The Marina Key Club is collecting various electronics items and holding fundraisers to benefit charity. They are collecting unused cell phones, printer cartridges, laptops, cameras and eReaders to recycle in an environmentally friendly way. They are also holding a pennies fundraiser where money raised will help families of leukemia and lymphoma patients. Finally, they are holding a garage sale fundraiser this weekend where new or used items can be donated to sell at a swap meet.

We need the following items from your friends, family, parents’ friends & coworkers & companies, etc: ANY cell phone (but no chargers, cases, earpieces) Ink Jet Printer Cartridges (the smaller cartridges) Any Laptops, Netbooks, or MP3 players Any digital cameras or camcorders Used GPS devices and Kindle/Sony book readers HELP MARINA KEY CLUB dispose of electronics the environmentally-friendly way while earning dragon points for every item you bring in! (: RECYCLING!!

4. Since 1994, millions of dollars have been raised in pennies and other spare change by more than 10 million elementary, middle and high school students throughout the country. All the money that is fundraiser goes towards helping the families of the patients who have been diagnosed with Lymphoma or Leukemia. All the money goes towards this great cause, but as if that wasn’t incentive enough for you to donate, you should REMEMBER that, every $5 that you fundraise = 1 more hour of service that goes on your service award at the end of the year! All fundraised money is due by: FEBRUARY 22 nd , ONE WEEK FROM TODAY!! (include your name, grade, & amount of money fundraised) PENNIES FOR PATIENTS!

5. Garage Sale at the Swap Meet! What: Marina Key Club will be selling new or gently used items at the GWC Swap Meet! When: This Saturday, February 19 th ! What you can do to help: We would like it very much if you could bring any items that are new or gently used that can be sold at the Swap Meet. All of you should have received an email about the details! If you have an item that is able to be carried around school, you can contact Luna Ngo (secretary) and find a way to get it to her. For larger items, please contact Alice Wang for details about drop-off.
