Guidelines for QC on Microsites
1. Cross browser testing for content adaptability and behavior in Chrome, Firefox, IE, Safari
2. Cross system testing for content adaptability and behavior in different screen resolutions across HP, DELL, MacBook, and HD Display andLow-Res Displays. Before we roll out to Clients,
we need to check the behavior of the microsite within different Laptop make, and screen resolutions.
3. Mobile and iPad testing for android, iOS. If we agree/charge for Mobile & iPad responsiveness then we must ensure the Microsite/Portal adapts well on Mobile and iPad devices. Most
common issues is overlap of carousal arrows, Hamburger menu not linking to corresponding sections, Section Headline overlapped with Header and cut, login page background image.
4. Test on android smartphone, Apple iPad, iPhone Testing the mobile/iPad behavior in browser using inspect element/responsinator or any other simulator, will not work. We need to test
the real behavior by accessing the site in android, iOS devices. A recent eg. NYPA Masthead banner had an issue on actual iPad device. While we delivered the Orals Microsite for
Entergy recently, we noted this. The background image scales heavily on an iPad.
5. Video, Image and Text behavior testing across different devises and browsers.
6. Un-recognized symbols/alphabets Please check for un-recognized symbols. Particularly in bullet points, PPT slide screenshots
7. Character Spacing PDF to SVG/PNG image export conversion. Sometime when we export from PDF to SVG or PNG using Adobe Illustrator the texts get rendered as un-recognized
characters or with extra irregular character spacing.
8. Do Not use Single Page scroll Template. The template used for ERVIA has a flaw in IE v11. This template is not suitable to hold complex content. It is best suited for image slide show
kind of Microsite Delivery. When we try hardcoding two column with multiple div containers with texts the behavior is not best suited. This template has lot of compatibility issues. Lets not
use this for any of our future sites. If we are using, then the template needs to be updated before further use.
9. Best templates for Accelerated Microsite delivery. The Best templates to use for Accelerated Microsites are IRAS, NYPA, AstraZeneca, SSG TSG, ABS Census
10. Piwik Web Metrics. Use the right piwik code for non-eso microsites and portals. Please refer the attached email.

Hi Deal Execution friends,
Happy Friday! The Entergy pursuit team recently had a great experience working with the Digital Proposal Center
(DPC) to build a microsite to be shown on iPads for Orals. The DPC was a cost-efficient option and the team was
very easy to work with, turning around new content and updates on short notice. Using a pre-existing interface, the
team was able to build the site in just a little over a week…and in true Orals fashion, we were sending them updates
hours before but the team was very flexible and responsive 😊
I’ve copied in Sathish who was our primary point of contact and helped make all the magic happen. I highly
recommend his team for future Orals!

I have been working with Sathish very closely on developing a complex microsite for a
live Strategy project for Motorola solutions. Over the 2 months we worked together

  • 12. Guidelines for QC on Microsites 1. Cross browser testing for content adaptability and behavior in Chrome, Firefox, IE, Safari 2. Cross system testing for content adaptability and behavior in different screen resolutions across HP, DELL, MacBook, and HD Display andLow-Res Displays. Before we roll out to Clients, we need to check the behavior of the microsite within different Laptop make, and screen resolutions. 3. Mobile and iPad testing for android, iOS. If we agree/charge for Mobile & iPad responsiveness then we must ensure the Microsite/Portal adapts well on Mobile and iPad devices. Most common issues is overlap of carousal arrows, Hamburger menu not linking to corresponding sections, Section Headline overlapped with Header and cut, login page background image. 4. Test on android smartphone, Apple iPad, iPhone Testing the mobile/iPad behavior in browser using inspect element/responsinator or any other simulator, will not work. We need to test the real behavior by accessing the site in android, iOS devices. A recent eg. NYPA Masthead banner had an issue on actual iPad device. While we delivered the Orals Microsite for Entergy recently, we noted this. The background image scales heavily on an iPad. 5. Video, Image and Text behavior testing across different devises and browsers. 6. Un-recognized symbols/alphabets Please check for un-recognized symbols. Particularly in bullet points, PPT slide screenshots 7. Character Spacing PDF to SVG/PNG image export conversion. Sometime when we export from PDF to SVG or PNG using Adobe Illustrator the texts get rendered as un-recognized characters or with extra irregular character spacing. 8. Do Not use Single Page scroll Template. The template used for ERVIA has a flaw in IE v11. This template is not suitable to hold complex content. It is best suited for image slide show kind of Microsite Delivery. When we try hardcoding two column with multiple div containers with texts the behavior is not best suited. This template has lot of compatibility issues. Lets not use this for any of our future sites. If we are using, then the template needs to be updated before further use. 9. Best templates for Accelerated Microsite delivery. The Best templates to use for Accelerated Microsites are IRAS, NYPA, AstraZeneca, SSG TSG, ABS Census 10. Piwik Web Metrics. Use the right piwik code for non-eso microsites and portals. Please refer the attached email. FY19
