2. Holly represents the character of a less feminine person and a bit of a tomboy. She is one of the youngest and
the most wildest. She can also be perceived as having a quick temper and being the daredevil of the group, as
well as having a hunger and desire for danger. This is shown in the movie when she is descending into the cave
system at the start and when she runs in the cave and falls down a tunnel.
Sam represents a smart and well educated female. She is the youngest in the group as she still is in university.
She is also one of the less experienced climbers as she is the youngest. Moreover, she is the younger sister to
Rebecca.
Rebecca represents the character of an outgoing and sporty female. She can be perceived as a mother figure to
Sam, her younger sister, and therefore she can be seen to be over protected and close to Sam. This is shown in
the movie when she climbs over the gorge in the cave first to make sure that it is safe for Sam. Rebecca is also
the oldest of the group.
3. Juno represents the character of an outgoing and highly active female, who takes a lot of care of her
health and fitness. She is one of the oldest and can be perceived as being masculine. She can be seen in
the movie to have a desire for adventure and extreme sports. She is the most experiences climber in the
group and is the one who sorts out the extreme sports activities for them. Juno can be also seen to be
the leader of the group.
Sarah represents a mother who has a love for extreme sports and has sporty hobbies. She is one oft eh
oldest as she has a child and is the only one of the group who is married. She is not as experienced in
climbing as Juno or Rebecca, although she does have more experience in climbing than Sam. She is also
best friends with Beth.
Beth represents the character of a good friend and extreme sports enthusiast. She is one of the oldest in
the group, being older than Holly and Sam. She can is best friends with Sarah and it is shown in the
movie that she cares deeply for Sarah, as she is the one who supports Sarah and holds her up in the
hospital following the car crash.
4. Here in this picture the group of friends is
all connected and catching up with each
other. This picture also signifies the
friendship they all have with each other.
Furthermore, this picture shows no impact
of the car crash on any of the character's,
especially Sarah.
This picture is a fan made picture of the
cast showing them standing strong
following the descent into the cave.
Furthermore, the girls are shown to be
masculine and strong. They are here shown
to be manly and not show any signs or
aspects of their characters. They are also
shown to blood on their arms, which
indicates they have been in some sort of
fight or brawl.
5. In this picture, we are given the indication that
there is an affair present between Sarah’s
husband and Juno. We can see this as Sarah’
husband goes to help Juno to undo her gloves
and tie up the raft, when she was perfectly
capable of doing it herself. This also indicates
that Sarah’s husband and Sarah might have
some tension between them and might not be
fully happy with each other.
This picture shows how the cave had changed
Sarah's character, as she goes from being a
representation of innocence to being a
representation od death. This also shows that
Sarah has become brutal and has become just as
bad as the crawlers. This is because she too is
killing them to survive, the same as the crawlers
are doing. As she is covered in blood this to
some extent represents Sarah as a devil like
figure, the weapon in her hand further supports
this.
