NEEDS ANALYSIS HARDWARE &
SOFTWARE
NEEDS ANALYSIS SOFTWARE
FOR SERVER
 Analysis needs to be done to find out what kind of
server will be built.
 Determining the need for a network operating
system can be known by understanding the user
who will use the system.
 The system is expected to have a system that is able
to run all application requirements desired by the
user, including hardware support to run it.
 Compatibility of hardware and software in the
computer system is commonly known as
compatibility.
IDENTIFYING THE NEED FOR
APPLICATIONS
a. Is there a need for data processing with a special
application?
If there is the determination of the operating system can be
seen by the specific application.
b. Are these applications support multi-user environments or
single user?
This can determine whether the computer will be installed
on the server or client. In addition it can be used to
determine which parts of the data processing which can
later be stored on the server.
c. Is there data (files) that are shared within the network?
If there is, then you should use a network operating system
that is able to maintain the compatibility of data formats.
SERVER HARDWARE NEEDS
ANALYSIS
 Stages in determining the hardware requirements
are not much different from when deciding on the
application server earlier, ranging from the
identification of the hardware requirements of
each application to be used, followed by making
the documentation and review (testing).
 Total Memory (RAM), Media Storage (hard drive),
Processor Speed, etc.
