BIG SMART CITIES BIG smart cities is an international competition where startups get to pitch to investors and earn BIG prizes to launch and scale their businesses The aim is to create innovative startups based on technologies for smart cities that improve the citizens' experience Mobility, Tourism, Living and Government Lisbon, Porto and Évora

HACK A CITY Hackacity is a hackathon that aims to test big data and promotes its use to develop solutions that will have an impact in the city, but also foster collaboration amongst stakeholders. For 24 hours, participants get together to develop solutions based in open source platforms as FIWARE to address challenges faced by the citizens, using data provided by the city. FAB LAB IN THE CITY Lisboa City Hall and FabLab Lisboa (municipal laboratory for fast prototyping) launched the contest FabLab in the City, with the goal to select three winning ideas for prototypes of street furniture for Largo do Intendente neighbourhood. Citizens present ideas of urban equipment to the neighbourhood Ideas were selected by a jury Prototypes were built in Lisbon Fab Lab

URBAN ART GALLERY Social neighborhood located in Loures was transformed in a urban art gallery (Quinta do Mocho) 46 paintings in buildings’ facades Guided tours to the neighborhood organized by residents Artistic residencies to accommodate painters Citizen engagement in the promotion of a positive image of the neighborhood
