• Coherent—information presented in a logical
sequence.
3. What is coherence in communication skills?
The term coherence refers to the smooth flow of
ideas in a text. There are two main strategies that
will make your writing coherent: organizing your
ideas in a logical order, and connecting them
effectively by using transition words and phrases.

correct, complete, concise, and compassionate. We
consider these to be the 5 C's of communication,
though they may vary depending on who you're
asking.

7. What is hesitation in linguistics?
A hesitation marker is a linguistic form that appears
in environments in which speakers have difficulties
in retrieving lexical information during speech
production. Wiese (1984), for example, mentions
filled pauses (e.g., uh, mhm), repetitions, corrections
and drawls.
