was a famous Croatian writer
born in 1874 and died in
Kingdom of Yugoslavia.
She used to write fairytales
for children such as "The
Brave Adventures of Lapitch" ,
"Gingerbread Heart" , "A
Book for Youth" and many
more…
3. She was born in a well-known
Croatian family, her father
was Croatian ban, politician
and poet.
4. Her stories are known
throughout the world and
translated into nearly all
European languages. Highly
regarded and valued by both
national and foreign literary
critics, she obtained the title
of Croatian Andersen.
7. She was the first woman
accepted in Yugoslavian
academy of Science and Art.
8. Her stories contain mithology
and fantastic elements. In her
book Mažuranić created a
series of new fairy-tales, but
using names and motifs from
the Slavic mythology of
Croats.
Although she is not alive
anymore, she still lives in
hearts of all Croatians who
are proud of such an amazing
writer that inspired children
around the world.
