• The asymmetries of GDP per
capita among the twenty-five
regions have their maximum
expression in the comparison
of Alentejo Litoral (141.7) with
Tâmega and Sousa (62.8).
• The regional disparity
decreased in this indicator (the
difference between these two
regions went from 84.7 p.p. to
78.9 p.p.)

• The regions with the highest
competitiveness index are concentrated in
the mainland coast.
• The Lisbon Metropolitan Area (113.18) had
the highest index, standing out from the
other sub regions with values above the
national average: Aveiro Region (105.75),
Porto Metropolitan Area (105.21) and
Alentejo Coastal (101,90).
• The Competitiveness Index had the largest
regional disparity.

• The Cohesion Index shows a more
balanced territorial picture than that
observed for competitiveness.
• The NUTS III of the Continent coast
presented the highest values: Lisboa
Metropolitan Area (106,78), Cávado
(105,00), Coimbra Region (104,66),
Aveiro Region (101,77) and Metropolitan
Area of Porto (101,67).
