1. Background

        The "APSCHE-Intel Best Integration of Technology in Education" event organized by Intel with support from
        APSCHE for felicitating Colleges of Education, Teacher Educators, and Student Teachers who have done
        exemplary work in innovative use of technology in their respective filed of work.


        This is the first "Best Integration of Technology in Education" contest is held in association with APSCHE. All
        the 8 Universities of AP are covered in this contest to integrate innovative teaching methods to promote 21st
        century skills and enhance student learning.


        The APSCHE and Intel Joint Contest acknowledge the best Practices of Technology Integration in
        Education and felicitate the 3 Best Colleges of Education, 3 Best Teacher Educators and 3 Best Student
        Teachers who have successfully brought about a remarkable change in the Teaching - learning Process.
The contest was launched on 4th February 2009 at a exclusive Deans, Dept of Education of all
   8 Universities of AP. The Contest details were uploaded on the APSCHE website for registration and
   detailed entry submission. All the universities uploaded the details of the contest on their respective
   university websites and conducted exclusive principal sessions to promote participation in the contest. More
   than 700 registrations and more than 350 detailed entries were received for the contest across 8
   universities. Intel with support from APSCHE evaluated the detailed entries and short listed the entries. The
   short listed principals, teacher educators and student teachers were interviewed telephonically
   to finalize the winners. Post telephonic interview, 3 outstanding Colleges of Education, 3 Teacher educators
   and 3 Student teachers were selected as winners for Best Integration of Technology in Education
   contest.
   The awards are spread across 4 Universities across the state. The awards included a cash prize of Rs. 6000
   each for college of education, Rs 4000 each for teacher educators and Rs. 2000 for each student
   teacher along with a joint citation from Intel® Teach Program and APSCHE. All the qualified detailed entries
   submitted receive a joint participation citation from Intel® Teach Program and APSCHE.


2. Objectives:
       •      To celebrate the successful association between Intel and APSCHE
       •      To recognize best practices adopted by Colleges of Education, Teacher Educators and Student
              Teachers on best use technology and the Internet to enhance student learning.
       •      To encourage Colleges of Education, Teacher Educators and Student Teachers of AP to integrate
              innovative teaching methods to promote 21st century skills among students.
       •      To showcase the impact of effective technology integration in AP.

Award winners Projects showcasing:
   Before the commencement of function, audience, chief guest and
    other dignitaries interacted with the winners over the project showcase.
    Three student teacher projects were showcased.
    Dignitaries were impressed and appreciated the enthusiasm of student
    teachers while explaining.


Welcome and Inauguration:

                                             Award ceremony started by rendering vande mataram by Teacher
                                             Educators.
                                             Ms. Radha Chary, Intel Teach program on behalf of APSCHE and
                                             Intel welcomed Shri Narayan Datt Tiwari, His Excellency, the
                                             governor of Andhra Pradesh and other dignitaries, participants. His
                                             Excellency Sri N D Tiwari, Governor of Andhra Pradesh inaugurated the
                                             Award ceremony by lighting the lamp.

    Prof. K C Reddy, Chairperson, APSCHE while addressing the
    gathering stressed the importance of technology in teacher education
    program and appreciated the efforts by Intel education program in
    taking various initiatives to promote technology usage in teacher
    educator institutions in AP. Teacher should become the facilitator and
    guide the students in Teacher Education program and empower them
    to use technology effectively. APSCHE Intel collaboration is the best
    example of Public Private Paternership in Andhra Pradesh.

                                         AP and APSCHE for their support in taking the Intel education program

                                         pivotal to shape the minds of children.

                            Shri N D Tiwari, His Excellency Governor of Andhra Pradesh said benefits of IT should
                            not be confined to the privileged few or the urban masses and it should be integrated into
                            education to reach everyone.
                            He appreciated the efforts of corporate like Intel saying that Intel APSCHE partnership has
                            added value to the community through improved learning process. Training of the teachers
                            is an important step as they are the change agents.
                            The initiative of Intel in association with APSCHE is a sterling example of Corporate
                            Social responsibility. I commend the sincere efforts of Intel as well as the
                            APSCHE and various Government bodies, administrators and educators
                            involved. It should be our collective endeavour that AP should stand out as the best
model to behold to the rest of the country.

Benefits of IT should reach all: Governor

Governor N.D. Tiwari said benefits of IT should not be confined to the privileged few or the urban masses and it should
be integrated into education to reach everyone.
He was speaking at a function after giving away prizes to teachers, students and institutions that took the
initiative in integrating technology into education and used IT in day-to-day learning. The 'Best Integration
Technology in Education awards is a joint effort of Intel and A.P. State Council of Higher Education.
APSCHE Chairman K.C. Reddy and B. Suryanarayanan, Director Sales and Marketing, Intel South Asia also spoke.
Award winners
Awards were given in three categories. In the College of Education category awards went to Swaranalatha
Karthaka of Dr.C.L.Naidu College Of Education, AU; V.Vidyavathi of Vidyavan Women's College Of Education, AU and
Rayapa Reddy of Fatima College of Education, Kakatiya University.
In the Teacher-Educator category, winners are Telugu Chinnappa of Fatima College of Education, Shaik
Achukatla Khajavali of St.Paul's College of Education, ANU and A.Suhasini of SPMH College of Education, ANU.
In the Student-Teacher category the winners are P. Sudha Bindu of Vidayavan Women's College Of Education, AU; N.
