Question 1
1.
2. FILM TITLE
• The film is called ‘The Bride’ because is about a woman who is
getting secretly abused by her soon husband-to-be so we
decided on the name mainly because its about a bride on her
wedding day.
3. SETTING/LOCATION
• Our film was set in chloe’s bedroom because it
was the perfect location as the bride is getting
ready in her bedroom.
• Also it is in a family home so the audience
wouldn’t suspect that abuse is going on.
4. COSTUME AND PROPS
• At the begging the bride and bridesmaid are both wearing
dressing gowns because they are getting ready but then
the bride gets changed into the Wedding dress.
• The groom is wearing a suit the whole way through it
because obviously he’s the groom so he has to wear a
suit.
• We haven’t used many props as it is set in a normal
bedroom.
5. CAMERAWORK AND EDITING
• We have edited some shots to be darker than others to create an eerie
atmosphere when Edward enters.
• We have used many different camera shots to show their emotions and
to show the domenance of certain characters.
• We have used Windows movie maker to edit our film.
6. TITLE FONT AND STYLE
• We chose Script MT Bold as the font because it is quite a fancy
style and is formal.
• It looks like a font you would use at a wedding and is quite
feminine.
This is the font we used.
7. STORY AND HOW THE OPENING SETS IT
UP
• The story is quite powerful and a few people would possibly be
able to relate to the story because many families have or are
getting affected my domestic violence.
• Few of the scenes in the film you can see a bruises on the bride
and you can see how controlling the groom is.
• It is set in a family home which shows they are a couple and
that they don’t want anyone to find out about what secret abuse
is going on.
8. GENRE AND HOW THE OPENING
SUGGESTS IT
• The music we chose to go in our film was quite dramatic itself
especially in the first few shots because its building up to the
dialog shots.
• The close ups of the bride and the bridesmaid and the dialog
shows there facial expressions and also conveys the weirdness
of it all.
• Also the groom being so controlling and masculine could show
that it could be a drama because the audience can feel the eerie
tension.
9. HOW CHARACTERS ARE INTRODUCED
• Each character is introduced one by one, Alissa (bridesmaid) is
introduced as a bubbly excitable friend, Katie (bride) was introduced as
a slyly depressed woman who just wanted help but couldn’t ask for it
and Edward (groom) was introduced as a very masculine, controlling
and miserable man.
10. SPECIAL EFFECT
• We haven’t used many special effects as the software we have used
was very limited. We have tried our hardest to add some in such as
slowing the first few shots down (going around the house) and we also
faded in the first shots.
• We had also played with the lighting and made it darker because it
would not have gone with the story line if it was bright and colourful.
