BackgroundThe APSCHE is the first body of its kind in the country, set up as per the recommendations of NationalEducation Policy (NEP), 1986. It primarily serves as a coordination and liaison body between theUniversity Grants Commission, the State Government and the State Universities. It is one of the importantfunctions of the Council to coordinate and determine standards in institutions of Higher Education orResearch and Scientific and Technical Institutions in accordance with the guidelines issued by theUniversity Grants Commission from time to time, apart from its academic and advisory functions. In orderto encourage the Colleges of Education, Teacher Educators, student teachers and to understand theimpact the learning which has been created in ICT in Teacher education, a contest has been organizedjointly by Intel and APSCHE named as Best Integration of technology into the curriculum .
Overview of the “Technology in Education” Contest 2010-11APSCHE with support from Intel, awards the winners of the „2nd Technology in Education” awards for theeffective integration of technology in teaching and learning processes in Andhra Pradesh. Three Collegesof Education, 5 Teacher Educators, 10 Student Teachers are honored for their use of technology ineducation and the integration of innovative teaching methods to promote 21st century skills and enhancestudent learning.A total of More than 1000 entries were received for the competition from Colleges of Education acrossAndhra Pradesh. After the final evaluation, which was jointly conducted by APSCHE and the Intel® TeachProgram, winners were awarded cash prizes along with a joint citation from the Intel® Teach Program &APSCHE.The „Technology in Education‟ award is held every year in collaboration with APSCHE to felicitate awardwinning colleges of education, teacher educators and student teachers across Andhra Pradesh.3. Teacher should become the facilitator and

He gave details about policy, curriculum & assessment, professional development, ICT, Research and evaluation as part of educational transformation model. Hestressed on Intel education programs in Andhra Pradesh special focus on Teacher Education. Earlier it used to confine to the black board and chalk piece, now technology empower the teachers to make them change their teaching learning process. Technology helps to make the learning memorable. I appreciate the efforts taken by Intel – APSCHE towards improving teacher education.

Teachers need to be more responsible. Teachers should use resources wisely to get better reults in the classroom which will lead to success. He congratulated the winners. He highlighted that its great to know that Intel like corporate is collaborating with APSCHE to make a difference in teacher education.
