its overall development and progress. He said the students and staff would
immensely benefit by the email service and this effort of JNTUK has brought it close
to some of the world class universities. He lauded the initiatives taken by Prof. Allam

He reiterated the support of Government of Andhra Pradesh for higher education
institutes and recommended that all the universities in Andhra Pradesh should
emulate the new model adopted by JNTU Kakinada. He lauded the efforts of

Mr. Sridhar Babu, Hon’ble Minister for Higher Education, Government of Andhra
Pradesh, stated JNTU Kakinada has embarked on an innovation journey and the
launch of University Information System and Email service is a unique feather in the
cap of JNTU Kakinada and lauded the efforts of the Vice Chancellor. He stated that
the alliance between JNTU Kakinada and Bharathstudent.com is a good model of
Public Private Partnership. He urged the other universities in Andhra Pradesh to
follow the example set by JNTU Kakinada. He mentioned that the support of his
ministry would be extended to such novel ideas and implementation of those ideas.
Mr. Mopidevi Venkata Ramana, Hon’ble Minister for Technical Education,
Government of Andhra Pradesh appreciated the efforts of JNTU Kakinada and
Bharathstudent.com.
Prof Allam Appa Rao stated that JNTUK is a university with a difference, midst of
an adventure of innovative ideas. “As the founder Vice Chancellor of JNTUK, my aim
and commitment is to create a brand JNTUK that fits all the requirements of a
modern and highly reputed Indian university. I have initiated this process and have
taken the first 1000 steps in transforming the JNTUK into a world class technological
university.” He mentioned that our technology partner Social Media India Ltd has
enabled us to make our dream come true. They have pioneered the effort of creating
JNTUK University Information System and email service with a new corporate look,
strong identity and academic professionalism.
Mr. Lakshminarayana, Executive Director, Social Media India Ltd, assured that the
company would go all out to replicate the JNTU Kakinada model to all the higher
education institutes in Andhra Pradesh in a customized manner, with the support of
the Government and the academia.
He mentioned that University Information System is integrated it with fully
functional ICT services with various functionalities, at par with international
standards. This new system would be an introdu
cing platform for both the students and JNTUK internationally and also to all the
international universities, industries and various other stake holders.
2. Taking advantage of the geographical position of the university and the prospects of
its students aspiring for international studies and career, a Unique Email Service
of JNTUK is provided to around 2,00,000 students and JNTUK staff from the eight
coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh. This service would cater to the entire academic
and career related communication needs of students and thereby fostering unique
identity for the students, staff and the university.
These services would send very strong signals to the higher education community in
Andhra Pradesh for setting international standards in the education sector and also
the commitment of Government of Andhra Pradesh to higher education.
