Indian print media has continued growing due to several factors: increasing literacy rates and incomes have created a favorable environment for growth; print remains one of the most affordable forms of media and newspapers have innovated their content and technologies used; and print media has deep penetration across India including in rural areas and in over 1600 local languages, and has streamlined itself to local social norms and needs.
