• A chelate, a complex compound, is formed when two or more
coordinate positions about the metal ion are occupied by donor
groups of a single ligand to form an integral ring structure. The
process of such metal chelate formation is known as chelation.

EDTA (ethyleneduaminetetraacetic acid)
DTPA (Diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid).
