2. ABOUT SDG
All United Nations Member States approved the Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs) in 2015 as a universal call to action to eradicate poverty, safeguard the
environment, and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030.
The 17 SDGs are interrelated that address the world's most critical economic,
social, and environmental issues.
3. WORK ?
• The Sustainable Development Goals are a worldwide call to
action to end poverty, safeguard the environment, and improve
the lives and opportunities of everyone, everywhere. The 17
Goals were accepted by all UN Member States in 2015 as part of
the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which outlined a
15-year strategy to accomplish the Goals.

5. WHY?
• The percentage of individuals who had access to electricity rose from 78 to
87 percent between 2000 and 2016, while the number of those without it fell
to slightly under one billion.
• Yet, as the population increases, so will the need for inexpensive energy,
and a fossil fuel-based economy is causing significant alterations to our
environment. If we want to reach SDG 7 by 2030, we must invest in
thermal, wind, and solar power, increase energy production, and ensure
that everyone has access to energy.
• Increasing infrastructure and modernising technologies will help all
nations deliver cleaner, more efficient energy, which will promote
development and benefit the environment.
6. AFFORDABLE AND CLEAN ENERGY
9
• Every day, renewable energy solutions become less
expensive, more reliable, and more efficient.
• Our current reliance on fossil fuels is unsustainable and
damaging to the environment, which is why we must
transform the way we create and consume energy.
• It is critical to implement these new energy solutions as
soon as possible in order to combat climate change,
which is one of the most serious dangers to our survival.
