoba Kotwali, is still going on. Patidar was sus- pended from the post of Superintendent of Police of Mahoba on September 9, 2020, on charges of corruption, post which Patidar was found guilty in an investigation done by a Special Investiga- tion Team (SIT) of UP Police. Police is on the hunt for Patidar on whose name a reward of Rs 25,000 was announced at the SP level, fol- lowed by a reward of Rs 50,000 at IG level, and finally a reward of Rs 1 lakh announced by the ADG Prayagraj. However, police has yet not been able to find the fugitive offic- er. Officers in the state bureaucracy main- tained that the police seem to be deliberately not laying hands on their IPS officer, even after a year of the re- ward being an- nounced. On the other hand, investigation against Patidar in a case of disproportionate as- sets has been ham- pered due to his ab- sence, as his statement has to be recorded in the case. With the mercury reaching an all-time high, we need to make changes in our diet to cope with the high temper- atures. The food and drink that we consume during the summer play an impor- tant role to help us protect ourselves from heat-related health issues like dehydra- tion, indigestion, food poi- soning and heat stroke. While certain foods help to keep the summer heat in check, others can worsen the condition. Therefore, a need arises to exclude foods that may adversely affect our health during summer. VYOMA AGARWAL Food and Nutrition expert T Curd and Butter Milk– Both these foods have a cooling effect and are packed with calcium, and protein and contain probiotics which are good bacteria in our gut that keep the body cool and aid indigestion. Curd can be consumed as such with main meals or as a snack by adding fresh vegetables or fruits to it. The addition of fresh mint leaves, cumin powder and black salt to the buttermilk enhances the beneficial effects and taste as well. Fresh Summer Fruits– There are a variety of fruits available in sum- mers like watermelon, musk melon, papaya, plums, apricots, cher- ries, mango, and orang- es. Fruits have an abun- dance of water content and are a powerhouse of vitamins, minerals and fibre. These fruits can be consumed whole as such or as juices. They can be a healthy alternative to desserts as well. Milk- shakes prepared using fruits are everyone’s fa- vourite. Fresh Summer Veg- etables– Summer vege- tables like bottle gourd, cucumber, snake gourd, pumpkin, tomato etc. have a hydrating effect on the body. They are a rich source of antioxi- dants which prevent cel- lular damage due to the intense heat of the sun. Vegetables also contain minerals, vitamins and fibrewhichhelpimprove heart health, and gut health and add satiety. Tomatoes offer extra protection from the sun as they contain lycopene which prevents sun- burn. The best way to include these vegetables is by preparing the veg- etable dish, salads or vegetable juices. Cooling herbs like mint and cori- ander can also be con- sumed as chutneys. Lemon water– It is the most common summer drink. The natural anti- oxidants and antibacte- rial properties of lemon help fight infections, es- pecially viral fevers and common colds that are common during the sum- mer. Drinking lemon wa- ter can also help prevent skin damage caused by sunrays.Addthejuiceof one or two lemons to a glass of water and add a pinch of roasted cumin powder, mint leaves and black salt to it for a salty taste. Sugar can be added for sweetness. Coconut Water– Co- conut water is the best summer drink provided by nature. It is packed with nutrients like cal- cium, potassium, and magnesium and replen- ishes the body with the nutrients lost due to sweating and dehydra- tion. It also helps to neu- tralize the acid levels in the stomach due to its alkaline nature. Sprouts– A variety of sprouts can be prepared at home like green gram, chana, moth, fenugreek seeds etc. Sprouts are easy to digest and con- tain high amounts of water and nutrients. They help prevent dam- age to skin and hair dur- ing summer. They can be eaten alone or in the form of salad with other vegetables. They are a tasty way of beating the summer blues. Amla is the richest source of vitamin C which is a collagen booster, especially bene- fits the heart and hair, and reverses the ageing effects caused by strong sun rays. They can be consumed raw, cooked or as amla juice. They are a healthy and tasty hydra- tion option. FOODS TO BE AVOIDED Tea and coffee- Avoid or minimize the con- sumption of hot bever- ages like tea or coffee as they tend to increase the overall temperature of the body and can have a dehydrating effect on the body . Fried and junk food- Fried and junk foods can dehydrate the body and are difficult to digest in the summer. Hot and Spicy Foods- Spices like chilli, nut- meg, pepper, ginger and cinnamon should be used sparingly in sum- mer as they boost the rate of metabolism and have a thermogenic ef- fect on the body and may cause an upset stomach in summer. Sugary cold drinks and packaged juic- es-Most packaged juices and cold drinks contain excessive amounts of sugar, which may in- crease your energy tem- porarily but dehydrate your body and affect the kidneys. Hence, fresh, seasonal and easily digestible food is the key to the se- lection of foods for the seasonof summer.Small and frequent meals should be consumed in- stead of large heavy meals as they are diffi- cult to digest and lead to laziness and bloating. The fluid intake needs to be increased to stay hy- drated. It is also advisa- ble to drink water frequently .
