1. Project Engineer
Context/Scope
The role is positioned in the Project Engineering team within Packaging Scotland. The overall
purpose of this team is to deliver the strategy for asset development. For this role this includes –
• Use specialist knowledge to deliver capex projects to correct technical specification.
• Managing efficient spend for capex projects.
• Co-ordinating and managing external resources.
The role holder while primarily be supporting site, from time to time support may be required for
other sites, this will be determined by business priorities.
Financial
Total capex budget circa £20M. Individual responsibility for delivering capex spend relating to own
projects some of which could be in excess of £1M.
Market Complexity
European Spirit Supply packages almost all of Scotch whiskies and circa 25% of the white spirits and
13% of the rum. It is the industry leader in terms of spirit packaging and plays a key role in ensuring
supply of bottled product to markets globally. Safety, quality, service and cost are the key business
drivers and our delivery of capital projects is critical to business success.
Leadership Responsibilities
As part of the Engineering team the role will work alongside the line management to support the
delivery of the business plans. Working with other members of the engineering team this role must
ensure delivery of the overall business and strategic priorities. The role has no direct line
management responsibilities.
Role Purpose
The purpose of the role is to manage capex engineering projects and budgets within the Scotland
Packaging sites.
Top Accountabilities
Deliver annual capex plans ensuring projects are delivered on time, within cost and to the
expectations of the business.
Use specialist and engineering knowledge to provide technical specifications and costs for
capex projects.
Liaise with external resources / contractors and deploy appropriate resources to ensure
project delivery.
Ensure compliance with appropriate Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
Qualifications/Experience
Professional electrical engineer who has developed within their area of expertise by attaining
qualifications and/or specialist skills.Considerable experience and professional development in areas
such as project management essential.Strong health and safety experience and relevant qualification
i.e. NEBOSH. Good at networking to establish excellent relationships, effective influencer, with
excellent communication skills.
