Survey for 2015-16' prepared by the
labour bureau of the Union ministry
of labour and employment indicates
thatTripura had the highest
unemployment rate of 19.7% in India,
followed by Sikkim (18.1%) and
Kerala (12.5%)
4. In respect of female empowerment, some
negative factors such as
higher suicide rate,
lower share of earned income,
child marriage,[295]
complaints of sexual harassment and
limited freedom are reported.

38 lakhs.
20% of graduates are unemployed.
The NSSO survey results suggest that the
rate of unemployment is very high among
young people belonging to the age group 15-
29 years. Nearly 32.3% of young males and
45.8 of young females are unemployed in
Kerala.
