2. INTRODUCTION
Indian sociologist Yogendra singh was born on 2nd november 1932
in zamidar family of In Basti district , U.P.
He acquired his masters and Ph.D degree from lucknow university.
He was professor of sociology at JNU , New Delhi since 1971.
Yogendra singh was founder of centre for the study of social
systems , JNU .
He was part of research advisory committee of planning
commission and ICSSR.
He also acted as a president of indian sociological society.
He has contributed a lot in field of sociology and anthropolgy.
He passes away in may 2020.

He used an integrated approach to study and analyze social stratification ,
Modernization , and transformation of indian society .
His work includes :
