This document discusses why repentance is important and how Lucifer's pride led to his downfall. It notes that: 1) God requires repentance so that we do not end up like Lucifer, who rebelled against God due to pride in his position and beauty. 2) Lucifer thought he could exalt himself above God, his creator, because of how he was made and what he was created to do. 3) Continuing to rebel against God can cause his holiness and covering over us to go into remission, just as Lucifer was kicked out of God's presence for his disobedience.

1. 08.28.11 Luke 24:47 Repentance – to experience sorrow for and to seek to change in wrong behavior. Remission – a period of symptoms of diseases subsides. “ So when you repent your sins, which is a disease, it subsides.” But why do we repent? Why are we required to repent? Genesis 2:16-17 “ God requires us to repent because He does not want to see us end up like Lucifer.” Ezekiel 28:13-15 “ When God creates something it is perfect and has no flaws.” “ When God anoints you, you are set apart for His purpose.” “ Lucifer was made to bring God a particular worship and was a cherub who had a particular access to God, and was made perfect.” Isaiah 14:12-14

2. “ Lucifer thought that because he was created the way he was, and created to do the things he was supposed to do, he somehow thought he was greater than God. It’s the same way with these Christian folk; somewhere in their life they may have gotten a word from the Lord detailing their destiny, but the have allowed "self" and others to put them on a pedestal instead of allowing God to do the increase.” “ Lucifer thought he could actually exalt himself above he who created him.” Ezekiel 28:16-17 “ Lucifer knew what pleased God because he had direct communication with God, he wanted to run the "one."” “ Some people think they are so anointed and think they have so much knowledge that they have been kicked out of God’s presence and pushed themselves into being the god of their world.” Lucifer knew how beautiful he was and the greatness of God, which is why he uses things appealing to the eye to distract us from God. He tried to use what he knew about God creating man...knowing that he could infect them with the seed of sin and get man to focus on the pleasures of now rather than the treasures that are eternal.” Ezekiel 28:18 “ Some of us have been told about the things that we shall not do, but because we think its not that serious, we have arrived to a point where God has said with authority, "Don’t do it!" He told us we shall not to do it, but now we are in a place where he said don’t do it.” “ The way Satan rebelled against God was direct disobedience. How can a creation rise up against a creator.”

3. “ In some situations a child will rebel against their parent but then they have to go to a foster home because they have reached a level where they can no longer obey. As it is in the natural so it is in the spirit. So in the spirit realm you are saying, "God I no longer wanna obey you, let me go to Satan." So he’s now your father.” “ When you continue to rebel, you cause God’s covering/holiness to go into remission.” John 10:10 “ God knew that if he did not come to the earth in the form of Jesus, Satan would probably say to man, “See, God doesn’t really care about you. If He did why is He not here on the earth? I am the god of this world!” 2 Corinthians 4:4 “ Satan is mad because everything he lost, a true Christian has an opportunity to gain through access to God.” “ Satan was kicked out...Jesus was sent to.” Revelation 12:12 “ Satan’s work has become more intense because we are in the last days.” 2 Peter 3:9 1 Corinthians 2:9

4. “ Satan does not want man to experience what he once did...perfection. So he is going to use every trick he knows and anybody who has any type of residue of Satan who is trying to be like or be better than God.” James 4:7 “ When God says or uses whoever He chooses to expose what is not like Him, let us take heed to Him and not be kicked out of His presence.”
