Evaluation Of Targets Vrio Framework And Capabilities Of A...
VRIO Framework The VRIO framework evaluates resources and capabilities of a firm. Below is the
evaluation of Targets VRIO framework. Sustainable Competitive Advantage At this particular time
Target does not have a sustainable competitive advantage in the home décor department. Target has
not used its revenue to go towards Research and Development for the Home Décor Department.
Targets current Sustainable Competitive Advantage (SCA) would be the "Pay Less and Expect
More" aspect of the mission statement. One of the advantages that Target has is store presentation,
and the guest shopping experience. They have a strong presence in brand loyalty, high quality
products, and marketing. The home décor department in Target would not be considered a value.
Target is behind in the home décor department from its competitors. The stores that exist in the
home décor department are Lowe's, The Home Depot, TJMaxx, and Wal–Mart just to name a few.
The competitors have spent more on research and development as this has given them a competitive
advantage against Target. These stores have more space, products, and variety, as they are not
limited on materials. The competitors have an advantage and more recognition in this particular area
in the home décor retail industry. It would be highly unlikely for target to enter into this area of
retail and be successful without any economies of scale. In order for Target to capture a share of the
home decor market, they will need to expand building

Primary Care: The Concierge Model
Gail you bring up valid points in response to the article content. The increased health needs of the
upcoming baby boomers and the paradigm shift presently taking place in primary care will impose
more engagement and interaction among entities between physicians, care teams, and patients to
address these needs (Altschuler, Margolius, Bodenheimer, & Grumbach, 2012). The Concierge
model, an alternative practice identified by Altschuler et al. (2012) offers a solution to addressing
the upcoming health care needs by providing a total care option for a set amount of patients and a
yearly fee. However, the authors foreworn that this alternative method may not be conducive in
meeting the standards due to the lack of primary care clinicians accessible

Concierge Medical Care
Introduction Incentive of contemporary concierge healthcare practice is to offer consumers care that
is personalized, direct, of good quality, and affordable. "Concierge–type practices–usually involving
one or a small number of physicians–accept only a limited number of patients who pay an annual
fee in addition to the cost of care provided" (Thomas, R. K., 2015, pg. 302). In principle, when a
consumer acquires concierge services, they are paying for around the clock care. The physician or
physicians available to the consumers are technically on regular call for the patients enrolled with
their services. For the purpose of this assignment, I will be discussing marketing strategies,
contributions, and challenges in reference to concierge medical care for underserved and indigent
populations in the area.
Discuss some of the goods or services that could be highlighted in a marketing campaign that

Why Creating A Position As A Returning Student Concierge
Why creating a position as a Returning Student Concierge would be beneficial to Chattahoochee
Technical College
The goal of creating this position is to increase the return rate and persistence of returning students
at CTC by focusing on creating a clearly defined re–entry path and a one–stop–shop of resources
aimed at helping them reintegrate and succeed through the utilization of website information,
specifically targeted marketing pieces, and the development of a returning student concierge. There
was a survey that was conducted at CTC in 2011 which I have included and where students had
listed comments out of 26 comments a concierge would have been able to help with 13 of the
student comments and hopefully they would have stayed instead of withdrawing from classes
CITATION Cha11 l 1033 (College, 2011). Returning students often pause in their education due to
life obstacles. When they return to school, a majority of the time, those obstacles are still present in
their lives CITATION Fus10 l 1033 (Fusch, 2010). Taking a more hands–on approach to reintegrate
them into CTC would help students not only seamlessly re–enter the college and their educational
track, but would also help connect them to resources from their new beginning point that will help
them persist to graduation. "Returning students interested in re–enrolling often get lost in the shuffle

The purpose of planned obsolescence is to hide the real cost per use from the consumer, and charge
a higher price than they would otherwise be willing to pay, or would be unwilling to spend all at
once. For industries, planned obsolescence stimulates demand by encouraging purchasers to buy
sooner if they still want a functioning product. In business, vendor lock–in or customer lock–in,
makes a customer dependent on a vendor for products and services, unable to use another vendor
without substantial switching costs. Lock–in costs which create barriers to market entry may result
in antitrust action against a monopoly. Loyalty programs include frequent flier miles or points
systems associated with credit card offers that can be used only with the original company, creating
a perceived loss or cost when switching to a competitor. Most programs are able to get consumers to
spend more money just to get to free or bonus item. Viral marketing and viral advertising refer to
marketing techniques that use pre–existing social networks to produce increases in brand awareness.
It can be word–of–mouth delivered or enhanced by the network effects of the Internet. Monopolies
and oligopolies often use anti–competitive practices, which can have a negative impact on the
economy. This is why company mergers are often examined closely by government regulators to
avoid reducing competition in an industry. Since

Advantages Of Tablets In Business
Tablets and Business can be used for Interactive Menus, Hospitals, concierge services and social bar
games. Tablets will be replacing laptops, just like laptop replaced desk top computers. Apple Bee's
restaurant uses the interactive menu, for placing drink orders, appetizers as well as entrees.
Hospitals use tablets for a faster intake process in the emergency room. Five star hotel use concierge
services for hotel guest, so that guest can conveniently make reservation with their favorite
restaurant or, Broad way play. Social bar games on a tablet are often found at sports bars like
Buffalo Wild Wings. Games on the tablet are played, such as sports trivia, cards and basketball.
The interactive menus, also feature a credit card reader, as well as wireless technology which should

Not like with the laptops on carts or WOWs workstations on wheels or COWs computers on wheels
that is used in hospitals, associates' can now actually carry these devices around.
The disadvantages of tablets in business, hardware is prone to damage. Traditional keyboards are

How Healthcare Has Changed Since Its First Trial And Error...
Over many years, the ideas of healthcare have been heavily debated in the United States. From early
years dating back to the nineteenth century, people have been involved in some form of health
insurance. They would have this "insurance" in case of some form of accident, so that they would
not have many losses of income. According to Sultz and Young, "As early as the 19th century, some
Americans carried insurance against sickness through an employer, fraternal order, guild, trade
union, or commercial insurance company (2014)". Healthcare has greatly changed since its first trial
and error days. There have been new policies and pieces of legislation that have been passed in
efforts to try and have all Americans covered with some form of health insurance. However, the
newest form of healthcare out on the market is the idea of Concierge medicine.
Concierge medicine may also be known as Retainer medicine. It is a service that a physician would
provide private direct primary care for an out–of–pocket monthly service fee. This private and direct
form of health care would allow the patient direct and unlimited access to their doctor at the snap of
their fingers. The services that would be provided would be regular primary care visits potentially at
home, EKGs, biopsies, etc. However, the main perks of having a concierge doctor would be the
personal benefits that one would experience. Some of these benefits would include having the
doctor's personal cell phone number or email with

The Use Of Simulation As A Method Of Effectively Transfer...
This study validated the use of simulation as a method of effectively transfer learning into
competencies, building teamwork and basic organizational skills. Limitations to this study is the
small sample size, evaluation tool, and no evaluation of participants experiences of past simulation

no impact on NCLEX–RN past rates. Therefore this study could be used by educators as evidence

Critical thinking of The Grand Budapest Hotel and American Beauty
The Grand Budapest Hotel is one of the most spectacular films of the 21st century. The movie is
interesting and beautifully shot comedy directed by Wes Anderson. The Grand Budapest Hotel
consists of a prologue, five parts, and an epilogue. The film features many successful actors, but the
main story revolves around an interesting narration of Zero Moustafa (played by F Murray
Abraham, but embodied in younger years by Tony Revolori), who encounters the Author (starred by
Tom Wilkinson and Jude Law). Zero reveals the secret of how he became the owner of the Grand
Budapest's Hotel. The film draws attention to such themes as crime, love, the family revolts, prison
breaks, police action, and their possible consequences, thus transferring the audience into the world
of the characters and providing the lesson about moral values for life.
Foremost, it is important to single out the energetic character of Monsieur Gustave (played by Ralph
Fiennes), a concierge of the Grand Budapest's Hotel. Monsieur Gustave has mentored the lobby boy,
an orphan Zero. Thus, the concierge became a teacher and an advisor of a young boy with a refugee
past. Gustave saved Zero from police with the help of old acquaintance. On the other hand, the
lobby boy helps Gustave in his funny flee from prison. Zero sends him small hammers concealed
inside the cakes

Customer Friendly Interface Between Guest And The Hotel
The front office maintains a record of all guests staying in the house. This department also co–
ordinates all group movements & meal plans.
Thus we see that the primary objective of the front office is to receive the guest, give them a warm
welcome, assign them rooms keeping in mind their taste and preferences and be a customer friendly
interface between the hotel and the guest.
This extremely important department is one of the first points of contact the guest has with the hotel,
and leaves a lasting impression on the mind of the guest about the quality and service provided. It is
therefore, crucial for all Front Office personnel to be constantly aware of this fact and realize that, in
addition to their routine functions, they are also salesmen for their hotel and the other hotels in the
group.
INTERACTION BETWEEN GUEST AND THE HOTEL:
During the hotel stay, a guest may require certain services from and engage in various transactions
with the hotel. One or the other section of the hotel front office mostly handles these. Following is
the example of interaction of the guest and the hotel at different stages of his stay:
Pre–arrival

Arrival

The Hotel Room Of The Future : A Focus On Technology
The Hotel Room of the Future: A Focus on Technology
ABSTRACT
The future is going to come whether or not the hospitality industry is ready, technology is changing
every single day. Hotels are trying things out every single day, what will be faster, save more money,
what will the guests like more. Since the guest spends a majority of the time in their hotel room, the
hotels will spend time and money focusing their technology on the rooms. From the moment guests
unlock the door without using a key, to syncing their phone with a mirror, and even helping the hotel
conserve energy. Although, it is not always the technology that needs to be looked at, it is the user
that is forced to use it.
The future of the hotel room depends on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is a solution for this problem, instead of key cards keyless entry. There are already some
hotels with working keyless entries, but it is not in every hotel.
The keyless entries are ran by bluetooth technology, allowing guests to open their hotel room doors
with simply waving their phone in front of their door. A guest would have to download the hotel's
app, which will also allow guests to check in from the mobile app. They would have to put in the
confirmation number or their personal information and credit card information and bypass the front
desk. With the mobile app guests would get push notifications on their phone allowing them to
know what room they are in and if their room is ready. A room number will pop up, when
approaching the door of the hotel room there would be a set of instructions for the phone to be able
to turn on the bluetooth settings and allow for it to communicate with the door for it to open. Of
course this will not eliminate the problems with having to come back down to the front desk because
what happens if a guest phone is dead, doesn't work, or does not know how to work the bluetooth
instructions. There will always be hotel key cards for the backup, incase of any problems with the
door.

Anderson's Use Of Loyalty In The Film Anderson
Anderson's use of symmetry not only reveals changes but also consistencies. In a much later scene,
Gustave and Zero are in trouble, so Gustave calls on the Society of the Crossed Keys for help. This
society is learned to be a group of hotel concierges connected so that they may help each other. As
each member of the society is called, the same scene is shown but to include a different character.
Each member is shown at a hotel lobby desk that is placed in front of a door frame. Each concierge
is in the direct center of the frame and is in between two identical halves of the screen. Each wall is
identical, each lamp, each shelf, and even the things on the shelves are identical. This symmetry is
no accident; again Anderson hones into detail and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Anderson uses color to convey a sense of whimsy and to uplift the narrative; his color choices
influence the reading of the film and add a lightness to the seriousness of situations. In one scene,
Gustave and Zero are traveling by train as they cross a border they are stopped by Nazi soldiers.
Because Zero is an immigrant, the soldiers wish to obtain him. But Gustave rejects this and both
Gustave and Zero are attacked by the soldiers. The colors in this scene take away the intensity of
World War II and the conflicts that ensued. Near the end of the film Anderson places a similar scene
in black and white instead of color. This color change occurs when Gustave and Zero are again
stopped by Nazis. However, they do not get away this time and Gustave is killed. Although
audiences can feel the weight of this scene through the color change, the scene is heavier when
placed against the World War II film Casablanca. Anderson's use of black and white in this scene
harkens back to the black and white war time movies of the 1940s. The Grand Budapest Hotel does
not press any great emphasis on the war expect here in this scene. The emphasis is doubled when
reminded of the sadness that is Casablanca and other World War II films by change of color to black
and white. The gravity of the film is turned on when the screen shifts from color to black and

Descriptive Essay On Copenhagen
Copenhagen is arguably one of Europe's most beautiful cities. The multi–color merchant houses
along the Nyhavn port area have been an unforgettable image of the city since they were built in the
12th century. For over 250 years, well to do travelers have all used the same address, a city icon and

the city's most coveted attractions are in walking distance as is the metro which is less than a block

visit the changing or the guards at the Amalienborg Palace, a play at the Royal Danish Theatre or
take a fascinating boat ride around the city. For the fashionista, there are walking streets full of

The Grand Budapest Hotel By Wes Anderson
During the past year, a plethora of excellent films have been released around the world. One film,
not often heard of by young adults, is The Grand Budapest Hotel. Directed by Wes Anderson, this
delightful film was released "March 28, 2014, in the United States of America" (IMDB). The film,
collaboratively written by Wes Anderson, and Hugo Guinness, was inspired by the writings of
Stefan Zweig, and produced by Fox Searchlight Pictures and Indian Paintbrush. The Grand
Budapest Hotel, addresses the shallowness of life while delighting its audience with colorful setts
and costumes, diverse dialogue, and an well constructed storyline.
A nestled story, The Grand Budapest Hotel, begins with a young girl paying homage to the Author
of a novel by the same name. The film then blinks back to the 1985, where The Author begins
narrating how he came upon the intriguing story of Mr. Gustave H. The Grand Budapest's concierge
by saying "The incidents that follow, were described to me exactly as I present them here, and in a
wholly unexpected way". With that the film turns back once again to the 1920's and the mystery
begins. Audiences are swept off to an exotic land, as Mr. Gustave H. gets tangled up in the murder
of the highly regarded Madame D. What follows is a fancifully painted story of Mr. Gustave's
adventures as he attempts to find the true murderer of the Madame D. and escape trouble himself.
Typical of Wes Anderson's films, The Grand Budapest Hotel is visually appealing to its

Dewey's Identity
In this journal, I will be characterizing Klaus. I characterized him as being both intelligent and quite
knowledgeable about literature. To begin with, Klaus is quite intelligent and wise. For example,
when the Baudelaires are at the hotel they need to keep hidden, so they decide to go undercover as
concierges. Being as wise as he is, when ever Klaus would be confronted by someone he would
always respond as vaguely as possible to conceal his identity. When Frank or Ernest asked him who
he was he answered with "I'm a concierge" (Snicket 118). This shows that Klaus is a deep thinker
and he thinks before he speaks. He tried to respond as vaguely and non–suspiciously as possible. He
did this because depending on which identical–twin manager he ... Show more content on

I predict that next the Baudelaires will go to look for the sugar bowl, and while they are doing that
they will try to hide and escape the attention of Dewey's death. To begin with, one of the first things
that I predict will happen is that the Baudelaires will hide in the hotel and will try to escape the
attention of Dewey's death. In the first place, the public and visitors in the hotel went crazy after the
death of Dewey, and they are looking for the Baudelaires or any other people who might have been
involved in the death. The hotel was quite chaotic and everyone was talking about who might have
killed him. If they do not decide to hide or run away they will most likely get caught. During all of
the chaos someone shouted, "We'd better hurry downstairs, before they escape" (Snicket 242). This
shows that a mob of people have already started a search party to find the killer. From this it can be
inferred that the Baudelaires might leave the hotel or hide somewhere so they will not get caught.
The Baudelaires were apart of the death of Dewey Denouement, so the hotel guest will most likely
find them sooner or later. In addition, the Baudelaires might hide because Count Olaf has finally
found them in the hotel, and he will want to catch them. If they do not find a place to hide or
disguise sooner or later Count Olaf is bound to find them. Count Olaf is constantly trying to kidnap
the Baudelaires, and is trying to get their family fortune. Now that he knows where they are it can be
inferred that he is definitely going after them. Especially now, the Baudelaires most likely know that
Count Olaf is after them because he knows where they are, so they will most likely hide and try to
get away from him. Furthermore, the Baudelaires might decide to hide or run away because a
suspicious man came up to them and asked if they needed a taxi. This could be a quick getaway
from the hotel and the attention of the murder.

The Grand Budapest Hotel, By Wes Anderson
Wes Anderson has done it again with his new film, The Grand Budapest Hotel. True to the style of
Anderson movies, The Grand Budapest Hotel is filled with gorgeous color schemes, witty lines,
impeccable scoring, and perfectly symmetrical frames. We even get glimpses of the usual crew that
act in the Anderson franchise, including Tilda Swinton, Owen Wilson, and Bill Murray. Shot in a
1930's style movie frame, the story starts out on a snowy white scene in a small European town. A
girl walks to a memorial of a man, sits down by his statue and opens up a book. A voice–over then
begins, as well as the main story, which is composed in a flashback recounted by an author (Tom
Wilkinson). The flashback depicts the author traveling to The Grand Budapest Hotel in hopes of
curing his writer's block. There, in the slow crumbling of the hotel, he meets M. Moustafa, the
proprietor of the Grand Budapest. The rest is history, literally. The main part of the movie takes
place in a war–ravaged Zabrowka, with communists in control and the Grand Budapest Hotel
struggling to keep its usual amount of affluent customers. We are introduced to the concierge and
manager of the hotel, M. Gustave, a delightfully flawed character who is charming and lovable yet
completely irresponsible. He lectures the staff about their cleanliness and professionalism yet sleeps
with the elderly (and married) women who frequent his hotel. One dowager in particular becomes
important after she is murdered after leaving

Analysis Of Wes Anderson 's ' The Grand Budapest Hotel '
English 3.9
Texas–born director, Wes Anderson began his career in 1996, producing films with a distinctive
style and techniques that are eccentric and attentive to detail. Anderson generally directs fast– paced,
adventurous comedies, which involve serious elements or key ideas such as grief, 'children are more
adult than adults', broken relationships and family issues. Geometric concepts and framing, colour
schemes, quirky characters, and specific camera movements accompany and help to develop themes
that are developed throughout both films. Within three years, Anderson produced films 'Moonrise
Kingdom' (2012) and Oscar winning 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' (2014). Moonrise kingdom tells
the story of two youthful kids and their growing love story. Much like these characters in Moonrise
Kingdom, the idea of change and development in character(s) is seen in The Grand Budapest Hotel
where Zero begins at the hotel as a lobby boy, befriending hotel concierge, Gustave. Anderson said,
"Usually when I'm making a movie, what I have in mind first, for the visuals, is how we can stage
the scenes to bring them more to life in the most interesting way, and then how we can make a world
for the story that the audience hasn't quite seen before". Aspects and techniques help to create his
films and portray his specific style and key ideas.
The 'lobby boy interview' in The Grand Budapest Hotel and the 'loaded question' scene when Suzy
runs away in Moonrise Kingdom are two scenes that display

Although It Is Well-Equipped With Modern Hotels, Arguably
Although it is well–equipped with modern hotels, arguably the most charming accommodations in
Marrakech are to be found in its riads, such as the Riad Zayane. Riads are a traditional style of
Moroccan home, named after the courtyard garden ("ryad" in Arabic). Like many styles of urban
architecture around the world, riads orient their windows inwards and around the central courtyard,
presenting the outside world with solid walls. The result is the exclusion of the chaotic, noisy world
of the streets of Marrakech, a virtue which is as relevant to modern Marrakech as it is to the city 's
medieval past. Features The Riad Zayane is a two–story riad with a roof–top terrace, with rooms
priced for the mid–range travel budget. The courtyard is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The hotel is located off a market street outside Bab Boutouil. People who love immersing
themselves in the urban life of a developing world city will enjoy making the trip through the
crowded hustle and bustle of the vegetable sellers, halal butchers and fishmongers, but for some
visitors that transit will become tiring quickly. Furthermore, the Riad Zayane is a full 20–minute
walk from the center of the Medina at the main square and the Koutoubia Mosque. Visitors have the
choice of either making a 40–minute round trip in the heat and air pollution or haggling over a taxi
every time they set out for the day or going out for meals. However, that drawback must be kept in
perspective relative to the city. Only a few hotels are both comfortable and centrally–placed, and for
these visitors must pay a premium. Most Riads are set in locations like the Riad Zayane 's or in even
less convenient areas, while many of the modern hotels are situated outside the Medina entirely.
Ergo, anyone staying at a pleasant hotel inside the Medina will face the same locational issues.

Although procedures may differ from hotel to hotel with regard to reservations handling,
maintenance, processing, and confirmation, the purpose is still the same: to accommodate guest
requests in a manner that maximises hotel occupancy and room revenue. Computers can be
programmed to provide reservations agents with information on the types of rooms available
(including room rate, view, furnishings, amenities, and bed size) for a given day. Some computer
systems can even provide agents with the exact room number if necessary. Computers can provide
reservations agents with a great deal of information on the hotel, some of which should be provided
to the guest on request. Computers have helped transform reservations agents into true salespeople.
Reservations agents should convey the desirability, features, and benefits of staying at the hotel,
rather than simply processing an accommodation request. It is no longer satisfactory for a
reservations agent to defer to the front desk to determine a room 's rate at registration. Reservations
agents should confirm the rate over the telephone at the time the guest makes the reservation. In
fact, most guests requesting a reservation will not book a room without receiving a confirmed rate.
The agent should reinforce the guest 's decision to stay at the property and thank the guest for his or

Concierge Medicine: A Case Study
Concierge Medicine refers to the bond formed between the patients and primary care physician. The
patients are required to pay annually for the services provided. When a person is sick, they book

There exist many advantages associated with this form of practice. When marketing the medicine
practice, the following services should be stated for the patients:

The finances of the reserved practice of medicine are driven less by free–market forces. The

A Career as a Hotel Manager
General Manager Being a Hotel General Manager would be my ideal job in the Lodging Industry.
To get the that point of being a General Manager would take years of working in the hotel industry
as well as having the proper education to preform the job. My plan of action would be to start out as
a check–in agent or a front desk associate at a hotel. This would give me experience in working with
guests and with numbers, knowledge every General Manager needs. Working at the front desk
initially would give me a good idea what each department in the hotel does, and perhaps I would
move on to another job in the hotel just to gain more experience. A good General Manager needs to
know how everything in the hotel functions.
Job Description
A hotel manager is responsible for the day–to–day management of a hotel and its staff. They have
commercial accountability for budgeting and financial management, planning, organizing and
directing all hotel services, including front–of–house (reception, concierge, reservations), food and
beverage operations, and housekeeping (ACGAS, 2012).

Benefits Of The Patient Concierge
Although the main focus of the patient concierge is to provide high quality customer services to
patients, Body Synergy is also a business. Body Synergy earns money from patients and
reimbursements of insurance companies. Payments are expected to be collected at a timely manner.
Below is the policy that medical office staff should follow when handling financials.
Patient Payment Collection
Patient concierge is responsible for collecting payments (deductible, co–payments, outstanding
balance, etc.) from patients at the time of service, preferably at the beginning of each visit. There are
some patients that prefer to be billed, this is only allowed if Veronica approves. The front office
should enforce this practice to ensure all payments owed are collected in a timely manner. Staff
needs to keep constant communication with patients regarding the balance on their account in a
respectful and assertive manner. This is increasingly important if a patient has a high balance.
I. Insurance Pay Patients
Patients who are covered by insurance often have deductible/co–payments that need to be collected
at the beginning of each visit. If a patient did not make a co–payment at the beginning of visit, front
desk staff should remind the patient of payment once visit is over. If staff is unable to do so, at the
next appointment, they should inform patient of the missed co–payment and the co–payment for the
current date of service. Co–Pay balance should be kept at a fairly low amount. If a

Evaluation Of Targets Vrio Framework And Capabilities Of A...

  • 1. Evaluation Of Targets Vrio Framework And Capabilities Of A... VRIO Framework The VRIO framework evaluates resources and capabilities of a firm. Below is the evaluation of Targets VRIO framework. Sustainable Competitive Advantage At this particular time Target does not have a sustainable competitive advantage in the home décor department. Target has not used its revenue to go towards Research and Development for the Home Décor Department. Targets current Sustainable Competitive Advantage (SCA) would be the "Pay Less and Expect More" aspect of the mission statement. One of the advantages that Target has is store presentation, and the guest shopping experience. They have a strong presence in brand loyalty, high quality products, and marketing. The home décor department in Target would not be considered a value. Target is behind in the home décor department from its competitors. The stores that exist in the home décor department are Lowe's, The Home Depot, TJMaxx, and Wal–Mart just to name a few. The competitors have spent more on research and development as this has given them a competitive advantage against Target. These stores have more space, products, and variety, as they are not limited on materials. The competitors have an advantage and more recognition in this particular area in the home décor retail industry. It would be highly unlikely for target to enter into this area of retail and be successful without any economies of scale. In order for Target to capture a share of the home decor market, they will need to expand building ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Primary Care: The Concierge Model Gail you bring up valid points in response to the article content. The increased health needs of the upcoming baby boomers and the paradigm shift presently taking place in primary care will impose more engagement and interaction among entities between physicians, care teams, and patients to address these needs (Altschuler, Margolius, Bodenheimer, & Grumbach, 2012). The Concierge model, an alternative practice identified by Altschuler et al. (2012) offers a solution to addressing the upcoming health care needs by providing a total care option for a set amount of patients and a yearly fee. However, the authors foreworn that this alternative method may not be conducive in meeting the standards due to the lack of primary care clinicians accessible ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Concierge Medical Care Introduction Incentive of contemporary concierge healthcare practice is to offer consumers care that is personalized, direct, of good quality, and affordable. "Concierge–type practices–usually involving one or a small number of physicians–accept only a limited number of patients who pay an annual fee in addition to the cost of care provided" (Thomas, R. K., 2015, pg. 302). In principle, when a consumer acquires concierge services, they are paying for around the clock care. The physician or physicians available to the consumers are technically on regular call for the patients enrolled with their services. For the purpose of this assignment, I will be discussing marketing strategies, contributions, and challenges in reference to concierge medical care for underserved and indigent populations in the area. Discuss some of the goods or services that could be highlighted in a marketing campaign that involves a concierge practice of medicine. Marketing a concierge practice of medicine to an underserved and indigent population may ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some claim that "fee–based services, such as concierge care, have the potential to result in the subsidization of money–losing healthcare facilities by wealthy persons choosing to pay for the personal amenities of these services" (Linz, A. Though, a problem only associated with those whom are considered indigent can decline; which is a reduction in the number of emergency room visits and patient hospital stays because they full access to medical care. • 9. Why Creating A Position As A Returning Student Concierge Why creating a position as a Returning Student Concierge would be beneficial to Chattahoochee Technical College The goal of creating this position is to increase the return rate and persistence of returning students at CTC by focusing on creating a clearly defined re–entry path and a one–stop–shop of resources aimed at helping them reintegrate and succeed through the utilization of website information, specifically targeted marketing pieces, and the development of a returning student concierge. There was a survey that was conducted at CTC in 2011 which I have included and where students had listed comments out of 26 comments a concierge would have been able to help with 13 of the student comments and hopefully they would have stayed instead of withdrawing from classes CITATION Cha11 l 1033 (College, 2011). Returning students often pause in their education due to life obstacles. When they return to school, a majority of the time, those obstacles are still present in their lives CITATION Fus10 l 1033 (Fusch, 2010). Taking a more hands–on approach to reintegrate them into CTC would help students not only seamlessly re–enter the college and their educational track, but would also help connect them to resources from their new beginning point that will help them persist to graduation. "Returning students interested in re–enrolling often get lost in the shuffle of a process that tends to be dominated by traditional students. Too often, they are steered toward several different ... The purpose of planned obsolescence is to hide the real cost per use from the consumer, and charge a higher price than they would otherwise be willing to pay, or would be unwilling to spend all at once. For industries, planned obsolescence stimulates demand by encouraging purchasers to buy sooner if they still want a functioning product. In business, vendor lock–in or customer lock–in, makes a customer dependent on a vendor for products and services, unable to use another vendor without substantial switching costs. Lock–in costs which create barriers to market entry may result in antitrust action against a monopoly. Loyalty programs include frequent flier miles or points systems associated with credit card offers that can be used only with the original company, creating a perceived loss or cost when switching to a competitor. Most programs are able to get consumers to spend more money just to get to free or bonus item. Viral marketing and viral advertising refer to marketing techniques that use pre–existing social networks to produce increases in brand awareness. It can be word–of–mouth delivered or enhanced by the network effects of the Internet. Monopolies and oligopolies often use anti–competitive practices, which can have a negative impact on the economy. • 26. How Healthcare Has Changed Since Its First Trial And Error... Over many years, the ideas of healthcare have been heavily debated in the United States. From early years dating back to the nineteenth century, people have been involved in some form of health insurance. They would have this "insurance" in case of some form of accident, so that they would not have many losses of income. According to Sultz and Young, "As early as the 19th century, some Americans carried insurance against sickness through an employer, fraternal order, guild, trade union, or commercial insurance company (2014)". Healthcare has greatly changed since its first trial and error days. There have been new policies and pieces of legislation that have been passed in efforts to try and have all Americans covered with some form of health insurance. However, the newest form of healthcare out on the market is the idea of Concierge medicine. Concierge medicine may also be known as Retainer medicine. It is a service that a physician would provide private direct primary care for an out–of–pocket monthly service fee. This private and direct form of health care would allow the patient direct and unlimited access to their doctor at the snap of their fingers. The services that would be provided would be regular primary care visits potentially at home, EKGs, biopsies, etc. However, the main perks of having a concierge doctor would be the personal benefits that one would experience. Some of these benefits would include having the doctor's personal cell phone number or email with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This study validated the use of simulation as a method of effectively transfer learning into competencies, building teamwork and basic organizational skills. Critical Thinking Of The Grand Budapest Hotel Doug Weinriech Professor Tumminello The Art of Theatrical Cinema March 12, 2016 Critical thinking of The Grand Budapest Hotel and American Beauty The Grand Budapest Hotel is one of the most spectacular films of the 21st century. The movie is interesting and beautifully shot comedy directed by Wes Anderson. The Grand Budapest Hotel consists of a prologue, five parts, and an epilogue. The film features many successful actors, but the main story revolves around an interesting narration of Zero Moustafa (played by F Murray Abraham, but embodied in younger years by Tony Revolori), who encounters the Author (starred by Tom Wilkinson and Jude Law). Zero reveals the secret of how he became the owner of the Grand Budapest's Hotel. The film draws attention to such themes as crime, love, the family revolts, prison breaks, police action, and their possible consequences, thus transferring the audience into the world of the characters and providing the lesson about moral values for life. Foremost, it is important to single out the energetic character of Monsieur Gustave (played by Ralph Fiennes), a concierge of the Grand Budapest's Hotel. Monsieur Gustave has mentored the lobby boy, an orphan Zero. Thus, the concierge became a teacher and an advisor of a young boy with a refugee past. Gustave saved Zero from police with the help of old acquaintance. On the other hand, the lobby boy helps Gustave in his funny flee from prison. This department also co– ordinates all group movements & meal plans. Thus we see that the primary objective of the front office is to receive the guest, give them a warm welcome, assign them rooms keeping in mind their taste and preferences and be a customer friendly interface between the hotel and the guest. This extremely important department is one of the first points of contact the guest has with the hotel, and leaves a lasting impression on the mind of the guest about the quality and service provided. It is therefore, crucial for all Front Office personnel to be constantly aware of this fact and realize that, in addition to their routine functions, they are also salesmen for their hotel and the other hotels in the group. The Hotel Room Of The Future : A Focus On Technology The Hotel Room of the Future: A Focus on Technology ABSTRACT The future is going to come whether or not the hospitality industry is ready, technology is changing every single day. Hotels are trying things out every single day, what will be faster, save more money, what will the guests like more. Since the guest spends a majority of the time in their hotel room, the hotels will spend time and money focusing their technology on the rooms. From the moment guests unlock the door without using a key, to syncing their phone with a mirror, and even helping the hotel conserve energy. Although, it is not always the technology that needs to be looked at, it is the user that is forced to use it. The future of the hotel room depends on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is a solution for this problem, instead of key cards keyless entry. There are already some hotels with working keyless entries, but it is not in every hotel. The keyless entries are ran by bluetooth technology, allowing guests to open their hotel room doors with simply waving their phone in front of their door. A guest would have to download the hotel's app, which will also allow guests to check in from the mobile app. They would have to put in the confirmation number or their personal information and credit card information and bypass the front desk. With the mobile app guests would get push notifications on their phone allowing them to know what room they are in and if their room is ready. A room number will pop up, when approaching the door of the hotel room there would be a set of instructions for the phone to be able to turn on the bluetooth settings and allow for it to communicate with the door for it to open. Of course this will not eliminate the problems with having to come back down to the front desk because what happens if a guest phone is dead, doesn't work, or does not know how to work the bluetooth instructions. There will always be hotel key cards for the backup, incase of any problems with the door. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 40. Anderson's Use Of Loyalty In The Film Anderson Anderson's use of symmetry not only reveals changes but also consistencies. In a much later scene, Gustave and Zero are in trouble, so Gustave calls on the Society of the Crossed Keys for help. This society is learned to be a group of hotel concierges connected so that they may help each other. As each member of the society is called, the same scene is shown but to include a different character. Each member is shown at a hotel lobby desk that is placed in front of a door frame. Each concierge is in the direct center of the frame and is in between two identical halves of the screen. Each wall is identical, each lamp, each shelf, and even the things on the shelves are identical. This symmetry is no accident; again Anderson hones into detail and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Anderson uses color to convey a sense of whimsy and to uplift the narrative; his color choices influence the reading of the film and add a lightness to the seriousness of situations. In one scene, Gustave and Zero are traveling by train as they cross a border they are stopped by Nazi soldiers. Because Zero is an immigrant, the soldiers wish to obtain him. But Gustave rejects this and both Gustave and Zero are attacked by the soldiers. The colors in this scene take away the intensity of World War II and the conflicts that ensued. Near the end of the film Anderson places a similar scene in black and white instead of color. This color change occurs when Gustave and Zero are again stopped by Nazis. However, they do not get away this time and Gustave is killed. Although audiences can feel the weight of this scene through the color change, the scene is heavier when placed against the World War II film Casablanca. Anderson's use of black and white in this scene harkens back to the black and white war time movies of the 1940s. The Grand Budapest Hotel does not press any great emphasis on the war expect here in this scene. The emphasis is doubled when reminded of the sadness that is Casablanca and other World War II films by change of color to black and white. • 54. The Grand Budapest Hotel By Wes Anderson During the past year, a plethora of excellent films have been released around the world. One film, not often heard of by young adults, is The Grand Budapest Hotel. Directed by Wes Anderson, this delightful film was released "March 28, 2014, in the United States of America" (IMDB). The film, collaboratively written by Wes Anderson, and Hugo Guinness, was inspired by the writings of Stefan Zweig, and produced by Fox Searchlight Pictures and Indian Paintbrush. The Grand Budapest Hotel, addresses the shallowness of life while delighting its audience with colorful setts and costumes, diverse dialogue, and an well constructed storyline. A nestled story, The Grand Budapest Hotel, begins with a young girl paying homage to the Author of a novel by the same name. The film then blinks back to the 1985, where The Author begins narrating how he came upon the intriguing story of Mr. Gustave H. The Grand Budapest's concierge by saying "The incidents that follow, were described to me exactly as I present them here, and in a wholly unexpected way". With that the film turns back once again to the 1920's and the mystery begins. Audiences are swept off to an exotic land, as Mr. Gustave H. gets tangled up in the murder of the highly regarded Madame D. What follows is a fancifully painted story of Mr. Gustave's adventures as he attempts to find the true murderer of the Madame D. and escape trouble himself. • 56. Dewey's Identity In this journal, I will be characterizing Klaus. I characterized him as being both intelligent and quite knowledgeable about literature. To begin with, Klaus is quite intelligent and wise. For example, when the Baudelaires are at the hotel they need to keep hidden, so they decide to go undercover as concierges. Being as wise as he is, when ever Klaus would be confronted by someone he would always respond as vaguely as possible to conceal his identity. When Frank or Ernest asked him who he was he answered with "I'm a concierge" (Snicket 118). This shows that Klaus is a deep thinker and he thinks before he speaks. He tried to respond as vaguely and non–suspiciously as possible. He did this because depending on which identical–twin manager he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I predict that next the Baudelaires will go to look for the sugar bowl, and while they are doing that they will try to hide and escape the attention of Dewey's death. To begin with, one of the first things that I predict will happen is that the Baudelaires will hide in the hotel and will try to escape the attention of Dewey's death. In the first place, the public and visitors in the hotel went crazy after the death of Dewey, and they are looking for the Baudelaires or any other people who might have been involved in the death. The hotel was quite chaotic and everyone was talking about who might have killed him. If they do not decide to hide or run away they will most likely get caught. During all of the chaos someone shouted, "We'd better hurry downstairs, before they escape" (Snicket 242). This shows that a mob of people have already started a search party to find the killer. From this it can be inferred that the Baudelaires might leave the hotel or hide somewhere so they will not get caught. The Baudelaires were apart of the death of Dewey Denouement, so the hotel guest will most likely find them sooner or later. In addition, the Baudelaires might hide because Count Olaf has finally found them in the hotel, and he will want to catch them. If they do not find a place to hide or disguise sooner or later Count Olaf is bound to find them. Count Olaf is constantly trying to kidnap the Baudelaires, and is trying to get their family fortune. Now that he knows where they are it can be inferred that he is definitely going after them. Especially now, the Baudelaires most likely know that Count Olaf is after them because he knows where they are, so they will most likely hide and try to get away from him. Furthermore, the Baudelaires might decide to hide or run away because a suspicious man came up to them and asked if they needed a taxi. This could be a quick getaway from the hotel and the attention of the murder. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 58. The Grand Budapest Hotel, By Wes Anderson Wes Anderson has done it again with his new film, The Grand Budapest Hotel. True to the style of Anderson movies, The Grand Budapest Hotel is filled with gorgeous color schemes, witty lines, impeccable scoring, and perfectly symmetrical frames. We even get glimpses of the usual crew that act in the Anderson franchise, including Tilda Swinton, Owen Wilson, and Bill Murray. Shot in a 1930's style movie frame, the story starts out on a snowy white scene in a small European town. A girl walks to a memorial of a man, sits down by his statue and opens up a book. A voice–over then begins, as well as the main story, which is composed in a flashback recounted by an author (Tom Wilkinson). The flashback depicts the author traveling to The Grand Budapest Hotel in hopes of curing his writer's block. There, in the slow crumbling of the hotel, he meets M. Moustafa, the proprietor of the Grand Budapest. The rest is history, literally. The main part of the movie takes place in a war–ravaged Zabrowka, with communists in control and the Grand Budapest Hotel struggling to keep its usual amount of affluent customers. We are introduced to the concierge and manager of the hotel, M. Gustave, a delightfully flawed character who is charming and lovable yet completely irresponsible. He lectures the staff about their cleanliness and professionalism yet sleeps with the elderly (and married) women who frequent his hotel. One dowager in particular becomes important after she is murdered after leaving ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 62. Analysis Of Wes Anderson 's ' The Grand Budapest Hotel ' English 3.9 Texas–born director, Wes Anderson began his career in 1996, producing films with a distinctive style and techniques that are eccentric and attentive to detail. Anderson generally directs fast– paced, adventurous comedies, which involve serious elements or key ideas such as grief, 'children are more adult than adults', broken relationships and family issues. Geometric concepts and framing, colour schemes, quirky characters, and specific camera movements accompany and help to develop themes that are developed throughout both films. Within three years, Anderson produced films 'Moonrise Kingdom' (2012) and Oscar winning 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' (2014). Moonrise kingdom tells the story of two youthful kids and their growing love story. Much like these characters in Moonrise Kingdom, the idea of change and development in character(s) is seen in The Grand Budapest Hotel where Zero begins at the hotel as a lobby boy, befriending hotel concierge, Gustave. Anderson said, "Usually when I'm making a movie, what I have in mind first, for the visuals, is how we can stage the scenes to bring them more to life in the most interesting way, and then how we can make a world for the story that the audience hasn't quite seen before". Aspects and techniques help to create his films and portray his specific style and key ideas. The 'lobby boy interview' in The Grand Budapest Hotel and the 'loaded question' scene when Suzy runs away in Moonrise Kingdom are two scenes that display ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 64. Although It Is Well-Equipped With Modern Hotels, Arguably Although it is well–equipped with modern hotels, arguably the most charming accommodations in Marrakech are to be found in its riads, such as the Riad Zayane. Riads are a traditional style of Moroccan home, named after the courtyard garden ("ryad" in Arabic). Like many styles of urban architecture around the world, riads orient their windows inwards and around the central courtyard, presenting the outside world with solid walls. The result is the exclusion of the chaotic, noisy world of the streets of Marrakech, a virtue which is as relevant to modern Marrakech as it is to the city 's medieval past. Features The Riad Zayane is a two–story riad with a roof–top terrace, with rooms priced for the mid–range travel budget. The courtyard is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The hotel is located off a market street outside Bab Boutouil. People who love immersing themselves in the urban life of a developing world city will enjoy making the trip through the crowded hustle and bustle of the vegetable sellers, halal butchers and fishmongers, but for some visitors that transit will become tiring quickly. Furthermore, the Riad Zayane is a full 20–minute walk from the center of the Medina at the main square and the Koutoubia Mosque. Visitors have the choice of either making a 40–minute round trip in the heat and air pollution or haggling over a taxi every time they set out for the day or going out for meals. However, that drawback must be kept in perspective relative to the city. Only a few hotels are both comfortable and centrally–placed, and for these visitors must pay a premium. Most Riads are set in locations like the Riad Zayane 's or in even less convenient areas, while many of the modern hotels are situated outside the Medina entirely. Ergo, anyone staying at a pleasant hotel inside the Medina will face the same locational issues. Its purpose forms the basis for the organisation's mission. An organisation's mission can be expressed in a mission statement. A mission statement defines the unique purpose that sets one hotel or hotel company apart from others. It expresses the underlying philosophy that gives meaning and direction to hotel policies. Hotel employees may derive a sense of purpose from a well–conceived mission statement. For example, a hotel 's mission may be to provide the finest facilities and services in the market while providing a good place to work for its employees and a reasonable return on investment to the owners. Although procedures may differ from hotel to hotel with regard to reservations handling, maintenance, processing, and confirmation, the purpose is still the same: to accommodate guest requests in a manner that maximises hotel occupancy and room revenue. Computers can be programmed to provide reservations agents with information on the types of rooms available (including room rate, view, furnishings, amenities, and bed size) for a given day. Some computer systems can even provide agents with the exact room number if necessary. Computers can provide reservations agents with a great deal of information on the hotel, some of which should be provided to the guest on request. Computers have helped transform reservations agents into true salespeople. Reservations agents should convey the desirability, features, and benefits of staying at the hotel, rather than simply processing an accommodation request. It is no longer satisfactory for a reservations agent to defer to the front desk to determine a room 's rate at registration. Reservations agents should confirm the rate over the telephone at the time the guest makes the reservation. In fact, most guests requesting a reservation will not book a room without receiving a confirmed rate. The agent should reinforce the guest 's decision to stay at the property and thank the guest for his or her business. It is essential for reservations ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The patients are required to pay annually for the services provided. When a person is sick, they book appointments with their doctors via emails or phone calls. With this medicine practice which is also identified as direct practice, the association between the doctor and the patient is boosted. There exist many advantages associated with this form of practice. When marketing the medicine practice, the following services should be stated for the patients: Unsurpassed doctor–patient affiliation Trust between the patients and their doctors' remains a major issue since some patients tend to hide some fact about themselves from their doctors. • 74. A Career as a Hotel Manager General Manager Being a Hotel General Manager would be my ideal job in the Lodging Industry. To get the that point of being a General Manager would take years of working in the hotel industry as well as having the proper education to preform the job. My plan of action would be to start out as a check–in agent or a front desk associate at a hotel. This would give me experience in working with guests and with numbers, knowledge every General Manager needs. Working at the front desk initially would give me a good idea what each department in the hotel does, and perhaps I would move on to another job in the hotel just to gain more experience. A good General Manager needs to know how everything in the hotel functions. Job Description A hotel manager is responsible for the day–to–day management of a hotel and its staff. They have commercial accountability for budgeting and financial management, planning, organizing and directing all hotel services, including front–of–house (reception, concierge, reservations), food and beverage operations, and housekeeping (ACGAS, 2012). Typical Work Day Work activities can vary on the size and accommodations available at the hotel. In bigger hotels there will be many departments, all with a department manager. In the mornings most General Managers and department managers will have a meeting so everyone is on the same page for the day. This can include as many of the departments as the General Manager sees fit. In small hotels the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 76. Benefits Of The Patient Concierge Although the main focus of the patient concierge is to provide high quality customer services to patients, Body Synergy is also a business. Body Synergy earns money from patients and reimbursements of insurance companies. Payments are expected to be collected at a timely manner. Below is the policy that medical office staff should follow when handling financials. Patient Payment Collection Patient concierge is responsible for collecting payments (deductible, co–payments, outstanding balance, etc.) from patients at the time of service, preferably at the beginning of each visit. There are some patients that prefer to be billed, this is only allowed if Veronica approves. The front office should enforce this practice to ensure all payments owed are collected in a timely manner. Staff needs to keep constant communication with patients regarding the balance on their account in a respectful and assertive manner. This is increasingly important if a patient has a high balance. I. Insurance Pay Patients Patients who are covered by insurance often have deductible/co–payments that need to be collected at the beginning of each visit. If a patient did not make a co–payment at the beginning of visit, front desk staff should remind the patient of payment once visit is over. If staff is unable to do so, at the next appointment, they should inform patient of the missed co–payment and the co–payment for the current date of service. Co–Pay balance should be kept at a fairly low amount. If a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
