spacecraft’s-the Voyager 1 and 2, which he insinuates, has led to new perceptions by scientists,
of just how the earth or our galaxy for that matter, is shielded from cosmic galactic rays, harmful
to our planet habitations. From the authors interview of major players in the discovery, it is
evident that this new discovery, has been greeted with great satisfaction as accentuated by Ed
Stone, whom he introduces as the project’s chief scientists, and who mentions the learning of

Supporting Points
Through the use of visual aids to indicate the healiosheath, which the author explains
even though not in so great detail, but in an understandable fashion, the author is able to project
only visions that would have otherwise been only imaginable. The author also makes sure to
explicitly educate on the many differences between the heliosheath, and the heliopath and the
heliopause, each with its own unique role and description. It is possible to understand the
importance of the discovery to both the scientists,, and the general public, because the author
makes sure to capture the excited comments of various scientists and specialists. For example, in
the eighth paragraph, he introduces Merav Opher, who is based at the Boston University, and
who reiterates that the helioshpheric boundary and its importance in regulating galactic rays
(Harwood, 2011).
In conclusion, the author did not only vividly depict this new discovery, but expounded
on it very understandably, although he might have tried to be a little economical with some of the
scientific words.
