Welding Essay
If you want to be a welder, and actually have a career, you can go to a welding school and learn how
to weld, or you can try to be a welders helper and just learn the trade. Welding can be a tough job if
you don't know what you are doing or you do not enjoy doing it. Welding is a fabrication or
sculptural process that joins materials together (Modern Welding). This is the process that uses fuel
gases and oxygen to make a molten pool of metal to fuse together two pieces of metal, called
puddeling (oxy–fuel welding and cutting. Wikipedia). If you decide to weld as your profession, most
welding school students have little trouble finding jobs and finding people certified to weld correctly
(Welding.Wikipedia). Welding is a very important ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For welding, you need clothes that can get dirty and that can be ruined. You need long pants, old
shoes, a welding jacket, and sunglasses or a welding helmet. When handling a torch, you need to
first make sure that you have put the right kind of tip attached to the torch. Make sure that the tip is
on their tightly. Not to lose or the flame will come out of the bottom attachment instead out of the
tip. Next, make sure that your acetylene and oxygen tanks are turned on. You want the acetylene
gage to be showing between three and five. And your oxygen tank is between ten and fifteen. When
handling a torch, make sure that you have on both welding gloves. You don't want to get third
degree burns by accidentally dropping it. Having a basic torch, there will be two valves by the
handle. On different torches there are different ways to control how much acetylene and oxygen are
coming out of it. On the basic torch, one valve controls your amount of acetylene, and the other
controls the amount of oxygen. Both are concentrated out of the tip of the torch. The acetylene valve
is connected to
The red hose, and oxygen valve is the green hose. You want to turn your acetylene valve on so that
you can barely feel some coming out of the tip and onto your hand. Then you take your sparker, and
light up the torch. When the torch is lit, take your hand away from it immediately so that

Analysis Of The Book ' The Night ' Of The Treaty '
This week I have kept my mind clear of this weekend 's plans. Jake would be showing up in a little
bit and after he reminded Edward of the treaty he was going to ride back to La Push with me. Today
was Tiffany 's birthday and Embry and I went in together and bought her a present that we were
going to give her. I had stayed up late last night decorating a cake. It was her favorite, strawberry,
and I had put chocolate frosting on top. I even used white frosting that I dyed green to write 'Happy
Birthday ' and put flowers around edges.
The phone rang as finished making dinner. I was taking most of it with me to the Call 's but I was
leaving some of it for Uncle Charlie 's and Bella 's dinner. Edward would be bringing Bella home

"But that 's not going to keep Bella from throwing me under the bus. You know how she hates me. If
she goes down for this she is just going to take me with her." I said. I have better things to do then
stare at my four walls for however long Uncle Charlie grounds me for.
"Then tell him you felt that it was up to Bella to come clean about what she had been up to. That
tattling is never the answer." Jake said.
"If I get in trouble, you get to tell Embry why I am in deep shit." I said. Jake laughed.
"Just wait in your room till after I bring the bike. After he screams and yells, come down and offer to
drive me home. We go around the corner and park. I wait until Bella and her leech show up and I
remind them of the treaty. Then we actually head down to the res. You can drop me at Sam and
Emily 's and I 'll stay there till I go home later. I 'll have to report to Sam anyway." Jake said.
"Okay. See you in a little bit." I said and hung up.
I wrapped the cake and put it in the back of the car and grabbed the wrapped box that held Embry 's
and my gift to Tiffany and put it in the center console. Everything was ready for Jake 's big stunt. I
went upstairs to get my homework done while I waited.
Uncle Charlie yelled up the stairs that he was home at five forty–five and it was about five

Creative Story : A Short Story
It was a cold New Year's Eve night, as I stumble down the lonely streets with my almost empty
bottle of champagne. Slurring my words, vision blurred, and constantly losing my train of thought. I
hear a loud BANG! The bottle falls to the ground and shatters on the sidewalk. I jumped, but then I
realized it was the fireworks. It was a new year, and I am a new man. My wife, Margaret had left
me, and took the kids with her. I don't blame her for what she did, I blame myself. At this point the
only thing I have left on this earth is me. On the bright side, I am now 25, my birthday was about an
hour ago. Then I hear another loud bang noise, but this time it was a lot closer. As I turn to
investigate a, black hood is thrown over my head and covers my blurry vision. I am thrown into a
metal like floor, and then hear an accelerator as I slide and hit a metal door. I feel a small prick in
my neck and am out like a light.
When I came to I was in a wooden room with no windows, and 1 door. On the floor and chained to
the wall. There was a camera in the far corner. I thought to myself, "Why is this happening." "Who
could have done this." But then I hear 2 men speaking, but I wasn't sure what language. The chain
won't budge and I have several different bruises just on my 2 arms. A man entered, speaking
gibberish. He gave me the I'M–GOING–TO–KILL–YOU–ANYWAY–SO–TELL–ME–WHAT–I–

Time After Childhood And Maturation
Moment in Between "in Just–" by E.E Cummings articulates the period between childhood and
maturation. Similar to the title, the poem focuses on the period of time after childhood and before
puberty. The theme, natural and unstoppable process of growing up, is centralized throughout the
poem. Cummings uses an amount of various literally techniques to help get his point across such as;
importance of setting, diction, tone, pace, allusion, symbolism, and structure. Overall the poem
creates the difficult, but relatable reality many children had to face growing out of their childhood. It
is hinted to the reader that the poem takes place in a park or a playground after the last memory of
winter melts away. The park helps create a sense of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The puddles left behind by the snow correlates to the children leaving their childhood but its mark is
still visible. The importance of the children in the park helps to express that childhood is still present
in the children but is quickly fading away. By the children playing in the park it creates the
significance of the children getting the last few reminders of their innocence before it completely
melts away. The description of the Balloon man varies as the poem progresses. In line 4 he is
described as "lame" this expresses the children's point of view, they view him as old and disabled.
The children see him in such a light because at this point they are still enjoying their childhood and
growing old as an elder seems so far away and inconceivable to them they see the Balloon man
weaker than what he actually might be. The thought of the Balloon man changes when he is
described as "queer" at this point of time the children are starting to experience their awakenings
and it's weird and odd to them (line 11). In the first three stanzas happier words are used to display
the children's excitement about growing up. The description of the puddles left over by the snow are
combined with lighter and positive words, "mud–luscious" and "puddle–wonderful" portrays how
excited the children are at growing up–at first (lines 2–3 and 10). As the poem progresses less words
are used. The progression of simpler words expresses the hesitation of the children.

Descriptive Essay Riding
What interests do you have? I have many interests but the most intriguing one would be riding.
Riding allows me to have fun and enjoy myself with friends and family. I like to ride at Four
Seasons, Mountain Ridge, Scott Having, and Mines and Meadows. These places is where i have fun
riding the most.
Four Seasons was a fun trip, I went with kaidyn, Maddix his little brother, and Damion Kaidyn's dad.
My quad needed some work done so i rode Kaidyn's 660 grizzly and Kaidyn took his trx450r. The
first day of riding me and Kaidyn woke up early and went through some of the trails then came back
to camp and waited for Maddix, Damion, and his friends to get ready then we went riding again but
with all of them. As we were riding we had to go up this big hill and when we were going up
Maddix flipped his quad but he was fine and he got up and kept riding. The next day we went to the
muddy section of the trails and Maddix, Kaidyn, and I got stuck and had to get pulled out. And our
last day there the Trx450r had electrical problems and we had to hall it back and tried to get it
running but one of the wires were bad. So that was my trip to Four Seasons.
Mountain Ridge was probably the funniest riding place i ever been to before. It was Tyler, Brandon,
Anthony, and me who was there riding. It was about 40 degrees out and my hands were numb but it
was worth it. Tyler was riding his Raptor 700, Brandon was on his Kx125, Anthony was on his
ltz250, and I was on my old

My ATV Trip
One of my all time favorite things to do is to ride the ATV. I first started riding the ATV when I was
6 months old with my Grandpa. I started to drive when I was 4 years old with my Grandpa. Then I
started driving by myself when I was ten years old. Going on an ATV trip means spending time with
my family and enjoying the sights in the mountains. On my last ATV trip I had a blast. It had rained
so much that there was mud puddles everywhere. During a day trip ride with my Mom, Uncle John
and Aunt Carmen we came across multiple puddles of mud. My Uncle John, Aunt Carmen and I
drove our ATVs thru the mud puddles and got very dirty. My Mom totally avoided the mud puddles
and we were all laughing at her! The last ride of that trip my Uncle John and I went on a night ride.
My Mom made me promise to not drive thru the mud puddles. {I so didn't listen!} Uncle John and I
drove thru the biggest mud puddle ever. We were completely covered in mud. My Mom was very
mad at me and said she didn't want to hear any complaining if I got sick. Guess who got sick? My
Mom who got a double ear infection and I didn't even get a sniffle.
I love baseball! My Mom told me that when I was 3 my Dad signed me up for peewee soccer. I
hated soccer and cried at every game. After soccer ened my Mom said that I asked to play the game
where there is the ball and the stick. I didn't even know that the stick was called a bat. My parents
signed me up for peewee baseball and I was hooked. I have been

Poopless Mishaps Narrative
I accidentally bathed in poop once. Let me explain. The first time I saw snow was when my family
and I were at my grandparents' ranch in New Mexico for Christmas. I was six years old and my
sister Alana was three, so naturally we were excited to go explore the snow for the first time.
Because my grandparent's ranch is relatively isolated, my parents decided that it would be okay for
the two of us to go play outside unattended. We donned our brand new matching pink fur boots and
our warmest jackets and ventured into the white wonderland that awaited us. About an hour into our
escapade, we encountered a large icy puddle right in front of the horse stable. Alana jumped on the
ice which broke with a satisfying *crunch*. I giggled joyfully and ... Show more content on

Nowadays, we venture out with our dog to the park every time it rains and we stomp around in the
biggest (poopless) puddles we can find until the three of us are completely soaked. Even though I
have to focus on issues that are much more pressing than ruining my new boots, like preparing for
tests and working toward my future, I still find time to reconnect with my inner child. Together, my
sister and I have conducted several backyard "experiments" that have usually ended in disaster. One
time, we "discovered" that it's next to impossible to clean tiny Styrofoam balls out of the grass, and
another time we "invented" the world's best slime that ended up staining the back patio a very
unpleasant shade of purple. Our adventures and misadventures have allowed me to foster my
curiosity and desire to discover new things. Alana and I go to the beach and ride the waves and fill
up our wetsuits with gallons of water and jump around, laughing hysterically at the water bouncing
up and down like a fat belly. When I fall off of my boogie board, I still try again because I know
how much fun a successful ride can be. These experiences have allowed me to be unapologetically
goofy and given me opportunities to not take life so seriously all the time. Fear of ending up covered
in poop has never held me back from having

How Does Clear Liquid Affect The Rate Of Evaporation Rates
This is my research report on my science project. My topic is What Clear liquid affects the rate of
evaporation. I chose this topic because I wasn't able to choose a project I wanted to do. So I looked
through the list and saw this topic. Then suddenly I think back to a wet afternoon and very cold a
few years ago. That morning I saw a puddle of water and when I came back it was half way drained
down. So i thought back to that moment long ago which I still remember. And so not only I needed a
project, I also was a little interested into this topic. I was also interested into rates of evaporation
when I saw this question. The question i'd be answering is What clear liquid has a faster evaporation
rate.
For the independent Variable, we're changing one of the liquids to something different. We're
changing hydrogen peroxide to Nail Polish remover. we'll be keeping water, alcohol, ... Show more

We'll measure how long each liquid evaporates at room temperature. So each liquid won't evaporate
faster just because of the temperature. Each liquid has a different evaporation rate. Evaporation
occurs when a liquid is sitting in a spot for too long. The evaporation rate of a liquid is affected of
what type of liquid it is. And the temperature of what the liquid is sitting in. Such as a puddle sitting
in 100 Degrees Fahrenheit. The puddle will evaporate faster because it is in a hot environment.
Evaporation can also happen when it's cold. However heat makes the liquid evaporate faster. I did a
lot of research, and based on a lot of sites. Some say Nail polish remover evaporates faster than
alcohol. While some say Alcohol is faster than nail polish remover. So i'll say nail polish remover is
going to be faster. If i leave nail polish out then it will evaporate the fastest. Because nail polish
contains acetone which makes its molecules evaporate faster to

Case Study: Duty Of Care
BUS107 Assessment Duty of Care Issue: Does the defendant Aldi Supermarket owe the Plaintiff
Tamara and its customers a duty of care? Rule: Duty of care are known as legal obligation to avoid
causing harm and arises where harm is 'reasonable foreseeable' if care is not taken. It is also stated
that you owe a duty of care to any person that might be affected by your actions and whose
wellbeing you should consider before you do something. Application: In this case, the Plaintiff
Tamara injure herself by slipping on a puddle of melted ice cream in Aldi Supermarket. The injuries
happened on Aldi Supermarket's premises. This established that the defendant has duty of care to the
customers that are shopping on their premises. As reiterated in the case of Donoghue v Stevenson
(1932), Stevenson owes a duty of care to his customers as manufacturer of the product that he is
selling. This shows the similarity between Stevenson and Aldi Supermarket in this case which both
owes duty of care their customer. Conclusion: In conclusion, Aldi Supermarket owes a duty of care
to the Plaintiff Tamara and their customers. Standard of Care Issue: The Plaintiff Tamara will need

Transmission Fluid Leaks
Checking for Transmission Fluid Leaks
If you have any concerns at all about your transmission, the first thing you should do is check for
transmission fluid leaks. Sometimes it's easy to determine that your transmission fluid is leaking,
and sometimes it takes a little bit more meddling to figure out what's going on.
But either way, it's important to know the signs of fluid leaks. With any transmission problems, the
earlier you catch and attend to them, the better. Transmission issues can lead to pricey repairs or
even safety hazards. Therefore, make it your business to know the signs of fluid leaks. They can be
an indication of other potentially bigger problems, and even if they aren't in your case, they're still
trouble on their own. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you can't start your car at all, that may mean that you have no transmission fluid left to begin
with. Your car needs to have normal transmission fluid levels to start, so if it can't, that usually
means it's been losing fluid.
⦁ There Are Puddles in Your Driveway
This is one of the most obvious signs of transmission fluid leakage. Not every puddle under your car
is transmission fluid, so know what to look for. Transmission fluid is usually red. It may be
brownish sometimes, if it hasn't been changed for a long time.
In addition, transmission fluid is slick, much like oil, and smells similar to petroleum. Transmission
fluid that hasn't been changed in a while may smell burnt. If you identify a puddle in your driveway
as transmission fluid, you can be pretty certain you have a leak.
⦁ The Puddles Are in the Right Places
If you do have a leak and you think it may be transmission fluid, the next thing you should do is see
where exactly in the car it's coming from. Transmission fluid can drip from the middle and the front
of your car, so if the puddles are forming under those areas, it's probably a fluid leak. Take a good
look at the leak placement and then

Personal Narrative: If I Am Racist
I stared at the piece of paper on the table in front of me. I had sat at the same desk, in the same chair
for over an hour now, staring at the same piece of paper. My mind had gone blank with a serious
case of writer's block. I looked at the clock on the plain, beige colored wall and sighed. An hour had
passed and I continued to look at that dusty, old clock on the wall. Seconds turned into minutes,
which eventually turned into an hour. My long, wavy brown hair brushed over the paper that
decided if I would become a lawyer or not. I had endured almost seven years of school all to stare at

waited forever. Dr. Sloan finally walked into my room right as I was about to drift off. "Your scans
came back, and you have a brain aneurysm," he said, pausing to let me take it all in. "It has grown to
a very large size. The nurses told me you had been having terrible headaches and symptoms for
months now. Why have you not come to the doctors before now?" he said with a sincere, worried
look on his face. I thought for a moment and started to defend myself, but nothing came to mind. I

because Sloan was staring at me waiting for my answer. "Can you please just let me have some time

to exit the room, but he looked like he wanted to say something. He stared at me with a curious

Essay on Structure Of The Lost Honour O
Heinrich Böll uses his novel, The Lost Honour of Katharina Blum, to attack modern journalistic
ethics as well as the values of contemporary Germany. The structure of this novel is important to
conveying his message. He uses a police report format, differences in chapter lengths, narrator or
author intervention, a subtitle, and the extensive use of the 'puddle' metaphor. All these things
contribute towards the message in the text.
The puddle metaphor is the most significant device used in the structure of the novel. The 'puddle';
means the collective information from all the sources. The narrator speaks of the information as
'fluid' and he also talks of the 'conduction' of the information coming from these different sources.

Around this time is the celebratory period of Carnival. However there is no hint of any celebratory
moods in the tone. It is all extremely formal. It can be said that the format of this book is related to
how Katharina Blum herself lives her life. The possible reason that this story is set in this police
report format is that Heinrich Böll wants the reader to know the facts since all the facts come
together in the end. The story uses flashbacks so the reader knows what is happening somewhere
else at the same time. It could be said that the reader is finding out all this information in the same
order as the police investigation. It seems that the information is scattered and, just like the police,
the reader has to try and piece together the puzzle. However, this is all done for the reader in the
end. This is another example of how the 'puddle' metaphor is used. The information scattered means
that the channel is always changing course.
The tone of this story, and even the text itself says that this is a police report, but the use of short and
long chapters could possibly suggest something different. In the short chapters there are little 'bursts'
of action, whilst in the longer chapters it goes into far more detail. This is like a newspaper in a way,
the headlines with the 'bursts' of action, and the pages the story is continued on go into more detail,
however, this reasoning is probably incorrect since the author is trying

Green Field Essay
Do you want to have a perfect green field for your baseball players? Here's some do's and dont's on
how to maintain the greenest grass and a perfect field to play on. Some good tips for your field is to
test your soil so you know what types of nutrients to use so the grass is healthy and green. Grading
your soil is also important so water will run off instead of sitting in one spot and making a puddle
which also makes preparing for a game easier. Make sure you rake and drag after every use and
especially before every game to make the field safer to play on. When you are dragging, use a rake
on the grass edges, home plate, and the pitcher's mound. A very important part of field maintenance
is keeping your field mowed. Creating a schedule for when to mow is helpful so you don't let your
grass get too short which might require you to mow multiple times a week. Lastly, pay attention to
items off the field such as bathrooms, dugouts, bleachers and sidewalks so you provide a safe clean
area for the crowd. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First of all, do not play on a wet field because it causes the soil to get hard when it dries. To go along
with wet fields, do not overwater your field because it will loosen the roots and drown the plants.
When mowing the field, do not cut the grass under ⅓ of an inch because, it weakens the plants and
increases the chances of it dying. Next, do not push, pull, rake, or sweep puddles into the grass.
Pushing or raking puddles into grass can damage and flood the grass. Maintaining a baseball field
takes patience and persistence but if you keep up with mowing, fertilizing, and dragging your field,
then you will have a nice, green, and safe facility to play

She became aware of the puddle when the plaintiff fell and asked for help. Nobody alerted the
defendant that water spilled in one of the aisles. Additionally, the defendant's employee checked the
aisles earlier in a routine check at 10AM and found no spill in the aisle. While the employee did
spray the cleaning spray in the aisles the night before, he's certain that the spray would not have
caused the puddle or a slippery surface. Thus, the defendant could not have known about the
condition and the risk. Additionally, to determine reasonable care, it must be determined if an unsafe
condition existed. Jury Instructions: 35. Reasonable care can be determined by the length of time an
unsafe condition has existed. Id. Length of time can be considered by a "just spilled" drink. An
owner is liable if a drink "just spilled" when it is reasonably foreseeable a spill would occur in a
shop that retails drinks, but an owner is not liable for spill that "just spilled" in a shop that does not
sell beverages because it is not reasonably foreseeable that a spill would occur. See Owens v. Coffee
Corner; see also Chad v. Bill's Camera Shop. In Chad v. Bill's Camera Shop, the court held that a
spill in a camera shop is not an unreasonable risk because the camera shop did not sell drinks to
spill. This is analogous to the present case. Here, the defendant did not sell drinks in the store, the
store sold toys. Thus, it would not be foreseeable that the toy store

Pebbles fly as my Jeep takes a corner too fast, my body lurching to the left at the sudden force of the
turn. I'm finally on Green, a quiet dirt road that stretches from Bennett Lake to Parshallville, a scenic
detour I ride down that lets me clear my head. I've only lived in the area for two years, but those two
years gave me something timeless––a home. My home isn't some conventional house in the suburbs,
although I did live in such a house, but it is the roads and the fields that webbed their way
throughout and past my city, and the memories I make with others while on them. I glance at my
sister Ken next to me; her right arm stretching lazily out of the window, the other scrolling the
radio's knob, attempting to find a worthy song to play. She's only nineteen, with hair shorter and
blonder than my own. Her presence soothes me, as if every pleasant memory we grew up making
together was somehow brought back through each of her smiles. She is my closest friend; she not
only provides the part of my home that allows me to be heard by someone who understands, but also
the knowledge that we cherish the same home. I pull my attention away from her, watching the
fields and houses quickly slip by. The few farmhouses we pass begin to fade until all that borders the
road are giant trees, each tipping over us to create a canopy of leaves. The road ahead appears dotted

The alluring sun rays peak through the clouds at Ponder Park as I walk on the damp grass. The

Off Road Racing Research Paper
If you are a fun off–road sports fan and you find it thrilling to have a good time, you can have a
great experience by riding mud bogging trucks. These vehicles are popular particularly in Canada
and the United States. Riding them is a very exhilarating experience. The mud bogging sport
combines the thrill of racing, the fun that comes from off–road racing, the love of performance
vehicles and the love that little boys have of playing in the mud, which many adults still have.
This sport was introduced in the 1970s when lovers of off–road racing started competing against
each other in muddy, boggy and dirty areas that they could find and this was mostly in swampy
areas of North Carolina. Mud bogging is now an organized competition since organizers of
motorsports shows picked up on it. They started including large pits filled with mud for racing in
their shows and the sport became popular for both racers and spectators. This popular event is
usually arranged ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Spaced out tread patterns allow the truck to be able to throw out the mud better. Another helpful idea
is to get larger and wider tires since the rig will be able to hold on to more ground. The other thing
that you should do is to seal up the electrical system. You can use vulcanizing silicone to seal up
exposed areas like the distributor and other engine parts that will fail to work if they come into
contact with water.
The other component that mud bogging trucks should contain for increased efficiency is a bigger
gear box. It will be able to push the tires better and you can choose to get after market gear box
packages. After installing bigger gear boxes, you should ensure that you grease them well in order to
prevent damage. You should also consider modifying the intake system so that it will not suck in
water. One way to do this is through the installation of a snorkel system, which will make it possible
for the intake system to breathe in fresh

Hyperbole In A Hanging Essay
By examining George Orwell's short story A Hanging, one can see by analyzing the hyperbole of the
dog and the prisoner dodging the puddle which illustrates how these characters signifies the
importance of each individual's life. Firstly, the dog is specifically used for over exaggeration
because it demonstrates innocence with its untamed spirit which makes it difficult for the warders to
murder it without them feeling the guilt. When the warders and the prisoner started getting relatively
close to the gallows, suddenly a 'bloody brute' known as the dog suddenly appeared in the yard and
it jumped up trying to lick the prisoner's face. The narrator in the story used the dog as a powerful
symbol to display that all men deserve to be equally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the superintendent angrily yells because of the interruption of the execution by stating, ''
Who let that bloody brute in here?' said the superintendent angrily.' Catch it, someone!' this quote
illustrates how the superintendent angrily is ordering the guards to catch the dog but the guards felt
guilty to capture such an innocent creature when the author states, 'Everyone stood aghast, too taken
aback even to grab at the dog.' which appears that the author purposely placed this scene to
demonstrate to the reader about the importance of each individual's life. Therefore, the use of
hyperbole of the dog in the story clearly illustrates that Orwell used characters such as the guards to
support the concept of the dog trying to display the significance of a human being. Secondly, as the
prisoner was being guided to the gallows, he stepped aside to avoid the puddle. then the narrator
began to express his own feelings on the prisoner's action which states, ''It is curious, but till that
moment I had never realized what it means to destroy a healthy, conscious man. When I saw the
prisoner step aside to avoid the puddle, I saw the mystery, the unspeakable wrongness, of cutting a

Symbolism In A Hanging By George Orwell
By examining George Orwell's short story, A Hanging, one can see that the symbolism of the
unexpected canine, and the symbolic action of stepping around a puddle can illustrate the
importance of each individual life. To start off, it is evident in the story that the presence of an
animal was not a common occurrence within the walls of the prison. As the narrator observed the
prisoner due to be hanged, he saw that he was not much more than a Hindu man approaching death.
But unexpectedly, a joyous dog appeared and approached the scene of people and went straight for
that Hindu man. It's love and attention for the prisoner put everyone around them in shock, as the
action began to humanize and be rid the anonymity that the prisoner's life once ... Show more

The realization of the catastrophic deeds being carried through to be rid those full, healthy lives
reinstated the narrator's morality for that short period of time. The immediate transition of thoughts
is clearly demonstrated when the narrator states, "It is curious, but till that moment I had never
realized what it means to destroy a healthy, conscious man. When I saw the prisoner step aside to
avoid the puddle, I saw the mystery, the unspeakable wrongness, of cutting a life short when it is in
full tide" (Orwell 2). If it were not for the prisoner caring about such a miniscule act, the
sensitization towards the prejudice murders being committed would not have occurred as strongly to
the narrator. The 'unspeakable wrongness of cutting a life short when it is in full tide' developed his
understanding of the wrongdoing behind the negative imperialistic environment that surrounds him.
This emphasizes to the reader how a slight reaction that is often dismissed, can symbolize the deeper
value of a 'healthy, conscious man' having enough dignity left to avoid such a small mishap like

Puddles

'A puddle is a small mass of liquid, usually water, which is formed on a surface. It can be formed by
dips or imperfections on the surface.' J R EGGEN
Chapter 1
A puddle is a small mass of liquid, usually water, which is formed on a surface. It can be formed by
dips or imperfections on the surface. Puddles are usually formed from rain water although
technically it can be any liquid (e.g. oil puddles). They can be made naturally or by humans;
purposely / accidently. They affect everything in its path even if it just a little bit although they can
have larger effects like droning people and animals or sinking cars and vans. This can cause lots of
problems as they might need their car or van for something important.
A puddle is generally small enough for a person to step over or shallow enough to walk through, and
too small to cross by a boat or raft although there is no exact proportion specifications to define
wherever it is a puddle or not, although is it gets big enough some would say it was a lake or flood.
Puddles are very common everywhere where it rains and are unlikely in dry places where there is
little rainfall. In the UK it rains a lot of the time and our weather is often very cold and wet. This can
be an inconvenience as it stop or delays our normal lives and on a much larger scale can cause major
damage and lead to flooding; especially if it's in a dent on the

Why Elephants Are Scared Of Mice
Why Elephants Are Scared of Mice
Thousands of years ago in Africa, elephants roamed the Earth without a single worry. Their
immense size and strength had caused them to develop exaggerated pride, overconfidence and the
belief that they were superior to all other creatures. George in particular, was no exception. He was
more egotistic and arrogant than the entire elephant race combined. George only allowed the others
to refer to himself as "Master George" and was incredibly irritated when smaller creatures would
even glance at him without proper deference.
Due to physical weakness and miniature size, most field mice had grown completely obedient,
cowardly and feeble in character. Elephants such as George would often bully, hurt or even ... Show

George the elephant was of the opinion that he there was nobody as attractive or intelligent as
himself. For this reason he presumed that it was a waste of time for him to meet other female
elephants to build a family with. Therefore, George's only task was to find water for himself. Pedro
on the other hand, had recently encountered a stunning female mouse who he cared for a great deal.
Although he was challenged to find enough water for two beings, his size was finally an advantage
due to the fact that mice required less water than larger creatures.
After hours of searching for even the smallest bodies of water, Pedro eventually came across a
sizeable puddle. His hard work had payed off; he was ready to return home to provide water to his
partner. However, in order to continue his journey, Pedro needed several gulps of water himself. As
Pedro drank blissfully, he noticed a large silhouette approaching the puddle. He could recognize this
creature anywhere. It was an elephant.
It didn't take George a long time to discover puddles that had not yet dried. George only needed to
stand on his hind legs to see all the bodies of water around. He would then walk towards the pond,
and proceed to use his long trunk to suck up the remaining water. After having used his methods on
four different puddles, George casually strolled in the direction of the fifth. He was about to begin
consuming the water, when he

Child Movement Research Paper
Movement is one of those tricky things for children, complex movement especially so. There are
certain things they can do at a very young age and other things to be learnt. In their early stages as a
living being they use movement as a means of communication. To tell their caretakers something,
such as, "I'm hungry" , "I'm sleepy" , "I want to sit up" or "I hit myself in the face with this silly
rattle". All these things they want to say and can't say. As they get older they become more
conscious of their ability to learn new ways of moving. They move from tummy time to sitting up to
crawling, walking and jumping to name a few in no random order. Veering into another direction
they then begin to start applying this new found range of motion to daily life. Scooting across the
room to get their bottle of milk, literally doing the splits while getting their diaper changed,
stretching theirs arms upward to assist with a change of clothing, running down the sidewalk instead
of walking, climbing up the ladder to get to the slide at the playground, moving out of the way to
avoid obstacles such as stepping over rain puddles to avoid getting their feet wet. On the other hand
they also do the opposite like jumping directly into water or a rain puddle just out of curiosity and
end up with unexpected consequences. Whatever their instinct in terms of movement may be or their
reasoning behind their movement choice it is consequential and so is dance. ... Show more content

Personal Narrative Essay
All I remember is my parents screaming for me to run and never look back, they told me no matter
who knows my backstory and who's afraid of me and because of that I should keep moving forward.
I was 7 when a fire started in my house, my parents died in the fire trying to save me. I barely
escaped, clutching on to the last breath of life I had in my body. The doctors said I shouldn't have
escaped but somehow I did, they said that I'm very special for surviving . I thought I was just lucky,
but my survival came with a cost. I didn't realize that I was different from other people, I didn't
know the true power I possessed. Until one fateful night.
I slid under a car and ran and ran, but the darkness kept getting closer and closer, I jumped a rickety
old fence and sprinted across the tan grass. No matter how fast I ran I couldn't escape it, I knew it
was gonna catch me. I knew I was gonna die.
I jolted up from the couch in a cold sweat. "God, I've been having that same dream for about two
weeks now" I thought to myself. I looked over at the clock and it said 6:25. I groaned then flopped
back down. My eyes drifted from side to side thinking about my parents. I stretched and yawned,
then slowly rolled off the couch, I stood up and went to the dingy kitchen. I opened the greyish
fridge and grabbed a carton of milk. "Hey," Zach whispered. Zachary Moyer is one of my only

like is a picture of a small wooden ladder that's in the water lying next to old rusty boat. It makes me
think about when I use to go fishing with my father and grandfather. My grandfather boat was rusty
like the one in her picture. I like her artwork because it reminds me of my hometown. I can actually
picture the boats in a line waiting to be released from the dock to get in the water. Her pictures are a
really good example of country life. Her artwork title should've been name a day in the life of a

best I've viewed so far. I really can't explain how much I like her layout. All of her picture
complement each other including the same color scale and how the pictures are reflection off little

Cause Of Puddles
If there is one thing that you can count on in the Houston area, it is that there will be plenty of rain.
Naturally, in the middle of a thunderstorm, you cannot avoid having puddles in your parking lot.
Once the rain has stopped, however, the puddles should disappear quickly. If the puddles linger, you
should take steps to resolve the underlying problem to prevent potential damage to your asphalt
pavement. Possible Causes of Puddles For a puddle to form, there must be a low spot in the
pavement. Low spots can be caused by a number of different issues. Heavy equipment or
overweight vehicles such as buses or trucks can compress your pavement beyond its limits.

Camera Lucid Reflections Of Photography
"What the Photograph reproduces to infinity has occurred only once: the Photograph mechanically
repeats what could never be repeated existentially," Roland Barthes stated in his book Camera
Lucida: Reflections of Photography. Photography is the key to capturing a moment in time that will
not reoccur again. You can try, but it will not be that exact moment you once saw before. A camera
is a very powerful tool. It allows the artist to use it to display and present their message they are
trying to get across to their audience and artistic view. A photograph will keep time frozen and allow
us the audience to re–experience whenever we want to. The reason I mention stopping time is
because in the image named Carmen photographed by Richard Avedon he did just that. This
photograph is of a woman jumping over a puddle. Richard Avedon stopped time and created this
fashion and street image all in one, quite beautiful may I add. Many people can try to recreate this
image but never will they get the exact leap. From photographing identification cards for the
merchant marines, making it all the way into the fashion world, the iconic American photographer,
Richard Avedon. He was best known for his fashion photography as well as his large–scale
character–revealing portraits. After he served two years in the merchant marines he then studied

Allusion And Repetition In Cumming's When The World Is...
When the World is Puddle–Wonderful:
An Analysis of Enjambments, Allusion, and Repetition in cumming's "[in Just–]"
In "[in Just–]," cummings brings the reader into a world filled with balloons, playing children, and
happier times–only to then insert an allusion to Pan, a lecherous Greek god. On the surface, e.e.
cummings utilizes enjambments, allusion, and repetition to urge the reader to immerse themselves
within the coming of spring and their past childhood. It would appear, however, that the subtleties
within the poem are what make the reader question the innocence of childhood, and cummings
construction of it. With the introduction and constant repetition of the Pan–like balloon man
throughout the poem, cummings urges the reader to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cummings also highly relies on spacing to tell the story for him. In particular, within stanzas two
and three, cummings puts a significant space between the line mentioning the children and the line
describing the games. This space is used to place importance on the children, and then the games;
with the clear distinction that they are of separate meaning, regardless of their correlation. While this
may seem like a peculiar distinction, Cummings utilizes it to make the reader pause and focus solely
on the children and then on the games they're running from. Overall, following the mention of
childhood games with the explicit statement that it is now spring forces the reader to look closer at
all of the characters at play within "[in Just–]" and call into question if the spring within cummings
poem is as it appears to be. However peaceful this play ground scene is, cummings then inserts the
balloonman immediately after each stanza regarding the children. For example, right after the line
"it's spring," Cummings inserts,
"and

it just the coincidence or destiny playing tricks on me?
The next day, I was forcefully sat on the throne by the dead man's brother. I could not understand his

Hazards In Health And Safety Workplace Essay
The OHS&W (Occupational Health and Safety Workplace) various types of hazards in the scenario
is: Physical Hazard: A chair on the floor and fragmented glass and Biological Hazard: blood spilt on
the floor, the blood splattered on the walls and the officer's blood mixed with the offender's blood.
However, if the scenario was different and the HSR (Health Safety Representative) was in the room
while the officers were in the room as well as the offender. The scenario played out, the other
potential hazards in the room would be the offender with the chair as a threat is a physical hazard.
The officer slipping on the blood is physical hazard but the officer's blood mixing with the
offender's blood would be considered a biological hazard due to potential infections of diseases and
health problems could occur. The offender not being restrained can also prove to be a hazard
depending on his behaviour and attitude and would be classified as potential hazard.
The puddle of blood on the floor has a moderate to high likelihood that it would cause an injury or
illness. The shattered fragmented glass on the floor would be a high likelihood to cause injury as it
can penetrate the skin. The officer's blood being mixed with the offender's blood would be severe as
the consequences of infection of diseases and health problems.

years would be worth it. It better be. "Wow, look how high we are!" My sister, Fionna yelled. Fionna
and I have always wondered what this experience would be like, and man was it awesome. "Yeah,
it's amazing isn't it." I zoned out and as we rose and flew through the clouds. I couldn't stop, I was
mesmerized. I stared until I drifted asleep. I woke up to hear the pilot say enthusiastically, "Welcome
to Puerto Rico!" I couldn't believe it. So many questions popped into my head. Will people be
dressed differently than at home? Will it be hot or cold outside? What time is it? I eventually put my
thoughts aside, stood up, grabbed my suitcase and hustled off the plane. Just stepping into the
airport, it was significantly warmer. I really wanted to see that zipline. I couldn't wait. It took about
a half hour to get to our hotel, The Hilton Ponce. It was a nice hotel, but none of us payed

Airline Marketing Plan
Executive Summary
1.0 Executive Summary
Puddle Jumpers Airlines, Inc. is a new consumer airline in its formative stages. It is being organized
to take advantage of a specific gap in the short–haul domestic travel market. The gap exists in low
cost service out of Anytown, U.S.A. The gap in the availability of low cost service in and out of the
Anytown hub coupled with the demand for passenger travel on selected routes from Anytown
indicates that a new entrant airline could be expected to capture a significant portion of current air
travel business at that hub.
The management of Puddle Jumpers is experienced in airline start–ups. Previously management

Marketing; either dealing with channel problems and barriers to entry; or solving problems with
major advertising and promotion budgets. Targeted market share must be achieved even amidst
expected competition. Product quality. Always with safety foremost. Services delivered on time,
costs controlled, marketing budgets managed. There is a temptation to fix on growth at the expense
of profits. Also, rapid growth will be curtailed in order to keep maintenance standards both strict and
measurable. Cost control. The over–all cost per ASM (available seat mile) is pegged at 7.0 cents or
less in 1996 dollars. This ASM factor places Puddle Jumpers in a grouping of the lowest four in the
airline industry within the short–haul market. (US Air, the dominate carrier in the Anytown market,
averages 12.0 cents per ASM by comparison). The only three airlines with lower operating costs
also operate older and less reliable equipment, and even then the lowest short–haul cost in the airline
industry is currently Southwest at 6.43 cents per ASM.

How Does Oil Make Rainbows On Water
Light works in many strange and mysterious ways. Most people recognize the basic properties of
light that they see in front of them, like that light bends in water and reflects off of certain surfaces.
However, few stop to consider explanations behind these phenomena. Few question light, or in fact,
question any natural laws. An interesting feature of light that few truly wonder about is the beautiful
reflections of colors in puddles of water with oil on them. The colors that oil creates when it lies on
top of water seems like a fact of life to many people; they never question it. That said, questioning
these simple facts can lead to a better understanding of the world around us, and teaches people to
think critically of what surrounds them; learning about why oil makes rainbows on water can help
instill thinking patterns that help people in all walks of life. Light reflecting off of oil on the surface
of water functions in much the same way that light reflecting off of the front and back surfaces of
glass does. When light goes reflects off of glass, depending on the thickness of the glass, a different
percentage of the light reflects. This percentage can range from zero to sixteen percent. As the glass
gets thicker and thicker, it becomes clear that the amount of light reflected works in a cycle. The
amount of reflected light starts at zero percent and becomes greater and greater till it is at sixteen
percent, and then it goes back down to zero percent. This cycle repeats

Descriptive Essay About State Park
"Brook! You will never guess what I saw at the state park in Arkansas with my family." "I want to
hear all about it, walk me through it step by step and don't leave any detail out."
"OK, I will start with the drive to the park."
The road is secluded, trees encompass you as you drive. The GPS directs that it is only a few more
miles, but in your mind, you know you need to turn around. Then the trees open up to a little
wooden cabin just off the road. After 6 hours in the vehicle, you bust open the door, and as your legs
swing out the door, you can feel a stretch throughout your entire body. Your body was stiff but now
is surrounded by the fresh air. The little cabin is actually a camp store, and in it you find the
assistance and the map needed to tackle the upcoming adventure. The road winds a few more miles
till you near the lodge. Buckled down with water, a camera, and wearing the proper shoes you walk
toward the trail. Something catches your eye, and with a turn of your head, there it is. The lodge
overlooks the most incredible view, one that could only have been created by God. The lookout
reveals mountains of trees with an unforeseeable future. After admiring the beauty, the trail calls
your name. It starts out wide and covered with gravel, without a moment to think the terrain
changes. You start to walk down the mountain, the gravel turned to dirt and with the help from the
dew and rain it was mud, and the mountain grew a little steeper with every breath. Later, you

Welding Career Guide

  • 1. Welding Essay If you want to be a welder, and actually have a career, you can go to a welding school and learn how to weld, or you can try to be a welders helper and just learn the trade. Welding can be a tough job if you don't know what you are doing or you do not enjoy doing it. Welding is a fabrication or sculptural process that joins materials together (Modern Welding). This is the process that uses fuel gases and oxygen to make a molten pool of metal to fuse together two pieces of metal, called puddeling (oxy–fuel welding and cutting. Wikipedia). If you decide to weld as your profession, most welding school students have little trouble finding jobs and finding people certified to weld correctly (Welding.Wikipedia). Welding is a very important ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For welding, you need clothes that can get dirty and that can be ruined. You need long pants, old shoes, a welding jacket, and sunglasses or a welding helmet. When handling a torch, you need to first make sure that you have put the right kind of tip attached to the torch. Make sure that the tip is on their tightly. Not to lose or the flame will come out of the bottom attachment instead out of the tip. Next, make sure that your acetylene and oxygen tanks are turned on. You want the acetylene gage to be showing between three and five. And your oxygen tank is between ten and fifteen. When handling a torch, make sure that you have on both welding gloves. You don't want to get third degree burns by accidentally dropping it. Having a basic torch, there will be two valves by the handle. On different torches there are different ways to control how much acetylene and oxygen are coming out of it. On the basic torch, one valve controls your amount of acetylene, and the other controls the amount of oxygen. Both are concentrated out of the tip of the torch. The acetylene valve is connected to The red hose, and oxygen valve is the green hose. You want to turn your acetylene valve on so that you can barely feel some coming out of the tip and onto your hand. Then you take your sparker, and light up the torch. When the torch is lit, take your hand away from it immediately so that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Jake would be showing up in a little bit and after he reminded Edward of the treaty he was going to ride back to La Push with me. Today was Tiffany 's birthday and Embry and I went in together and bought her a present that we were going to give her. I had stayed up late last night decorating a cake. It was her favorite, strawberry, and I had put chocolate frosting on top. I even used white frosting that I dyed green to write 'Happy Birthday ' and put flowers around edges. The phone rang as finished making dinner. I was taking most of it with me to the Call 's but I was leaving some of it for Uncle Charlie 's and Bella 's dinner. "But that 's not going to keep Bella from throwing me under the bus. You know how she hates me. If she goes down for this she is just going to take me with her." I said. I have better things to do then stare at my four walls for however long Uncle Charlie grounds me for. "Then tell him you felt that it was up to Bella to come clean about what she had been up to. That tattling is never the answer." Jake said. "If I get in trouble, you get to tell Embry why I am in deep shit." I said. Jake laughed. "Just wait in your room till after I bring the bike. After he screams and yells, come down and offer to drive me home. We go around the corner and park. I wait until Bella and her leech show up and I remind them of the treaty. Then we actually head down to the res. You can drop me at Sam and Emily 's and I 'll stay there till I go home later. I 'll have to report to Sam anyway." Jake said. "Okay. See you in a little bit." I said and hung up. I wrapped the cake and put it in the back of the car and grabbed the wrapped box that held Embry 's and my gift to Tiffany and put it in the center console. Everything was ready for Jake 's big stunt. I went upstairs to get my homework done while I waited. Uncle Charlie yelled up the stairs that he was home at five forty–five and it was about five ... Slurring my words, vision blurred, and constantly losing my train of thought. I hear a loud BANG! The bottle falls to the ground and shatters on the sidewalk. I jumped, but then I realized it was the fireworks. It was a new year, and I am a new man. My wife, Margaret had left me, and took the kids with her. I don't blame her for what she did, I blame myself. At this point the only thing I have left on this earth is me. On the bright side, I am now 25, my birthday was about an hour ago. Then I hear another loud bang noise, but this time it was a lot closer. As I turn to investigate a, black hood is thrown over my head and covers my blurry vision. I am thrown into a metal like floor, and then hear an accelerator as I slide and hit a metal door. I feel a small prick in my neck and am out like a light. When I came to I was in a wooden room with no windows, and 1 door. On the floor and chained to the wall. There was a camera in the far corner. I thought to myself, "Why is this happening." "Who could have done this." But then I hear 2 men speaking, but I wasn't sure what language. The chain won't budge and I have several different bruises just on my 2 arms. A man entered, speaking gibberish. He gave me the I'M–GOING–TO–KILL–YOU–ANYWAY–SO–TELL–ME–WHAT–I– WANT–TO–KNOW–TO– MAKE–THIS– EASIER–ON–BOTH–OF–US, look. Then he slapped me punched me, and kicked me. • 7. Time After Childhood And Maturation Moment in Between "in Just–" by E.E Cummings articulates the period between childhood and maturation. Similar to the title, the poem focuses on the period of time after childhood and before puberty. The theme, natural and unstoppable process of growing up, is centralized throughout the poem. Cummings uses an amount of various literally techniques to help get his point across such as; importance of setting, diction, tone, pace, allusion, symbolism, and structure. Overall the poem creates the difficult, but relatable reality many children had to face growing out of their childhood. It is hinted to the reader that the poem takes place in a park or a playground after the last memory of winter melts away. The park helps create a sense of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The puddles left behind by the snow correlates to the children leaving their childhood but its mark is still visible. The importance of the children in the park helps to express that childhood is still present in the children but is quickly fading away. By the children playing in the park it creates the significance of the children getting the last few reminders of their innocence before it completely melts away. The description of the Balloon man varies as the poem progresses. In line 4 he is described as "lame" this expresses the children's point of view, they view him as old and disabled. The children see him in such a light because at this point they are still enjoying their childhood and growing old as an elder seems so far away and inconceivable to them they see the Balloon man weaker than what he actually might be. The thought of the Balloon man changes when he is described as "queer" at this point of time the children are starting to experience their awakenings and it's weird and odd to them (line 11). In the first three stanzas happier words are used to display the children's excitement about growing up. The description of the puddles left over by the snow are combined with lighter and positive words, "mud–luscious" and "puddle–wonderful" portrays how excited the children are at growing up–at first (lines 2–3 and 10). As the poem progresses less words are used. The progression of simpler words expresses the hesitation of the children. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I like to ride at Four Seasons, Mountain Ridge, Scott Having, and Mines and Meadows. These places is where i have fun riding the most. Four Seasons was a fun trip, I went with kaidyn, Maddix his little brother, and Damion Kaidyn's dad. My quad needed some work done so i rode Kaidyn's 660 grizzly and Kaidyn took his trx450r. The first day of riding me and Kaidyn woke up early and went through some of the trails then came back to camp and waited for Maddix, Damion, and his friends to get ready then we went riding again but with all of them. As we were riding we had to go up this big hill and when we were going up Maddix flipped his quad but he was fine and he got up and kept riding. The next day we went to the muddy section of the trails and Maddix, Kaidyn, and I got stuck and had to get pulled out. And our last day there the Trx450r had electrical problems and we had to hall it back and tried to get it running but one of the wires were bad. So that was my trip to Four Seasons. Mountain Ridge was probably the funniest riding place i ever been to before. It was Tyler, Brandon, Anthony, and me who was there riding. It was about 40 degrees out and my hands were numb but it was worth it. Tyler was riding his Raptor 700, Brandon was on his Kx125, Anthony was on his ltz250, and I was on my old ... I started to drive when I was 4 years old with my Grandpa. Then I started driving by myself when I was ten years old. Going on an ATV trip means spending time with my family and enjoying the sights in the mountains. On my last ATV trip I had a blast. It had rained so much that there was mud puddles everywhere. During a day trip ride with my Mom, Uncle John and Aunt Carmen we came across multiple puddles of mud. My Uncle John, Aunt Carmen and I drove our ATVs thru the mud puddles and got very dirty. My Mom totally avoided the mud puddles and we were all laughing at her! The last ride of that trip my Uncle John and I went on a night ride. My Mom made me promise to not drive thru the mud puddles. {I so didn't listen!} Uncle John and I drove thru the biggest mud puddle ever. We were completely covered in mud. My Mom was very mad at me and said she didn't want to hear any complaining if I got sick. Guess who got sick? My Mom who got a double ear infection and I didn't even get a sniffle. I love baseball! • 13. Poopless Mishaps Narrative I accidentally bathed in poop once. Let me explain. The first time I saw snow was when my family and I were at my grandparents' ranch in New Mexico for Christmas. I was six years old and my sister Alana was three, so naturally we were excited to go explore the snow for the first time. Because my grandparent's ranch is relatively isolated, my parents decided that it would be okay for the two of us to go play outside unattended. We donned our brand new matching pink fur boots and our warmest jackets and ventured into the white wonderland that awaited us. About an hour into our escapade, we encountered a large icy puddle right in front of the horse stable. Alana jumped on the ice which broke with a satisfying *crunch*. I giggled joyfully and ... Even though I have to focus on issues that are much more pressing than ruining my new boots, like preparing for tests and working toward my future, I still find time to reconnect with my inner child. Together, my sister and I have conducted several backyard "experiments" that have usually ended in disaster. One time, we "discovered" that it's next to impossible to clean tiny Styrofoam balls out of the grass, and another time we "invented" the world's best slime that ended up staining the back patio a very unpleasant shade of purple. Our adventures and misadventures have allowed me to foster my curiosity and desire to discover new things. Alana and I go to the beach and ride the waves and fill up our wetsuits with gallons of water and jump around, laughing hysterically at the water bouncing up and down like a fat belly. When I fall off of my boogie board, I still try again because I know how much fun a successful ride can be. I chose this topic because I wasn't able to choose a project I wanted to do. So I looked through the list and saw this topic. Then suddenly I think back to a wet afternoon and very cold a few years ago. That morning I saw a puddle of water and when I came back it was half way drained down. So i thought back to that moment long ago which I still remember. And so not only I needed a project, I also was a little interested into this topic. I was also interested into rates of evaporation when I saw this question. The question i'd be answering is What clear liquid has a faster evaporation rate. For the independent Variable, we're changing one of the liquids to something different. We're changing hydrogen peroxide to Nail Polish remover. we'll be keeping water, alcohol, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We'll measure how long each liquid evaporates at room temperature. So each liquid won't evaporate faster just because of the temperature. Each liquid has a different evaporation rate. Evaporation occurs when a liquid is sitting in a spot for too long. The evaporation rate of a liquid is affected of what type of liquid it is. And the temperature of what the liquid is sitting in. Such as a puddle sitting in 100 Degrees Fahrenheit. The puddle will evaporate faster because it is in a hot environment. Evaporation can also happen when it's cold. However heat makes the liquid evaporate faster. I did a lot of research, and based on a lot of sites. Some say Nail polish remover evaporates faster than alcohol. While some say Alcohol is faster than nail polish remover. So i'll say nail polish remover is going to be faster. If i leave nail polish out then it will evaporate the fastest. Because nail polish contains acetone which makes its molecules evaporate faster to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Rule: Duty of care are known as legal obligation to avoid causing harm and arises where harm is 'reasonable foreseeable' if care is not taken. Sometimes it's easy to determine that your transmission fluid is leaking, and sometimes it takes a little bit more meddling to figure out what's going on. But either way, it's important to know the signs of fluid leaks. With any transmission problems, the earlier you catch and attend to them, the better. Transmission issues can lead to pricey repairs or even safety hazards. Therefore, make it your business to know the signs of fluid leaks. They can be an indication of other potentially bigger problems, and even if they aren't in your case, they're still trouble on their own. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If you can't start your car at all, that may mean that you have no transmission fluid left to begin with. Your car needs to have normal transmission fluid levels to start, so if it can't, that usually means it's been losing fluid. ⦁ There Are Puddles in Your Driveway This is one of the most obvious signs of transmission fluid leakage. Not every puddle under your car is transmission fluid, so know what to look for. Transmission fluid is usually red. It may be brownish sometimes, if it hasn't been changed for a long time. In addition, transmission fluid is slick, much like oil, and smells similar to petroleum. Transmission fluid that hasn't been changed in a while may smell burnt. If you identify a puddle in your driveway as transmission fluid, you can be pretty certain you have a leak. ⦁ The Puddles Are in the Right Places If you do have a leak and you think it may be transmission fluid, the next thing you should do is see where exactly in the car it's coming from. Transmission fluid can drip from the middle and the front of your car, so if the puddles are forming under those areas, it's probably a fluid leak. Take a good look at the leak placement and then ... I had sat at the same desk, in the same chair for over an hour now, staring at the same piece of paper. My mind had gone blank with a serious case of writer's block. I looked at the clock on the plain, beige colored wall and sighed. An hour had passed and I continued to look at that dusty, old clock on the wall. Seconds turned into minutes, which eventually turned into an hour. My long, wavy brown hair brushed over the paper that decided if I would become a lawyer or not. • 27. Essay on Structure Of The Lost Honour O Heinrich Böll uses his novel, The Lost Honour of Katharina Blum, to attack modern journalistic ethics as well as the values of contemporary Germany. The structure of this novel is important to conveying his message. He uses a police report format, differences in chapter lengths, narrator or author intervention, a subtitle, and the extensive use of the 'puddle' metaphor. All these things contribute towards the message in the text. The puddle metaphor is the most significant device used in the structure of the novel. The 'puddle'; means the collective information from all the sources. The narrator speaks of the information as 'fluid' and he also talks of the 'conduction' of the information coming from these different sources. There are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Around this time is the celebratory period of Carnival. However there is no hint of any celebratory moods in the tone. It is all extremely formal. It can be said that the format of this book is related to how Katharina Blum herself lives her life. The possible reason that this story is set in this police report format is that Heinrich Böll wants the reader to know the facts since all the facts come together in the end. The story uses flashbacks so the reader knows what is happening somewhere else at the same time. It could be said that the reader is finding out all this information in the same order as the police investigation. It seems that the information is scattered and, just like the police, the reader has to try and piece together the puzzle. However, this is all done for the reader in the end. This is another example of how the 'puddle' metaphor is used. The information scattered means that the channel is always changing course. The tone of this story, and even the text itself says that this is a police report, but the use of short and long chapters could possibly suggest something different. In the short chapters there are little 'bursts' of action, whilst in the longer chapters it goes into far more detail. This is like a newspaper in a way, the headlines with the 'bursts' of action, and the pages the story is continued on go into more detail, however, this reasoning is probably incorrect since the author is trying ... • 29. Green Field Essay Do you want to have a perfect green field for your baseball players? Here's some do's and dont's on how to maintain the greenest grass and a perfect field to play on. Some good tips for your field is to test your soil so you know what types of nutrients to use so the grass is healthy and green. Grading your soil is also important so water will run off instead of sitting in one spot and making a puddle which also makes preparing for a game easier. Make sure you rake and drag after every use and especially before every game to make the field safer to play on. When you are dragging, use a rake on the grass edges, home plate, and the pitcher's mound. A very important part of field maintenance is keeping your field mowed. Creating a schedule for when to mow is helpful so you don't let your grass get too short which might require you to mow multiple times a week. Lastly, pay attention to items off the field such as bathrooms, dugouts, bleachers and sidewalks so you provide a safe clean area for the crowd. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First of all, do not play on a wet field because it causes the soil to get hard when it dries. To go along with wet fields, do not overwater your field because it will loosen the roots and drown the plants. When mowing the field, do not cut the grass under ⅓ of an inch because, it weakens the plants and increases the chances of it dying. Next, do not push, pull, rake, or sweep puddles into the grass. An owner is liable if a drink "just spilled" when it is reasonably foreseeable a spill would occur in a shop that retails drinks, but an owner is not liable for spill that "just spilled" in a shop that does not sell beverages because it is not reasonably foreseeable that a spill would occur. See Owens v. Coffee Corner; see also Chad v. Bill's Camera Shop. In Chad v. • 41. Hyperbole In A Hanging Essay By examining George Orwell's short story A Hanging, one can see by analyzing the hyperbole of the dog and the prisoner dodging the puddle which illustrates how these characters signifies the importance of each individual's life. Firstly, the dog is specifically used for over exaggeration because it demonstrates innocence with its untamed spirit which makes it difficult for the warders to murder it without them feeling the guilt. When the warders and the prisoner started getting relatively close to the gallows, suddenly a 'bloody brute' known as the dog suddenly appeared in the yard and it jumped up trying to lick the prisoner's face. The narrator in the story used the dog as a powerful symbol to display that all men deserve to be equally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the superintendent angrily yells because of the interruption of the execution by stating, '' Who let that bloody brute in here?' said the superintendent angrily.' Catch it, someone!' this quote illustrates how the superintendent angrily is ordering the guards to catch the dog but the guards felt guilty to capture such an innocent creature when the author states, 'Everyone stood aghast, too taken aback even to grab at the dog.' which appears that the author purposely placed this scene to demonstrate to the reader about the importance of each individual's life. Therefore, the use of hyperbole of the dog in the story clearly illustrates that Orwell used characters such as the guards to support the concept of the dog trying to display the significance of a human being. Secondly, as the prisoner was being guided to the gallows, he stepped aside to avoid the puddle. then the narrator began to express his own feelings on the prisoner's action which states, ''It is curious, but till that moment I had never realized what it means to destroy a healthy, conscious man. To start off, it is evident in the story that the presence of an animal was not a common occurrence within the walls of the prison. As the narrator observed the prisoner due to be hanged, he saw that he was not much more than a Hindu man approaching death. When I saw the prisoner step aside to avoid the puddle, I saw the mystery, the unspeakable wrongness, of cutting a life short when it is in full tide" (Orwell 2). If it were not for the prisoner caring about such a miniscule act, the sensitization towards the prejudice murders being committed would not have occurred as strongly to the narrator. The 'unspeakable wrongness of cutting a life short when it is in full tide' developed his understanding of the wrongdoing behind the negative imperialistic environment that surrounds him. This emphasizes to the reader how a slight reaction that is often dismissed, can symbolize the deeper value of a 'healthy, conscious man' having enough dignity left to avoid such a small mishap like stepping in a ... It can be formed by dips or imperfections on the surface.' J R EGGEN Chapter 1 A puddle is a small mass of liquid, usually water, which is formed on a surface. It can be formed by dips or imperfections on the surface. Puddles are usually formed from rain water although technically it can be any liquid (e.g. oil puddles). They can be made naturally or by humans; purposely / accidently. They affect everything in its path even if it just a little bit although they can have larger effects like droning people and animals or sinking cars and vans. This can cause lots of problems as they might need their car or van for something important. A puddle is generally small enough for a person to step over or shallow enough to walk through, and too small to cross by a boat or raft although there is no exact proportion specifications to define wherever it is a puddle or not, although is it gets big enough some would say it was a lake or flood. Puddles are very common everywhere where it rains and are unlikely in dry places where there is little rainfall. In the UK it rains a lot of the time and our weather is often very cold and wet. After hours of searching for even the smallest bodies of water, Pedro eventually came across a sizeable puddle. His hard work had payed off; he was ready to return home to provide water to his partner. However, in order to continue his journey, Pedro needed several gulps of water himself. As Pedro drank blissfully, he noticed a large silhouette approaching the puddle. He could recognize this creature anywhere. It was an elephant. It didn't take George a long time to discover puddles that had not yet dried. George only needed to stand on his hind legs to see all the bodies of water around. He would then walk towards the pond, and proceed to use his long trunk to suck up the remaining water. After having used his methods on four different puddles, George casually strolled in the direction of the fifth. He was about to begin consuming the water, when he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 49. Child Movement Research Paper Movement is one of those tricky things for children, complex movement especially so. There are certain things they can do at a very young age and other things to be learnt. In their early stages as a living being they use movement as a means of communication. To tell their caretakers something, such as, "I'm hungry" , "I'm sleepy" , "I want to sit up" or "I hit myself in the face with this silly rattle". All these things they want to say and can't say. As they get older they become more conscious of their ability to learn new ways of moving. They move from tummy time to sitting up to crawling, walking and jumping to name a few in no random order. Veering into another direction they then begin to start applying this new found range of motion to daily life. Scooting across the room to get their bottle of milk, literally doing the splits while getting their diaper changed, stretching theirs arms upward to assist with a change of clothing, running down the sidewalk instead of walking, climbing up the ladder to get to the slide at the playground, moving out of the way to avoid obstacles such as stepping over rain puddles to avoid getting their feet wet. On the other hand they also do the opposite like jumping directly into water or a rain puddle just out of curiosity and end up with unexpected consequences. Whatever their instinct in terms of movement may be or their reasoning behind their movement choice it is consequential and so is dance. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 51. Personal Narrative Essay All I remember is my parents screaming for me to run and never look back, they told me no matter who knows my backstory and who's afraid of me and because of that I should keep moving forward. I was 7 when a fire started in my house, my parents died in the fire trying to save me. I barely escaped, clutching on to the last breath of life I had in my body. The doctors said I shouldn't have escaped but somehow I did, they said that I'm very special for surviving . I thought I was just lucky, but my survival came with a cost. I didn't realize that I was different from other people, I didn't know the true power I possessed. Until one fateful night. I slid under a car and ran and ran, but the darkness kept getting closer and closer, I jumped a rickety old fence and sprinted across the tan grass. No matter how fast I ran I couldn't escape it, I knew it was gonna catch me. I knew I was gonna die. I jolted up from the couch in a cold sweat. "God, I've been having that same dream for about two weeks now" I thought to myself. I looked over at the clock and it said 6:25. I groaned then flopped back down. My eyes drifted from side to side thinking about my parents. I stretched and yawned, then slowly rolled off the couch, I stood up and went to the dingy kitchen. I opened the greyish fridge and grabbed a carton of milk. "Hey," Zach whispered. • 53. Personal Narrative: Michelle Brinkman's Art I went to the library this morning to see what exactly was I going to write about and I came across Michelle Brinkman artwork. She is a local photographer in Mobile, Alabama. Her artwork will be in the Mark Library from September 1st until October 31st. Her artwork is being based off reflections. The name of her artwork is called This End Up. Her artwork has a figure–ground relationship because her pictures are dominant and her pictures are reflecting from puddles of water off the ground or on concrete. I love to view photography such as hers. Because when I was a teenager I had a passion for art. I also use to take pictures of people and old historic buildings. Even with her boat pictures, they look like they are moving around in the water but they are actually standing still. She even captured the clouds almost trying to disappear into thin air. The next photo I like is a picture of a small wooden ladder that's in the water lying next to old rusty boat. It makes me think about when I use to go fishing with my father and grandfather. My grandfather boat was rusty like the one in her picture. I like her artwork because it reminds me of my hometown. I can actually picture the boats in a line waiting to be released from the dock to get in the water. Her pictures are a really good example of country life. Her artwork title should've been name a day in the life of a country girl. It shows how beautiful the country life really is. I actually think her pictures are the best I've viewed so far. I really can't explain how much I like her layout. All of her picture complement each other including the same color scale and how the pictures are reflection off little and big puddles of water. The puddles are a significant piece off her artwork because it shows the detailed image off the objects she was trying to capture and that's why I chose to write about her ... Naturally, in the middle of a thunderstorm, you cannot avoid having puddles in your parking lot. Once the rain has stopped, however, the puddles should disappear quickly. If the puddles linger, you should take steps to resolve the underlying problem to prevent potential damage to your asphalt pavement. Possible Causes of Puddles For a puddle to form, there must be a low spot in the pavement. Low spots can be caused by a number of different issues. Heavy equipment or overweight vehicles such as buses or trucks can compress your pavement beyond its limits. • 57. Camera Lucid Reflections Of Photography "What the Photograph reproduces to infinity has occurred only once: the Photograph mechanically repeats what could never be repeated existentially," Roland Barthes stated in his book Camera Lucida: Reflections of Photography. Photography is the key to capturing a moment in time that will not reoccur again. You can try, but it will not be that exact moment you once saw before. A camera is a very powerful tool. It allows the artist to use it to display and present their message they are trying to get across to their audience and artistic view. A photograph will keep time frozen and allow us the audience to re–experience whenever we want to. The reason I mention stopping time is because in the image named Carmen photographed by Richard Avedon he did just that. This photograph is of a woman jumping over a puddle. Richard Avedon stopped time and created this fashion and street image all in one, quite beautiful may I add. Many people can try to recreate this image but never will they get the exact leap. From photographing identification cards for the merchant marines, making it all the way into the fashion world, the iconic American photographer, Richard Avedon. He was best known for his fashion photography as well as his large–scale character–revealing portraits. After he served two years in the merchant marines he then studied photography under Alexey Brodovitch who was the art director of Harper's Bazaar. Short Story Baby birds in the trees, small droplets on blades of grass, and the petals of newly born flowers on one spring day when the boys, covered in dirt muck and with marker residue on their hands stopped, which is not very common for a group of young and vibrant boys, on their way home from school, their least favorite part of every day, to drink, as they were very thirsty from their long walk of almost two miles from school to their houses, from a puddle along the little––used country road. He thought to himself that maybe it was the snake that he had swallowed, as they both had glistening black and blue scales, but he knew inside of him that there was a snake settling in his belly. He told the boys, in order to prevent them from worrying or telling their mothers, that he did not look different. As they walked home, the remaining mile to where their families were waiting for them to arrive, the boy felt the snake curling, into a comfy, tight, and little ball in his stomach and go to sleep, dreaming of the fun he had had playing with Mrs. Daisey in the puddle. When the World is Puddle–Wonderful: An Analysis of Enjambments, Allusion, and Repetition in cumming's "[in Just–]" In "[in Just–]," cummings brings the reader into a world filled with balloons, playing children, and happier times–only to then insert an allusion to Pan, a lecherous Greek god. On the surface, e.e. cummings utilizes enjambments, allusion, and repetition to urge the reader to immerse themselves within the coming of spring and their past childhood. It would appear, however, that the subtleties within the poem are what make the reader question the innocence of childhood, and cummings construction of it. With the introduction and constant repetition of the Pan–like balloon man throughout the poem, cummings urges the reader to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Cummings also highly relies on spacing to tell the story for him. In particular, within stanzas two and three, cummings puts a significant space between the line mentioning the children and the line describing the games. This space is used to place importance on the children, and then the games; with the clear distinction that they are of separate meaning, regardless of their correlation. While this may seem like a peculiar distinction, Cummings utilizes it to make the reader pause and focus solely on the children and then on the games they're running from. Overall, following the mention of childhood games with the explicit statement that it is now spring forces the reader to look closer at all of the characters at play within "[in Just–]" and call into question if the spring within cummings poem is as it appears to be. However peaceful this play ground scene is, cummings then inserts the balloonman immediately after each stanza regarding the children. For example, right after the line "it's spring," Cummings inserts, "and the goat–footed balloonMan whistles far and wee" Goat–footed is often said in reference to Pan, the Greek God of herding and music that is also associated with sex, procreation, and fertility. Finally, arriving to the Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport, we headed to terminal 6. After saving up cash for over 15 years, now in 2008, we were finally making our way to Puerto Rico. Things such as the beaches, wildlife, and The Monster Zipline are what encouraged my family and I to save up. And we did. Boarding the plane, our entire family had chills run down our spine. Of course we were scared, it was our first time. We just hoped that saving all of our extra cash for 15 years would be worth it. It better be. "Wow, look how high we are!" My sister, Fionna yelled. Fionna and I have always wondered what this experience would be like, and man was it awesome. "Yeah, it's amazing isn't it." I zoned out and as we rose and flew through the clouds. I couldn't stop, I was mesmerized. I stared until I drifted asleep. I woke up to hear the pilot say enthusiastically, "Welcome to Puerto Rico!" I couldn't believe it. So many questions popped into my head. Will people be dressed differently than at home? Will it be hot or cold outside? What time is it? I eventually put my thoughts aside, stood up, grabbed my suitcase and hustled off the plane. Just stepping into the airport, it was significantly warmer. I really wanted to see that zipline. • 75. How Does Oil Make Rainbows On Water Light works in many strange and mysterious ways. Most people recognize the basic properties of light that they see in front of them, like that light bends in water and reflects off of certain surfaces. However, few stop to consider explanations behind these phenomena. Few question light, or in fact, question any natural laws. An interesting feature of light that few truly wonder about is the beautiful reflections of colors in puddles of water with oil on them. The colors that oil creates when it lies on top of water seems like a fact of life to many people; they never question it. That said, questioning these simple facts can lead to a better understanding of the world around us, and teaches people to think critically of what surrounds them; learning about why oil makes rainbows on water can help instill thinking patterns that help people in all walks of life. Light reflecting off of oil on the surface of water functions in much the same way that light reflecting off of the front and back surfaces of glass does. When light goes reflects off of glass, depending on the thickness of the glass, a different percentage of the light reflects. This percentage can range from zero to sixteen percent. As the glass gets thicker and thicker, it becomes clear that the amount of light reflected works in a cycle. The amount of reflected light starts at zero percent and becomes greater and greater till it is at sixteen percent, and then it goes back down to zero percent. This cycle repeats ...
