Safety program
Our first priority
Overview of the Field Safety Program
Jardine Schindler's Field Safety Program has been developed to provide our customers with the necessary
information regarding our efforts to reduce accidents and maintain compliance with applicable safety
regulations.
The goals of Schindler's Field Safety Program are to reduce the incidence of workplace injuries and illnesses
and maintain compliance with all applicable safety regulations. These goals are carried out through
established company safety procedures and employee training. We continuously monito r the success of the
Field Safety Program by tracking accident reduction efforts, workers' compensation accident costs, number of
accidents, near miss analysis and employee training.
Schindler maintains safety procedures/programs designed to ensure the success of the Field Safety Program.
The following elements are included:

Substance abuse testing guidelines
Subcontractor safety and insurance requirements
Emergency and first aid procedures
Fire protection measures
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements
Proper mechanical and manual materials handling
Working at Heights
Guidelines for working in buildings where asbestos may be present
Schindler maintains written programs for Hazard Communication, Fall Protection, Confined Space,
Lockout/Tagout, Respiratory Protection and Scaffolding and other OSHA-required training programs.

Establishing working relationships
The MCIAT2 + T1 project
A major component of our installation at this landmark project will be the Schindler’s top of the line
S5500 elevator and S9300-20 series escalator system, designed not only to be highly efficient and
clean, but also supports the overall energy efficiency of the building.
Organization plan
In major projects such as this, the lift and escalator contractor is a critical contributor to the success
of the project overall. Close interaction with all stakeholders is required to professionally and
effectively address the different needs and job specific requirements such as performance, design,
scheduling and vertical transportation during the construction phase.
MCIA T2 + T1 project organization
The size and complexity of the MCIA project requires a seamless transition between sales and
execution teams. This is achieved through having a group of key individuals on the Project Team
who are involved in all the internal and external discussions during the award phase. The Project
Team is responsible for all Schindler’s commitments regarding the project. For instance, the Project
Master Schedule is established by the Project Manager based on the bid information provided by
the general contractor and in close cooperation with Engineering, Production and the Client Project
Team. The same is valid for the Installation Schedule. This schedule is based on the pour
schedule of building and the Master Schedule.
This approach ensures that the Client Project Team has all the necessary information available at
the start of the detailed project planning phase. Potential starting “friction” with the customer is
eliminated as both parties have an established understanding of key project requirements.

Supply chain
Beginning with the end in mind
The right mix: sourcing and procurement
The Schindler S5500 and S9300 product lines have been developed using Schindler’s reliable state-
of-the-art technology. All key components such as machines, drives, controllers, doors, cars and all
safety related equipment are produced in Schindler manufacturing facilities, mainly in China.
Planning ahead: packing and labeling
To ensure high-quality and efficient installation, we implement a unique packing and labeling
concept during the procurement of the elevator materials, anticipating the particular requirements of
your installation.
The packing concept will be based on MCIA T2 + T1 specific installation process and will minimize
on-site storage room, packing material and most importantly, will lead to a significant reduction in
lost or damaged material.
Further material identification / box labeling will be one of the key success factors for the MCIA
project. All suppliers will receive clear instructions how each box has to be labeled and color coded
to ensure each component can be immediately identified. To enforce the specific packing and
labeling requirements the Project Team will conduct factory audits prior to shipping.

Supply chain
Beginning with the end in mind
Inbound shipping: transporting to warehouse
For our inbound shipping process, the transport of material from our overseas factories or other
suppliers to our freight forwarders warehouse in Cebu will be accomplished through Time Cargo a
registered forwarder in the Philippines and by a directive from Schindler.
Warehousing
Schindler will stage the delivery of equipment in line with the overall requirements on site. Additional
items may be stored at an offsite location for a limited duration to ensure unnecessary space take up
on site. This allows Schindler to closely monitor the location of the equipment and coordinate
properly the delivery. Offsite warehousing will only be used as a transition between customs
clearance and delivery to site, however Schindler provides assurance that it is in a dry, secure and
accessible location as provided by our freight forwarder Time Cargo.
Unloading Equipment
Schindler will deliver all materials via Flat Bed Truck. The unloading of elevator boxes and
distribution on site will be via Forklift. For our Escalators, initial unloading will be via mobile crane. All
deliveries will be coordinated with the onsite Project Management team and in line with site rules,
regulations and procedures.
Site Storage plan
Correct Site Storage enables us to install our equipment efficiently. We are also mindful of working
around other trades and thus it is important to agree on required storage areas that mutually benefit
all contractors upon Contract signing. Schindler will identify the site storage locations such that the
material is easily accessible to the mechanics. Material for every bank will be stored near to the
respective bank to avoid confusion and ease accessibility. For the S9300 Escalators, we will
coordinate the timing of the delivery so that a complete Escalator can be located in place
immediately after delivery to site. This will eliminate the need for large storage locations on site,
remove any double handling and also maintain clear and safe access for other trades on site.
Waste management
Schindler will remove and properly dispose waste from the job site on a weekly basis initially and
then bi weekly as required. A designated Supervisor per week will arrange trash collection in line
with on site procedures.
