skills are necessary to lead a
team? Please, tell us three vital
skills in descending order?
Answer:
Manager should be a good listener. As a manager I have
learned a lot and increase my knowledge while listening to
others.
After than manager should be a good problem solver. If
there were any problem between my subordinates, I first
gather all the information and see the whole scenario
through their paradigm before taking any decision.
Manager should be a proactive person. In my work I am
more active and less reactive, and in that way I manage my
work very nicely.
For Examples: in our profession listening is very importing
because patient is our customer we can’t treat them until
listening them properly so in my opinion listening skill is very
important.
As a manager how do you plan,
organize, lead and control the activities
of your team?
Answer:
No such planning concerned to our work it’s our daily
routine work so we are use to it. Our work is very
Organized, our data base have a record of every single
entry. But in some cases when any visit arrives we do
planning to check if everything is up to mark and
working properly, in that planning we divide work in
parts and each person has to done their part in given
time period. For Example:
Planning : When patient called us we gave him
appointment time, while giving appointment time we
are planning 1 date / day for only just appointments.
Leading : well in leading you can take our doctors
example while doing a operation they are leading to
their teams.
Controlling : while for controlling we monitor patient
condition before and after treatment, even we do
operations in controlled environment.
What are the biggest
challenges which managers
are facing now a day in your
organization?
Answer:
Now a day’s world is moving very fast, so you have to
be faster than the flow, you have to be up to date.
For Example : the new technology or medicine is introduced
and we don’t know that thing this can become worst for us
that’s why our biggest challenge is to keep aware and up-to-
date.
Is there any impact of globalization on
your organization. If yes, how
globalization is affecting your
organization?
Answer:
As Aga Khan University is a part of Aga Khan
Development Network, and Aga Khan is spreading
globally and providing their services without regard
to cast or racism so any thing which has developed /

knowledge of Agha khan so there in no as much
global effect.

Answer:
Manager should train their coworker work without
any biasness, maintain good working environment
and satisfy their customers.

this activity (CSR).?
Answer:
As I have told you that the Aga Khan University is a part of
Aga Khan Development Network, The Aga Khan
Development Network (AKDN) is a group of development
agencies with mandates that include the environment,
health, education, architecture, culture, microfinance, rural
development, disaster reduction, the promotion of private-
sector enterprise and the revitalization of historic cities.
AKDN agencies conduct their programmes without regard
to faith, origin or gender. Full description you can find on

How the organizational
culture is derived in your
organization. Please, give us

Answer:
Organizational culture is a determinant for quality
improvement, It is likely that, by adopting a
participatory and open culture, staff views about
organizational leadership will improve and employee
satisfaction will be enhanced. This finding has
implications for quality care implementation in other
hospital settings.
How the goals are defined in
the organization. Do you
follow MBO approach while
setting the goals of your
subordinate(s) or team?
Answer:
We have a Monitory system through which we
monitor the activities of our subordinates and assign
them different targets and goals.
Through this system we check number of patients,
number of complains, number of pending complains
and other many things.
As a manager how do you
perform Environmental
scanning? What steps do you
consider in this process?
Answer:
Scanning helps to understand the context of your
preferred future – where you want to go.

manager of its own and we have to take decisions in

time to wait for approval every individual can take
necessary decision at your own our workers have
good decision making abilities.

than salary?
Answer:
Basically this might be the same other organization
we give bonuses and incentives to motivate
employees, we select those people who wish to
work and serve the humanity and have enthusiasm to
do social work.

difference between a leader
and a manager?
Answer:
Manager who manages, and the Leader who have a
goal in mind, and shows the direction to his team
through which they can achieve their goal.

The Department Head has to tell the HR to fill the
vacant position. Interview session conducted with the
candidates having Department Head with HR person,
one more thing that we do is we hired or promoted
people who is already working in Agha khan you may
say internal hiring.

We use Aga Khan University official website and news

  • 4. In your opinion what Human skills are necessary to lead a team? Please, tell us three vital skills in descending order? Answer: Manager should be a good listener. As a manager I have learned a lot and increase my knowledge while listening to others. After than manager should be a good problem solver. If there were any problem between my subordinates, I first gather all the information and see the whole scenario through their paradigm before taking any decision. Manager should be a proactive person. In my work I am more active and less reactive, and in that way I manage my work very nicely. For Examples: in our profession listening is very importing because patient is our customer we can’t treat them until listening them properly so in my opinion listening skill is very important.
  • 5. As a manager how do you plan, organize, lead and control the activities of your team? Answer: No such planning concerned to our work it’s our daily routine work so we are use to it. Our work is very Organized, our data base have a record of every single entry. But in some cases when any visit arrives we do planning to check if everything is up to mark and working properly, in that planning we divide work in parts and each person has to done their part in given time period. For Example: Planning : When patient called us we gave him appointment time, while giving appointment time we are planning 1 date / day for only just appointments. Leading : well in leading you can take our doctors example while doing a operation they are leading to their teams. Controlling : while for controlling we monitor patient condition before and after treatment, even we do operations in controlled environment.
  • 6. What are the biggest challenges which managers are facing now a day in your organization? Answer: Now a day’s world is moving very fast, so you have to be faster than the flow, you have to be up to date. For Example : the new technology or medicine is introduced and we don’t know that thing this can become worst for us that’s why our biggest challenge is to keep aware and up-to- date.
  • 7. Is there any impact of globalization on your organization. If yes, how globalization is affecting your organization? Answer: As Aga Khan University is a part of Aga Khan Development Network, and Aga Khan is spreading globally and providing their services without regard to cast or racism so any thing which has developed / Introduced in any part of the world it is in the knowledge of Agha khan so there in no as much global effect.
  • 8. Do you have defined managerial ethics guideline for the entire organization? Can you please, share the document? Answer: Manager should train their coworker work without any biasness, maintain good working environment and satisfy their customers. No documents to share.
  • 9. In terms of Corporate Social Responsibility. What role your organization is playing. In your opinion is it necessary to have this activity (CSR).? Answer: As I have told you that the Aga Khan University is a part of Aga Khan Development Network, The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) is a group of development agencies with mandates that include the environment, health, education, architecture, culture, microfinance, rural development, disaster reduction, the promotion of private- sector enterprise and the revitalization of historic cities.   • 10. How the organizational culture is derived in your organization. Please, give us examples of it. (Related to your organization) Answer: Organizational culture is a determinant for quality improvement, It is likely that, by adopting a participatory and open culture, staff views about organizational leadership will improve and employee satisfaction will be enhanced. This finding has implications for quality care implementation in other hospital settings.
  • 11. How the goals are defined in the organization. Do you follow MBO approach while setting the goals of your subordinate(s) or team? Answer: We have a Monitory system through which we monitor the activities of our subordinates and assign them different targets and goals. Through this system we check number of patients, number of complains, number of pending complains and other many things.
  • 12. As a manager how do you perform Environmental scanning? What steps do you consider in this process? Answer: Scanning helps to understand the context of your preferred future – where you want to go. PEST Analysis used for Environmental Scanning which includes following steps: SCOPING RESEARCH IDENTIFYING KEY TRENDS IMPLICATIONS
  • 13. To visualize the activities of your team or department. What sort of charts do you follow? Can you please, share the document(s) of it? Answer: As I have told you we have a system through which we monitor our team and assign them different tasks. It’s not a chart it’s a Software base system, I don’t know how I could share it with you.
  • 14. What is the organizational structure of your organization? How the span of control is defined in the organization? Answer: Aga Khan is a part of Aga Khan Development Network

  • 17. Is your organization centralized or decentralized. Please, give us examples of it? Answer: Yes off course it is decentralized. Every worker in a manager of its own and we have to take decisions in different situations , For Instance : At the time of emergency there is no time to wait for approval every individual can take necessary decision at your own our workers have good decision making abilities.
  • 18. How your organization motivates employees other than salary? Answer: Basically this might be the same other organization we give bonuses and incentives to motivate employees, we select those people who wish to work and serve the humanity and have enthusiasm to do social work.
  • 19. In your opinion what is the difference between a leader and a manager? Answer: Manager who manages, and the Leader who have a goal in mind, and shows the direction to his team through which they can achieve their goal.
  • 20. Please, explain recruitment and selection procedure of your prestigious organization. (If possible please, provide flow chart)? Answer: The Department Head has to tell the HR to fill the vacant position. Interview session conducted with the candidates having Department Head with HR person, one more thing that we do is we hired or promoted people who is already working in Agha khan you may say internal hiring.
  • 21. What type of Recruitment Sources do you use while recruiting manpower for your organization? Answer: We use Aga Khan University official website and news paper for available vacancies.. Advertisement is Available on next slide
  • 23. What type of selection (interviews) and testing your organization follows while finalizing a potential candidate? Please, provide the brief description of test(s) and interviews? Answer: Depending on position of the required employee. We want to see good decision making skills and enthusiasm to serve the humanity in our candidate. Selection process will be in next slide

Answer: Training and Development section contributing in our organization to train the employees which will be the Team Leaders of their team in future, and than they will share their knowledge with their subordinates.
