3. A project was initiated on behalf of the Networks 1st
branch of EDF Energy to enhance the reporting capabilities of a
number of key business performance indicators. The catalyst for this major project was a significant fine imposed on
EDF Energy by OFGEM. OFGEM imposed a fine of £2m in July 2009 on EDF Energy Networks after it failed to
offer connections quickly enough to meet regulatory standards in over 100 cases. The solution of above problem was
provided by Accenture and the front was developed in SharePoint and backend use developed using SQL Server 2008
for providing the reporting services to the client.
The project will deliver a number of enhancements to the business processes, compliance reporting, data analysis and
governance.
Role & Responsibilities:
• Responsible for getting the business requirement, preparing the technical specification document and get it
approved.
• Designing of OLTP database for SharePoint application and OLAP database for SSAS and SSRS reports.
• Designing the work flow using SSIS package for dataflow from OLTP system OLAP server on daily basis.
• Creation of SQL agent jobs for package schedule, re-building index, statistics.
