North Carolina teachers value data and use it in several ways including to improve instruction, communicate with parents, and collaborate with other teachers. However, many teachers report not having enough time, access, or training to effectively use data. Specifically, over half of teachers said they do not have enough time during the school day to access and use data, while 41% said data is not accessible in a timely manner. Additionally, 40% said there is too much data and they cannot determine what is most important.
